I'm feeling rather sorry for some of the puppies.

Well that made better viewing. I love Stan, he's gorgeous.

Hillingdon · 07/01/2015 21:01

Bryon's owner is a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/01/2015 21:01

'I wouldn't say I love him... it's a dog.'

She is not a dog person. Right there.

Hillingdon · 07/01/2015 21:02

The consultant on the show trained our rottie!

Whitegrenache · 07/01/2015 21:02

Yes I can see how he can help
Picking up etc in the house, but on that journey to the family meal apart from being a confident companion how did lol assist?

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 07/01/2015 21:05

I would say giving someone the confidence to leave the house and have a life is assisting enough. She was putting thetford in by the end, I'm sure it'll only get better.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 07/01/2015 21:05

*the effort

Well Byron's owner was a bitch wasn't she, she looks like a barrel of fun to be around. Poor dog, hope he lives with granny now

I've not seen it all and am glad

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2015 21:12

Stan is gorgeous, and the Weimeraner looked as though he will be fine now that the woman has given up the illusion ofim being her DS's dog - I liked her, because even at it's worst, she blamed herself and not the dog.

Poor Byron, though Sad

Raptorrrethy · 07/01/2015 21:14

They have chosen a dog that suits them and he fits in with their lifestyle perfectly.

Exactly, MrsDeVere - I agree completely.
Also agree that Byron's owner is dreadful. I felt very, very sorry for that dog Sad

Hillingdon · 07/01/2015 21:14

Bryon's owner wont live this down...

Hillingdon · 07/01/2015 21:16

Not sure I agree re Stewie. Anyway like Stan very much, Bryons owner - well what can one say...

insanityscratching · 07/01/2015 21:16

I think Byron will be rehomed pretty quickly now the cameras have gone. She blatantly didn't like him and I felt sorry for him that he wasn't being enjoyed really.

Stewie's owners didn't irritate me, they obviousky adored their dog. Then again I confess that Eric's "other name" is Baby and I fuss over him like he's my child but he's loved and well cared for and he's trained and exercised daily so I can't see it's doing any harm tbh

muttynutty · 07/01/2015 21:18

Re Collette - her dog is an assistance dog and seizure alert dog.
Collete did have help training the assistance behaviour. There is an organisation called Dog Aid which helps owners train their own dogs to be assistance dogs.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/01/2015 21:19

I didn't like their lack of training. It might be cute watching your tiny dog display his assertiveness in the park but you won't be laughing when a bigger dog that doesn't want him bouncing in his face does him some serious harm.

Izzy24 · 07/01/2015 21:20

I don't think Byron's owner disliked him at all. In fact I think she is potty about him but just won't say so.

Hillingdon · 07/01/2015 21:24

Mrs - that's exactly what happened with our big dog. Small terrier off the lead jumps on our dogs face and starts biting. Our dog didn't like it, owner was screaming that it was because it didn't like black dogs.. Park Rangers were called because both dogs had bites. Horrible and over the years we have had to be very careful, I have been known to hide behind trees if I see a small terrier loose..

Oscar82 · 07/01/2015 21:32

What a lot of very personal and nasty comments about families, many of you on here should be ashamed of yourselves, you are a bunch of trolls! The programme was about the trials and tribulations any family would experience bringing a puppy into a family and there are always good and bad times which the editing of the programme would have to show. Saying nasty comments about children and their families is inexcusable

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 07/01/2015 21:34

Oh Hillingdon some people are such twats. Hmm

A friend of mine with a lovely lab has to avoid a house on her road because it's home to two yappy bitey terriers that have been known to launch themselves through the hedge. She says quite rightly that she doesn't want her lovely well behaved dog spoiled by them.

stealthsquiggle · 07/01/2015 21:37

Oscar I cannot see a single nasty remark about any child on this thread Confused

No,Oscar, the program has shown just how much hard work and effort the average family should put into a dog and don't. It has shown how a bit of research and training works wonders. It has shown what ignorance and lack of research can do. Hopefully it has put a lot of unsuitable people off taking in and spoiling a dog. Hopefully it has put people off cross breeds. And hopefully it has given a bit of insight.

Cocolepew · 07/01/2015 21:39

Which one were you on the programme Oscar?

I think Bryons owner did love him but is the type of person who thinks its stupid to say they love a dog.

Cocolepew · 07/01/2015 21:40

One thing, Ralphs owner really should have stopped him humping that poor spaniel Hmm
