PerfectPup (hah!) has an upper respiratory tract infection. Glad my gut feeling was to get her checked out. I didn't know that dogs can get colds (which vet said is more or less what is is like!). Wish whoever passed it to us had been more careful 😠

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 12:27

Awww poor thing. Is it a wait and see or did they give you some medication.

GooodMythicalMorning · 21/12/2017 13:45

Poor thing.

Indy very chewy today. He's eaten the wallpaper off the wall! I've no idea how im going to sort that out

Wallpaper?
Wolfie ate a wall!! Grin
Still sore footed. Now looking at an exclusion diet in the new year. This could get complicated and expensive.

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 14:31

What on earth goes through their minds? Hmmm I just fancy eating a bit of wall/wallpaper today yum Confused

Wolfiefan · 21/12/2017 15:17

Teething! She mainly thought. "Oweeee. Must CHEW!!!!"
Grin

GooodMythicalMorning · 21/12/2017 16:23

Blimey! Wall is worse! He isn't interested in the filled bones or yaks something or other expensive chew. He does like the cows tails but the smell makes me want to vom.

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 21/12/2017 16:49

She mainly chews nylabone or actual bones now! Better than a sister of hers who ate the kitchen! Grin

PerfectlyChaotic · 21/12/2017 16:50

Eeek re the chewing!! Bulls pizzle a fave in our house...they do smell though. Bitey we have antibiotics as v often a bacterial element apparently. Hopefully she'll be much better soon 🤞🏻

Wolfiefan · 21/12/2017 16:58

Hope she does feel better. Not managed to find pizzle. Dehydrated some lung yesterday though!!

GooodMythicalMorning · 21/12/2017 16:59

Tried Nylabones. He wasn't fussed. Need something to replace my ankle in his mouth at the moment too.

Soubriquet · 21/12/2017 17:41

We have chickens feet, pigs ears, rabbit ears (complete with fur) and raw chicken wings for cheques. She loves them all

Wolfiefan · 21/12/2017 17:50

Stuffed Kong
Frozen carrot
Ice cubes work too!
Knot ripped strands of tea towels together

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 17:50

Thank god BiteyDog doesn't chew much as we have had to throw out all the food chew treats as his stomach didn't agree with them. We just use deer antlers now.

Perfectly hope the antibiotics do the trick.

Wolfie sorry to hear the foot is still sore.

GooodMythicalMorning · 21/12/2017 17:50

I'll give those a go too. See if he likes any of them.

Can I join? This rather lovely soul joined us today. We’ve had dogs before but never a puppy so this is new to us. So far we’ve had one wee and poo outside and one wee inside so not too bad!

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 18:16

Hi bean, everyone's welcome here Grin

beanhunter · 21/12/2017 18:18

First stupids question then? We have a crate and pup has happily slept in it today. Do I leave water in it at night?

Wolfiefan · 21/12/2017 18:21

Yes. They should have access to water 24/7.

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 18:21

Lots of people advocate water at all times including the crate. Mine never did but then he never drank when he came out of the crate so clearly not thirsty.

If you do leave water you can get crate bowl holders which means they won't tip over which look good.

bluetongue · 21/12/2017 19:43

Welcome Bean and pup.

Bluepuppy is indifferent to the antler I bought him but loves to chew on his goat horn and hooves. I’ve been doing frozen Kongs as it’s summer here at the moment.

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 19:47

blue I wish it was the summer here. BiteyDogs paws stink of mud and I am fed up of having to wash his legs after each walk. As for my kitchen floor.... Sad

Elphame · 21/12/2017 19:59

I am fed up of having to wash his legs after each walk

Same here. It's straight into the shower for Elfpup as he is plastered. It didn't help yesterday when we found ourselves in a foul mix of cow slurry and mud. it must have been 8" deep and Elfpup is barely 12" tall. That was the worst yet. Unfortunately the tarmac paths around here have been over run with cyclists and are really quite dangerous.

BiteyShark · 21/12/2017 20:04

Elphame it's grim isn't it. At times like this I sometime think I should have got a breed that would be happy with simple pavement walks rather than one that likes to skid along the mud chasing balls Grin
