She's so good with puppy. Very gentle and tolerant. Shares her food, treats, even her favourite spot on the sofa Grin

Awww Soubriquet.

I guess you might have to seperate them so they both get some downtime.

Soubriquet · 28/07/2018 12:46

Going to be tricky.

Puppy howls when I crate her. Hasn't settled in it yet.

Soubriquet · 28/07/2018 14:54

This is her crate all set up Grin

She's now happy to go in for her dinner and water

She's also discovered madam won't fit in her bed, so she escapes in there if she needs 5 minutes

BiteyShark · 28/07/2018 16:55

Wow can't believe I actually feel a bit chilly today with the weather. I knew the temperatures were going to drop but hadn't realised how stormy with the wind it was going to be. Been out and playing with BiteyDog lots as I don't plan to venture out tomorrow with the heavy rain given he isn't keen on getting soaked so Sunday will be a lazy day in front of the tv.

fleshmarketclose · 28/07/2018 17:01

Aww she is so sweet soubriquet. Still not envious though Grin That crate looks so cosy.
Well visit from Eric went well if not a little exhausting. Considering they are both lapdogs individually together in an enclosed space they are whirling dervishes chasing each other round.
Made it a short visit because Bella was tired and Eric wasn't taking her cues that she'd had enough (she was incredibly patient with him tbf) but I'd say it went well for the first visit. Will walk them together again tomorrow and increase duration of visits here slowly. I think we will get there eventually although I'm pretty certain that Bella will give Eric a telling off at some point.

BiteyShark · 28/07/2018 18:18

Sounds like they both had fun flesh Grin

Soubriquet we had an igloo bed inside BiteyDogs crate when he first came and he loved hiding in it. Unfortunately he outgrew it quite quickly.

I think this one might last a bit longer bitey Grin

Dogs will find a way to assert themselves

Unless a big fight erupts, it's usually best to let them sort it out between themselves.

It's usually all noise

fleshmarketclose · 28/07/2018 20:39

Well Bella has blotted her copybook. Took her for a walk she was on a longline, spotted a cat and ran for it. Wasn't too worried as I saw cat fly over the fence and then Bella disappeared under the gate. Of course the lead got trapped in bushes in the garden and the gate was locked. So I'm on my hands and knees trying to get Bella to come back to the gate (she was looking to come back to me). Had to let go of the lead because there wasn't enough length to get to me otherwise but eventually we got there. I can't believe how small the gap was that she got through so I'm going to have to check our back garden tomorrow for any gaps as small as the one she went through.

BiteyShark · 28/07/2018 20:57

Arghhh cats Sad

We have one that likes to come in the garden so when I take BiteyDog out late at night or first thing in the morning all hell breaks out. I have to run out shooing cat away off the fence as it torments him which results in barking and growling.

Wolfiefan · 28/07/2018 21:37

Could be worse. You could live with "the evils" who delight in finding new and inventive ways to torment wolfiepup. Current favourite? Following us on a walk mewing loudly. Death wish? FFS. Shock

Soubriquet · 29/07/2018 08:59
Grin

Cats are bastards

It makes me laugh then when madam gets the big I am and chases a cat, but then suddenly yelps and runs away when the cat puffs itself up and swears.

I've had to chase many a cat away though as some seem to think "aha, revenge on the little bitch"

Wolfiefan · 29/07/2018 09:22

Cats are indeed bastards. It's raining here. They're taking it out on the dog! Confused

BiteyShark · 29/07/2018 09:30

Torrential rain here as well. We are settled in for the day. BiteyDog looks sad as he wants to take his ball outside but then looks at the rain and goes off to sulk.

Bloody stupid dog gave me a fright. He was on the spare bed and decided he had an itch. Whilst trying to get into some contorted shape to scratch himself he fell off the bed straight onto our hard floor right near a bloody radiator. That dog has a serious death wish Sad

OP posts:
fleshmarketclose · 29/07/2018 10:02

Bella is seriously fed up with the rain she's taken herself off to bed in a sulk after staring through the window for ages. No way am i going in this, I decided to bake instead.

Wolfiefan · 29/07/2018 10:14

Bitey I thought mine was actually dead this morning. Sat up until midnight reading. Came down at 8am and couldn't rouse her at first. In a deep deep sleep. Scared the bejesus out of me! Shock
We are walking later. When I can be bothered to shower and change. Making the most of the last few days before we have to leave her and go away. Sad

Soubriquet · 29/07/2018 10:44

Awwww wolfie she will be fine

Just imagine all the excited cuddles you will get when it's time to come home

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 29/07/2018 10:56

PestDog is also unimpressed with the weather. He raced to me when he heard the back door opening, went outside 2m and came straight back in.

It's not even raining, it's just windy! I think his soul lies somewhere in the tropics.

Squirrel26 · 29/07/2018 11:44

I opened the door this morning, SquirrelDog took two steps out into the rain, then rapidly reversed. Grin

Bloody cats. There’s one that likes to stroll across my drive while SquirrelDog hurls himself repeatedly at the gate barking at it.

Sometimes if he’s been really annoying I go outside and fuss the cat to piss him off.

BiteyShark · 29/07/2018 12:07

Wolfie it is always tinged with a bit of sadness when I book holidays abroad as I know it means leaving BiteyDog.

Remember WolfieDog will have a great time and you will get the biggest greeting ever from her when you get back.

Am I the only one with a ddog who will go out in all weathers, can you train them to dislike rain😕 If you know how please let me know!

There is a cat at Cocodogs dog sitter who rules the roost and I have seen coco tiptoe past her very respectfully, won’t go near her food bowl etc but the same dog will yank my arm out of its socket if she spots a cat in the street.

BiteyShark · 29/07/2018 14:07

thegirl I am so glad BiteyDog likes to chill around the warm dry house when the weather is rubbish. What would Cocodog be like if you didn't go out?

OP posts:
fleshmarketclose · 29/07/2018 15:49

I suspect Bella would go out in the rain and Eric goes whatever the weather I'm just not accommodating it. It's starting to brighten up here now so I'll give it a chance to dry a little and then we will go out. Kept Bella happy by giving her a dish of chicken from the roast instead.

BiteyShark · 29/07/2018 15:54

I just took BiteyDog out to play ball in the artificial grass play area at home as the rain in easing off. After a couple of minutes he just looked at me like 'wtf are we doing out here Confused'. He's now back inside snoozing in the dry.

Indy has learnt to love puddles! Usually he hates them buy im guessing where we've managed to get him to love his paddling pool he now happily wades through the puddles that previously dodged.
