I really wanted to call our dog Colin. DH vetoed it. Spoilsport.

I know a dog called Piggy (sausage type dog, their toddler named it) and BIL’s cat is called Dr Fluffington-Chubbface (it is a skinny looking moggy, short haired, pointy face, possibly part Siamese, and couldn’t suit the name less really).

Dave is one of those “trying to be original” names that are actually now depressingly common. In fact the whole trend of giving dogs human names is a bit yawnsome now.

I suppose it’s marginally better than when there was a craze of calling dogs “Deefer” which I suppose is a handy way of identifying an idiot without having to waste time getting to know them first.

we knew a rottie called Lulu, she always seemed to be at the vets when we were with the cat.
She loved cats , our cat did not love her! She used to try and sit on people's laps, or would sidle up to little old ladies and "smile" at them.

This was in the eighties, when it was peak Rotties are Devildogs time so it was lovely to see such a sweety pie!

We walk a great many dogs regularly. A good dog name has no more than two syllables, and if you give your dog a single syllable name you may well find yourself adding an 'ee' sound on the end to make it easier to call. With longer names no matter how splendid they get shortened down.
