New Border Collie Puppy - Much excitement and need name!

Finally, after a long long wait, we are getting a dog and I am beyond excitement.

It is a little Border Collie boy and I am totally in love. We get him in January.

But I need a name. We met his Mum and Dad (and Granny) and all were gorgeous - Dad is big and fluffy and really laid back. So I'm imagining our wee boy is going to turn into quite a big thing.

Here are the maybe names so far (please don't laugh)

Magnus
Moss
Bo
Wookie
Pixel

Any other suggestions welcomed.

(As this is a very outing list - I have been running some ideas by my friends/colleagues - I have name changed)

One was a breeder, owner of the dad was Bruce Fogle and he’d assessed the pups and decided mine would be a useless sheepdog. She would have been utterly useless but she was a fantastic pet, she had a slightly undershot jaw and I had to promise to get her neutered. I got her 12 weeks before my first child was born, no mumsnet to tell me off then, 😀 they grew up together and had a fantastic relationship.
Current one was farm bred, Mum was a trial champion and dad was rescued by the farmer, he was a failed sheepdog as he was scared of sheep. Met both parents and they were lovely calm and friendly dogs.
Both my sister and my niece have collies or collie crosses and they’re all calm and we all ‘dog parent’ in the same way so perhaps that’s the secret.

I will be very happy to update and post photos!

I’m going to see him again on Friday but we don’t bring him home until early January as we are away for Christmas.

Ah blobby, let me know if Bruce Fogle has any more pups in the future (or his dog does!). I love the breed.

owlshooting It was 26 years ago so no contact now I’m afraid. Just go with your gut and get a good trainer. If you’re in-south east I can recommend an excellent trainer.

I saw him again yesterday. Completely besotted with him! But it’s still 25 days until we collect him......

I have tried not to look at this thread as border collie pups are just the best thing ever and it will make me want more.

He is stunning what an absolute cutey. How old is he now?

WendyWoofer we’re going to call him Torr. We did want a short name in the end and this was only one we all liked a lot.

Our boy is home and he’s absolutely wonderful. I forgot the utter joy a dog brings to a house. We’re all absolutely smitten. And he’s definitely a Tor!
