Maltipoo Puppy Breeder Recommendations - UK

Catsandkids78 · 15/05/2018 16:07

Hi, I have a friend looking for a Maltipoo breeder in the UK - prepared to travel for the right puppy & must be able to see it with Mum.

Struggling to find a reputable breeder.

OP posts:
geekone · 19/05/2018 18:33

I’d rather buy from a person who is a serious breeder, knows the breed, knows her dogs, than a hobby breeder or try to find the specialized breed I need/want in a shelter. this.

My breeder ships across Europe too as she is a very well known breeder.

Floralnomad · 19/05/2018 18:36

OP has your friend looked at Bichons as well , cute , fluffy , non shedding so sounds ideal .

Charolais · 19/05/2018 19:13

Going back on my breeders web site it appears she is breeding her bitches less once a year. I see five adult dogs & five bitches and many young ones in training in the photos. (It’s hard to count because there are action shots of them herding etc) I hope you didn’t think she was breeding the bitches right back. I’ve been watching the web site for years and she only had three or four litters year from all the whole lot - not the same poor mum. The pups sell before they are weaned and I can’t believe I got the little darling I wanted.

Her dogs are agility and herding campions and not bred for their looks so much, thank goodness. Although I think my pup is absolutely a stunner. I all ready have three of the same breed and love them to bits.

Wolfiefan · 19/05/2018 21:04

Less than once a year? So every other season? I would still stay well clear. I don't know the breed but this is clearly a business and a money making scheme. I would worry about health tests not being done and the same bitches and dogs being bred time and again.

Terfing · 19/05/2018 22:18

Op, I personally could not be friends with such a cruel person. And I certainly would never help anyone participate in animal cruelty.

Please take a step back and look at the situation from an outsider's perspective. It's not good.

Appletreecorner · 20/05/2018 01:22

People need to do their research.

Yes Wolfie - Exactly what I and everyone else has already said! Your posts make you sound that you bought your one and only pup from a puppy farmer. You clearly have no idea how puppy farmers operate....Others do. Suck it up..

Take a look at this wonderful breeder and let us know what you think? The things that stand out (I'm in work so cant analyse fully at the moment) is they have many litters of different crossbreeds per year all brought up within the kitchen and living room. yeah right! Also they don't want people to just turn up because it will be detrimental to the health of the puppies. Work that out for yourself!

To people who have no idea that website sounds wonderful. Absolute bullshit! But the clueless will be taken in by it...

Apple your posts are bizarre
Your posts make you sound that you bought your one and only pup from a puppy farmer.

Nothing about Wolfie’s post make it sound like she bought her pup from a puppy farmer Confused but you seem so determined to believe she has and to be ‘right’ that you don’t seem to be able to articulate why.

I’m also not sure that you should be promoting individual breeder websites especially if you aren’t convinced they are reputable. It’s not exactly a responsible thing to do.

Appletreecorner · 23/05/2018 23:05

Veterinari I'm not promoting any puppy breeders. Just saying that those who bought their puppy from a "reputable home breeder" have probably been duped. Take a look at this.... it's not uncommon. www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/uxbridge-vet-who-helped-hayes-14692630

Wolfiefan · 23/05/2018 23:28

Not sure how you figure that she's from a puppy farmer. I know she isn't.
But then I'm not that sure if any of your points.
Home breeder? Are you confusing this with back yard breeder or those who place puppy farmed pups in a rented property to try and dupe buyers.
My girl was born and raised in a home. The home her mother still lives in. And will live in until her dying day. No more pups. They don't show her. She's now a pet and as loved as ever she was.

Appletreecorner · 24/05/2018 00:24

There you go Wolfie. I thought your dog would have had the best breeding... You know where your pup came from... We only have your word on that. I'm sure everyone else got their pups from a puppy farmer... According to you! There we go then. Nobody is disputing there are puppy farmers operating. I have provided links to puppy farmers.

I have no idea what your agenda is. Not every breeder is a puppy farmer - fact! You seem to think otherwise. Every potential puppy owner needs to do their own research - no?

Until people do research as to where their potential pups come from puppy farmers will continue to breed. It's people like you who are not willing for people to distinguish between reputable breeders and puppy farmers. Not all breeders who sell from their own homes are reputable. Most aren't. I have provided the links. If you can't see it then that's your problem. But don't make others think that any breeder who sell puppies as 'home bred' are reputable. They are NOT!

tabulahrasa · 24/05/2018 07:32

“Not every breeder is a puppy farmer - fact! You seem to think otherwise.”

“Not all breeders who sell from their own homes are reputable.”

She hasn’t said either of those things...

Wolfiefan · 24/05/2018 08:09

Tabula I'm glad you're not as hard of reading as Apple! Grin
The sad fact is that the majority of pups bought in the UK don't come from decent breeders.

Appletreecorner · 24/05/2018 15:56

Sadly your right Wolfie. I'm pretty convinced your pup came from the only reputable breeder within the UK 🙄

Here's another fb post from a neighbour who is a well known puppy farmer. Don't let a little thing like " Home bred" stop you tho...

Wolfiefan · 24/05/2018 16:06

I really don't understand your point. My puppy came from a home. She came from a good breeder. Most don't.

Appletreecorner · 24/05/2018 16:14

I really don't understand your point. My puppy came from a home. She came from a good breeder. Most don't.

Yeah so you keep saying.... So did mine. There's more than one reputable breeder out there then?

That's my point! You seem to dispute that any breeder is reputable unless it's the breeder you bought your pup from.... we all know that most puppies are from puppy farms. I have linked lots here. That doesn't mean ALL puppies, other than your one and only, are puppy farm bred... That's it really!

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 24/05/2018 16:19

Are you done, Apple? You seem to be a little obsessed with getting at Wolfie for no good reason.

Appletreecorner · 24/05/2018 16:25

Yeah I'm done. Wolfie seems to have found the perfect breeder. Good for her! 👏👏👏 Everyone else has bought from puppy farmers. There we go!..... 😂😂😂

Wolfiefan · 24/05/2018 16:25

Where did I say there was one reputable breeder? Confused

Wolfiefan · 24/05/2018 16:26

Ah I think I may recognise the posting style actually. Hmm.

Appletreecorner · 24/05/2018 16:45

Where did I say there was one reputable breeder?

Where did you say there wasn't? All you have harped on about is your breeder being the best. Everyone else has bought from a puppy farm. You can't even give examples of puppy farms or other reputable breeders other than... go through the breeders club. Great advice - not! Especially when the OP is asking about a cross breed... 🙄

SpanielsAreNuts · 24/05/2018 16:50

apple WTF?! Your posts make no sense at all and you are contradicting yourself constantly. I also cannot understand your continued personal attack on Wolfie for saying things that highlight the kind of lengths puppy farmers go to to dupe people. Nor can I understand why you appeared to advertise and promote puppy farmers to make some unknown point (you contradicted yourself too much for anyone to know what on earth you were on about)
