I'm feeling rather sorry for some of the puppies.

I'm cringing watching it

NickiFury · 06/01/2015 20:46

I'm really disliking Byron's owner. He's not attacking you tit!

NCIS · 06/01/2015 20:46

I know the programme is no doubt heavily edited but I think the collie will be fine, the farmer seems to be sensible and experienced. Ralph and Byron are the ones who I would be most worried about plus the. assistance (?) dog

Don't fancy the chances of the one with the two gay chaps. He had it sitting on his lap in the front of the car.

babyboomersrock · 06/01/2015 20:46

Byron needs a smack on the nose very hard when the TV crew switches the camera off

What??

Whitegrenache · 06/01/2015 20:47

Nope not kidding
I have smacked every lab I have had on the nose on the odd occasion.
No regrets and have had 4 beautiful well behaved adult dogs who have been a pleasure to own. Sorry if that upset you

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 06/01/2015 20:49

Sorry but I'd rather my dog knew how to behave rather than know how to be scared.

NCIS · 06/01/2015 20:49

I think the farmer will have words with his son off camera. Byrons owners need a good shake.

OP posts:
Whitegrenache · 06/01/2015 20:49

Maybe not "very hard" bad choice of words on reflection. A tap I meant
I promise I'm not an animal abuser! Quite the opposite

Bakeoffcakes · 06/01/2015 20:49

Some people are so stupid!!

Bowlersarm · 06/01/2015 20:49

I have two lovely adult labs, who have never experienced a smack on the nose. Don't see why you would need to hurt them tbh.

I don't fancy the chances of that chicken either.

CGORST · 06/01/2015 20:50

I am so glad I came on to this page. I am finding this programme really upsetting and I have been looking forward to it all week. My own dog died on Christmas Day and I'm now looking at getting a puppy. Why do people not research into it. I could cry for some of the puppies who are either being ignored or punished for being, well, puppies. The owner of Byron made it worse at the vets by continually picking him up all the time. The point of taking them there is so that they run round with other dogs! I'm hoping tomorrows programme reaches happy conclusions for them all!!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 06/01/2015 20:51

Surely they need to tell him off at the time? Rather than afterwards.

Whitegrenache · 06/01/2015 20:51

Mmm a chicken attack was one particular time I tapped lovely labs on the nose! Now the chickens and dogs love happily together free range Grin

nocarbsplease · 06/01/2015 20:52

Why are they not giving the puppies anything to do? I feel sorry for little Byron. I've never heard anyone say they were getting a dog to teach about 'life cycles'. Hmm

gailforce1 · 06/01/2015 20:52

thank goodness Ralph's owners have got some help - but an unsuitable dog for that home.

Slongette · 06/01/2015 20:52

This programme has given me the rageAngry

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 06/01/2015 20:53

It's s bit like buying a car thinking driving will come naturally. These people seem to have bought a puppy without giving a seconds thought to what's involved.

Hopefully Ralph will be successful with them. At least they knew they needed to get some help, and acted on it.

NCIS · 06/01/2015 20:54

Those sort of puppy classes are the worst, they need calm adult dogs not free for all with a load of other puppies. That just teaches them to be bullies. Also dogs aren't born speaking English, of course they don't know what No means.
