I'm not one bit surprised about Richie Anderson - but I cannot STAND him 🙄 I think Sue Barker is a good shout - she's just retired from Wimbledon, I think she would be great! There will surely be a lioness in there too! I think it's very unlikely Laura Kenny will do it - she's had an awful time - miscarriage followed by ectopic last Dec/Jan 😔 I'm guessing she's going to take some time out now with family after Commonwealth Games. I feel exactly the same - just found this thread for the purpose of making the same comment. I think he’s ruined it for me already.

Gooseygirl - I doubt we will see a current Lioness this year - it's not compatible with playing football and even if the time for training and matches could be juggled (which I doubt it could) I doubt their teams would want to risk the potential for injury. We won't see a current player, but maybe a former player Alex Scott has done it so may Rachel Brown-Finnis or Fara Williams.

I don’t know who Richie Anderson is but if he’s that annoying I think the public are pretty good at getting rid of them earlier on, even if they’re ok at dancing. I found Johannes to be quite annoying last year, his “journey” arc seemed much more intense than John’s which was understandable but also took quite a bit of focus off the celebrity which isn’t really the point of the show. If he’s with another annoying person they might combust.

It’s also a shame that every same sex couple so far has been gay / lesbian, it would be nice to show that same sex couples can dance together without it being “a thing”.

Agree. Just can't take to him. Pretty much stopped listening to radio 2 when he's on.

I think Tom Daly might make an appearance. It would round off his year away from diving.

Oh, he does not look like what I expected him to. Had him as a Rob Beckett/Jeff Brazier, all teeth and smiles whereas in that pic he looks serious and brooding and much younger. I hear him on Zoe and he usually gets on my tits but
a) he loves Eurovision as do I
b) his enthusiasm may come across better on TV
c) he wants to do it, not been forced to like Naga
d) I had doubts about A J and adored her
e) just saw his coming out clip and thought that was brave plus he could be light on his feet
f) his partner Dean looks cute

Oh dear lord....when my DH said I'm not sure you'll like this next announcement I just knew it was flipping Richie, he's everywhere on the Beeb at the moment. Always switch over. I actually even listen to radio 2 on my computer so I can listen to Ken Bruce on delay and ffwd Richie's bits. I really hope he's an early out.

Kaye may be too tall for Gio, not sure. Never know whether to take heights into account (Lulu! Colin!)
Had not realised Amy is 5.9 so Will and Karen maybe. I don't want Johannes typecast as always being in the same-sex pairing (unless he asks to be) but Richie is maybe too short for Kai so Graz?

I only recognise Richie because he's been on ITT once or twice. Didn't know the name and thought he was some reality tv person.

I suppose Kym Marsh is sufficiently famous, but I just find her really boring.

Seen Will in Line of Duty, No Offence and a couple of other decent things, but I have somehow managed never to have seen an episode of Hollyoaks or Two Pints.
