Should I reopen the happy place cafe?

I'm often awake in the night, today was a lie in for me, only properly awake since 4am.

In lockdown I opened, 'the happy place café where I would make virtual breakfasts and people would come to chat.

When it was last opened my French pastry chef Florence had married Fernando the cocktail waiter.

The kitten bees are inside because it is too old but the bumble cats are in the garden as usual.

SO should I reopen or was just something for lockdown?

@sashh This thread is such a wonderful idea. Have you or any pp have seen ‘It’s Complicated’ with Meryl Streep in (very cheesy rom-com)?Meryl Streep owns a bakery/cafe and it is one of the most aesthetically delightful and wholesome places I have seen. Just sumptuous, homely, delicious and lovely. I’ve always wished a place like that exists in real life.

I imagine your cafe to be just like hers, and you to look just like her 💜

I think I’d better be going as the baby has just gone back to sleep, and I’ve got to be up in three hours. Thanks for the tea - I went for Earl Grey this time and it may just be my new favourite.

Oh yes please to a ploughman's!! I can eat it before tomorrow night's shift.

Luckily my break wasn't interrupted and I was able to eat all of my ramen. It was delicious, thank you!

Meh. Bad dream. Night sweats. General insomnia. <settles on sofa>. Can I have a hot chocolate please? Nice & thick, no whipped cream. But maybe a pastry? Cheesy twist you say … ?

Ooh I hadn’t thought of that. I also volunteer to cuddle babies, or pat dogs. Failing that I’ll just gaze out of the window at the kitten 🐝…

Oh I wish I had seen this when I was up at 3am, menopausal and stupidly had a glass of red wine so crazy disturbed sleep. I really can't do wine anymore.

Ohh I forgot to say thank you for the history of the kitten bees , I love conversations that wander from the realistic to the bizarre, me and my DB have them after a sherry or three 🍷

Morning all.

I'm going for a simple continental breakfast today so hams, cheeses, boiled eggs, pastries from Florence and fruit juice made by Fernando. I recommend the OJ with ginger.

Just dropping in - I am struggling with cruciate ligament problems and am on strong painkillers and rest. I have no idea what time it is half the time and seem to be sleeping at odd times.
i appreciate the lovely breakfast but could I also have a proper Cornish pasty please? One that you have to hold with two hands - not a shitty Greggs one. I have a real need for a proper pasty - no idea why. I am not pregnant and I am in Cheshire!

Traditional - nowt fancy. Would love a dollop of ketchup with it ( I am a heathen)

no cider though - I am teetotal and I am on codeine. But a proper lemonade would be good.

@ColinRobinsonsFart you can't beat a real pasty can you? My brother has lived in Cornwall for 40 years and I have tasted many a good pasty.

god I really could do with one now. I would get a bowl of cereal (not a pasty but will have to do) if I was on non weight bearing crutches…
