Well mugdog has had a very good week. She goes to work with her other slave. Customers love her and bring her treats. She comes home knackered after multiple trips to the local mot station who have now provided her with a water bowl!
Due to this no destruction, no 2:30am border patrols, takes herself to bed.
She's busy all day . Going squirrel hunting tomorrow, not that she can catch a cold!
She's living the life!
We have finally got there.
And an aawwww moment. She has a once weekly play date. So Wednesday told her we were going to the fields with other dog. Lead on etc. She takes me straight to other dogs house! And sits patiently on their porch waiting! How did she know? My understanding is that dogs don't understand words but sounds relating to an action. We don't even meet up on the same day. I was got smacked. So was the other owner. Even more when I told them about the dna result Smile

drinkswineoutofamug · 05/04/2019 17:51

*gob smacked. Bloody auto correct

BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 18:01

Sounds like mugdog is defintely living the life Grin.

I think dogs spend so much time studying your body language and listening for tones in your voice they spot signs we don't know we are giving off Smile

I'm a bit mystified by the peeing, tbh. It was so bloody deliberate! And he'd been outside probably less than an hour before. I don't know if he was just being lazy, if there was something outside and he was scent marking, or if he was sleep walking and got confused! Confused

drinkswineoutofamug · 06/04/2019 11:13

I feel sick. Dog jumped up at a kid that startled her by trying to stroke her. Took her by surprise. I was so apologetic to the mum ( who I know) she said it was ok as her kid always gets too heavy with dogs . No damage to kid but it's scared her. Made me feel sick to the stomach though. She's never done that before. Dog then proceeds to jump up at me and my partner so we led her away pretty quick. It wasn't ok. Think dog knows I'm pissed off with her. Sad

BiteyShark · 06/04/2019 11:20

drinkswine you did the right thing apologising and removing her to calm down but totally understand why you feel sick.

I checked kid over no scratches or snap marks. The mum said kid gets this off dogs who don't seem to like her. But to me it's beside the point. Totally out of character for dog. I felt like crying 😢 kid was only about 3. Kid kept trying to pat dog on the head . I'm mortified

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 06/04/2019 11:34

A lot of dogs find a pat on the head a bit much. I can see why you feel sick - though tbh I think the mother also needs to supervise her daughter better if this is a recurring theme.

PestDog wears one of these on his lead - not because he routinely snaps at people, but partly because he has no interest in affection from strangers, and partly because he's prone to suddenly barking at motorbikes and tbh I don't want someone's fingers in front of him when he does. It's surprisingly effective, and does help to give me some peace of mind.

She's now had ...
My lunch , Mayo all over her snout and whiskers
The soap
A nail brush
Don't know what's up with her except she's with me and not my partner?
Turned my back for a minute. Like having a bloody toddler again

BiteyShark · 06/04/2019 15:49

drinkswine sometimes they just are a pain in the arse Sad.

Her fanjo is starting to swell...... ????
Could that be the problem. She had male dogs following her around the woods with their bits hanging out

BiteyShark · 06/04/2019 16:09

Oooo could be. Looks like you are going to have to avoid dogs for a few weeks Grin.

Happy days 😬🙄

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 06/04/2019 19:16

Yes it sounds like a period of on lead quiet walks are going to be necessary as even the neutered boys will be after her. PestDog got told off by a Frenchie not long ago - apparently licking her fanjo was fine but licking her ear was a step too far Grin He also spent a good 10 minutes today in a mutually enjoyable mutual humping session with a 6 month old male puppy. We had a chat about appropriate age gaps...

drinkswineoutofamug · 06/04/2019 20:23

😂😂😂

BiteyShark · 07/04/2019 07:46

Poor PestDog, just trying to sow his oats Wink.

BiteyDog has never shown any signs of humping. I don't think he can be bothered Hmm.

He's still biting his back side a lot so not sure the vet visit fixed his gland issues 😭.

Oats? What oats? Wink

BiteyShark · 07/04/2019 11:18

PestDog is probably in denial about the ✂️😆

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 07/04/2019 11:57

Maybe that's why he's so obsessed with balls!

drinkswineoutofamug · 07/04/2019 14:47

Been for a walk round a lake near us. Flo came face to face with her first cow. She did t know what to do , managed to get her on her lead. She was licking her chops looking at them

BiteyShark · 07/04/2019 17:20

I don't like the cows round here. They are very intimidating especially when they stop on bridges over streams and you have no other way back to the car Angry

SquirrelDog has only ever tried to hump one dog: A male poodle cross who had just been to the groomers. I mean, he did smell very nice... Grin

fleshmarketclose · 08/04/2019 13:54

Not been on for ages life gets in the way sometimes. Dd1 discovered she was pregnant at 27 weeks so we've had a bit of a mad rush preparing for a baby that we didn't know was coming (she doesn't live at home I'm just enjoying the granny to be role a bit too much Blush)
Bella humps the bed that she came with, I would throw it as she doesn't sleep in it but wonder if she might hump my cushions instead. When she starts I take the bed and put it under the stairs so she can hump but not in the same room as me.
Today I am super proud of Bella we did a whole walk off lead and she ignored or greeted every dog we saw and demonstrated perfect recall. Obviously a fluke though as tomorrow it will all go to pot but it was nice to be the owner for a change instead of marvelling at other owners and their perfectly behaved dogs Grin

BiteyShark · 09/04/2019 05:49

Congratulations on the granny to be role flesh Grin.

I love it when they do something good that makes you proud of them. It makes up for the shitty times when they try your patience Smile

Remember when mugdog cut her pad. It's about 5 wks ago? She's running on it fine , I thought. She sometimes limps which I was watching as it's a sensitive area. I've notice that the nails on that foot are longer as she's not using that foot as much. The pad is swollen, nothing drastic, just bigger than the other paw. But doesn't seem to bother her. Vets now or wait till we go for her boosters and mot? She doesn't mind you looking and laughs when you find a tickly bit. She's at the vets next week or so.
