Strictly 2022 Sequins at the Ready!

Starting a new thread as can't seem to find one yet, and suddenly feeling very aware that we are likely only days away from line up announcements!

Who do we all think will be on the line up this year? I thought last year was one of the best line ups, a good mix.

Rumours so far include Gino D'Campo, Scarlett Moffat, Steph McGovern, Dawn French..

The first announcements last year were on Wednesday 4th August, so hopefully the same again this year..

Ellie is 4ft and says she will be the first dwarf on Strictly (her words). There is precedent in the States though, Terra danced with Sasha on DWTS six years ago.

Are we ok to use that term? I didn't know.

Apparently she was 4ft 7 just.
Strictly has had some very tall and very short celebs and pros.

Yes, she was with AJ, who I think is about 5' 7". Nikita is about an inch taller, but maybe the shortest current pro.

I saw her documentary and she used it to another parent, when they first knew their son was.., that parent replied, "I knew they were going to be a little person when..." Maybe she has reclaimed it.

She is patron of the Dwarf Sports Association, which talks of the Dwarf World Games etc
so there is context. I understood little person to be the preferred term, but person of restricted growth/short stature synonyms.

Gorka has enough experience to choreo around a height difference and he is 5.6 iirc. Cameron is 5.8 and Nikita 5.9 so I guess she will be paired with Gorks.

I’ve got a lot of time for Karen. When Kevin and Stacey won she was first to him shouting ‘you’ve done it, you’ve done it!’ Class act in my opinion.
Really hope she gets a good one.

Nikita is 5ft 11in, so not as short as you think! I met him after one of his shows a couple of months ago and was surprised how tall he was. I had thought he was one of the shorter pros.

You're right. The metaphor "it takes two to tango" was never more apt. However, I suppose that the difference is Katya never did a stand up routine slagging Neil off, or otherwise commented negatively about the whole business.
