We went on a 2 week holiday when BiteyDog was around 1 year old and I have to say it was too long. I couldn't believe how much I missed him. Now we only book 1 week holidays Grin.

Are you getting any pictures and updates? I love seeing them from my home boarder when I am away.

She’s been staying with my aunt and uncle this week, so I’ve had text updates and one funny video. Next week she’s with good friends who are active WhatsAppers so I’m hoping for lots of photos!

You’re smart booking only one week away Grin We’re planning a holiday to the States next year (taking the kids to Disney, we’ve been talking about this for years) and were intending to go for three weeks to make the most of it. Now I’m slightly worried - how could I possibly manage three weeks away from her!?

BiteyShark · 04/08/2018 18:55

Glad you are getting the updates as then you know she's fine Smile.

Oooh three weeks, hmmm that's a big dilemma Sad

BastardPup is 14 weeks now - he will be a bit old for classes but none available til then.

He can do sit and did a recall well today but he tends to do stuff in his own time!

fleshmarketclose · 05/08/2018 09:24

14 weeks? I still shudder at the memories of Eric at that age, he was a nightmare, nipping, stealing chewing ugh hard to imagine at the time that he'd grow up into a lovely dog. I swear puppies are made to look so cute to compensate for their behaviour.
Well I'm feeling pretty smug today, took Bella at the crack of dawn again and thought I'd test her recall as I've not let her off the long line yet and she was pretty good (and couldn't have escaped anyway) When this lovely black lab called Colin Grin approached she did all the right moves and they chased each other and played lovely together for about twenty minutes. Had to bath her when we got home as the heavy dew and her rolling meant she was filthy but she was great in the bath. We are off out in the Peak District with Eric later so she will be exhausted by bedtime.Wonder if that means a later start tomorrow?

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 05/08/2018 09:56

BastardPup is also called Colin!

fleshmarketclose · 05/08/2018 10:12

It's a great dog's name. I've never met a Colin before.

BiteyShark · 05/08/2018 10:54

Colin's a great name but shudders as well at the thought of having such a young puppy again Grin

Bella sure sound like she's settled right in.

I'm shattered. It tires me out at agility as BiteyDog is fast when he wants to be and despite it being early it's hot and I was dripping with sweat. Back home but he's still demanding ball play. I have one ball obsessed spaniel. Bless him he just drops the ball by your feet and looks at you then at the ball and back and forth. Fortunately he doesn't even care if you just flick it a foot away.

I saw a 14 week old Newfoundland puppy today in the local pet shop. Omg it was so cute and fluffy. Even if it did wee on the floor Grin

Squirrel26 · 05/08/2018 11:50

I just took SquirrelDog to the garden centre, where he did probably the best walking to heel he’s ever done, next to me pushing a trolley. What a weirdo.

fleshmarketclose · 05/08/2018 17:15

Bitey she is a dream of a dog we definitely struck lucky here. She didn't seem to even question that she had been uprooted from everything she knew and plonked here with us. It's very different here to what she was used to she lived with small children where the youngest here ever is fifteen. I've stopped the grazing, I've pretty much cracked her not going upstairs, because of ds (and dd to some extent) she has had to fit in to our strict routines but she has just taken it all in her stride. She seems incredibly happy anyway. Groomers on Thursday which will make me happy because we walk in places where long hair really isn't practical and I'm sure she will be cooler if she loses some of it.

BiteyShark · 05/08/2018 17:26

Soubriquet how you doing with new pup?

Squirrel maybe you need to walk with a trolley all the time Wink

flesh we are at the groomers every 5-6 weeks as I don't like long fur either as it's hard to keep dry and clean.

fleshmarketclose · 05/08/2018 17:46

I've booked her in with Eric who goes every six weeks as well Bitey Luckily being a regular they will take on Bella but they are usually booked up for weeks at a time.

Soubriquet · 05/08/2018 19:20

She's doing really well thank you bitey

They do absoutely everything together and even brings madam out of shell on walks.

They even share madams deer antler. Madam has one end, puppy has the other. Sometimes puppy drag so it away but madam doesn't get mad. She simply swats the puppy away and resumes chewing her end Grin

She's so gentle with her but if she does get a bit too much, puppy has no problem telling her off and madam listens

fleshmarketclose · 05/08/2018 21:41

Do you think she will pick stuff up quickly by having the older dog around Soubriquet? You'd think it would put paid to the nipping quicker if there is a dog there already to tell her off at least.

Soubriquet · 05/08/2018 21:44

Urm....I'm hoping so. She's chewing the older dog more than us or toys but shes only 10 weeks so it could be will still have that to come

BiteyShark · 06/08/2018 07:23

Sounds like it's going well Soubriquet with both of them Grin

I think he might have been a bit worried about my trolley-pushing skills Bitey. Grin He may have sensed that I wasn’t in complete control...

Soubriquet · 06/08/2018 10:40

Looooooook!!

Gorgeousness!

fleshmarketclose · 06/08/2018 12:47

Aww so lovely but I still maintain puppies are only cute so that you put up with their hideous behaviours Wink

BiteyShark · 06/08/2018 12:49

They are gorgeous when sleeping Wink

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 06/08/2018 13:21

Very possibly yes Grin

But to be honest, she hasn't been that bad

ealingwestmum · 06/08/2018 16:02

That is SO cute soubriquet!

BiteyShark · 06/08/2018 19:42

Hmmm BiteyDog usually gets special food and treats when we leave him in the morning but recently he hasn't been eating any of them. He isn't distressed as I watch him on the cameras but it isn't like him to turn down cooked cod fillets or special tasty biscuits. Either he isn't hungry, is under the weather or has turned into a pampered pooch and the best isn't good enough any more Hmm
