Good for you BiteyShark make the most of your free time, it's really like having children isn't it Grin

The treatment has worked as I came down to more worms in the kitchen, her bed and blanket are now in the washing machine.

Mrsoh39 · 03/04/2019 15:28

Poor Mrs pup, she's passed loads of worms, how on earth could she be so riddled with them, how long does the cycle take? She was due her worming next month, would it be worth re doing her in another month?

BiteyShark · 03/04/2019 15:33

What worming treatment do you give? Ours is a monthly tablet but other treatments differ.

Hopefully all the worms are now dead and just being passed.

It was milbemax bitey, I think I'd rather worm her every month lol.
I feel desperately sorry for her as its not her fault.

BiteyShark · 03/04/2019 15:52

Never used that one. We have only used advocate or nexgard spectrum which are both monthly.

How old is MrsPup now?

OP posts:
Mrsoh39 · 03/04/2019 16:09

She's 17 weeks old tomorrow bitey, I will change her to monthly I think, every 3 months is far too long.

Bunnybigears · 03/04/2019 20:06

My mongrel has some Mali in him as well. Apparently he is part Belgian Malinois, German Shepherd, Labrador, Border Collie and Chow Chow but they could only account for about 60% of his DNA and he is really small so there has to be some little dogs in the mix as well.

drinkswineoutofamug · 03/04/2019 20:46

I've been reading about Belgian Mali, I look at dog and then the images on google and I can see it. But after 2 hours running around a field , she's curled up like a cat!

Mrsoh39 · 04/04/2019 17:55

Looks like we have no more worms thank god, and today she has proven to me just how bloody awesome she is and how much we love her and why Grin

BiteyShark · 04/04/2019 18:28

That's good news about MrsPup. What has she done to deserve the accolade?

BiteyDog has a trip to the vet again tomorrow 😭. He's scooting again and has been scooting across the carpets at daycare ooops Blush

Oh no Bitey, it's like his 2nd home at the moment isn't it.
I had work today and had to leave her for a few hours as mum couldn't have her, I left her her snake with food in, her ball with a few things in and treats hidden around the kitchen for her to find, I came home to nothing destroyed at all, took her for a walk straight away and she peed twice, so a very proud owner tonight Grin

Mrsoh39 · 04/04/2019 19:10

Will that be the glands bitey?

BiteyShark · 04/04/2019 19:27

Awww it's so nice when they start growing up and being trusted.

Yeah it's his glands again Sad. God they smell [boak]

Mrsoh39 · 04/04/2019 19:38

We will be doing some tricks soon as her reward lol.
Eww that alone would put me off being a vet.

BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 10:21

One freshly squeezed bottom later [boak]Grin

Glad they have been done but Envy not envy!!

BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 11:57

He needed his back end washed as he stank. Let's hope that fixes it for a while Grin

Let's hope so Grin

Squirrel26 · 05/04/2019 14:43

I don’t know if I am friends with SquirrelDog at the moment or not. On one hand he is doing SO WELL at training - he’s searching independently off lead at ScentWork and he concentrated for almost a whole agility lesson last week and managed to link 3 jumps and do the dogwalk. (I had to run. That was upsetting. Grin)

On the other hand, he came downstairs the other evening while I was sitting on the sofa and casually pissed on the armchair. I asked him what the hell he thought he was doing, and he came over and pissed on the sofa for good measure. FFS. Angry

BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 14:50

Oh no Squirrel. Wonder why the peeing? Has he been unwell or just being a bit lazy?

Glad he's progressing well with his training.

We are trying to work on a marker for scentwork as we don't have one at the moment Sad. However, he does absolutely love it as it appeals to his spaniel nose and I defintely made the right decision giving up agility for scentwork.

Anyone who ever said dogs cannot do a cost-benefit analysis has never offered a peanut butter covered muzzle to a dog that knows eye drops are coming next Hmm

I've developed a technique for getting the muzzle on, which starts with holding the back of the collar so he cannot lunge at my face, and so he cannot twist and bite my hand. Twat.

Believe it or not we did do muzzle training before, but eye drops have ruined all that. 5 seconds after the eye drops are in he's all sweetness and light again!

If he gets conjunctivitis again they can remove the whole sodding eye

BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 16:36

Avocados I hated the eye drops. I think that was the only time BiteyDog actually growled at me to tell me to get the FO him.

I am sure PestDog won't hold it against you Grin

OP posts:
BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 16:45

Is it all cleared up now Avocados or you still having to administer them?

You are doing well to put them in yourself but I think DH and I just made it more difficult as we couldn't coordinate quickly enough hence a stressed and upset dog.

Ironically BiteyDogs eye issues were probably an allergic reaction so when he was first treated with eye drops I think he probably just needed piriton but we only found that out with experience.

OP posts:
AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 05/04/2019 17:07

We've been told to continue for another week as it hadn't quite cleared up. To be completely honest I didn't quite get the hang of it until half way through week 1, so that's probably largely my fault. At least now I think the majority of it goes in, not on his eyelid! As I've got better at it he's got marginally less twatty about it.

To be completely fair to PestDog he gives almost every available appeasement signal and goes up the ladder of aggression before trying to bite, so it's not like he didn't tell me to sod off first! Under any other circumstances I'd have backed off a long time ago but I don't really have that option.

I can just imagine the trip to A&E - "and how did you come to get this dog bite?"
"Err, well I was trying to get the muzzle on..."
Judgemental silence

He really is feral sometimes.

BiteyShark · 05/04/2019 17:18

The growl was because we pissed about for 10 minutes restraining him and trying to prise his eyes open. Completely our fault but bless him he is so timid so must have been very stressed. Now we can do it in a few seconds and he is fine Grin

It's so hard isn't it because you have no choice but to administer them Sad
