Outlander season 7

The good news is that the the bad news is that season 7 won't be here until summer.

I've not actually read the books beyond volume 4 so don't know what's going to happen, but I presume Claire will live and she and Jamie will carry on as two of the hottest and youngest-looking sixtysomethings to ever hit our screens!

Just watched Ep 6 again. This series is SO much better than S 6.

I just hope they stick to the books for the rest of the series, and S8.

Maggiesgirl · 22/07/2023 21:36

@KillingMeDeftly this season is being shown in two halves. Eight episodes in each half.

The second half will be shown in 2024.

Season 8 is on hold at the moment because if the Writers Strike in the US, so coukd be quite a while before we see the final season.

KillingMeDeftly · 22/07/2023 21:45

Yes I know that @Maggiesgirl, I meant only 2 episodes left for this first half. I hope the next half is screened in early 2024...

I hope so. If its not for another year I will not be happy

Sounds like a scam to keep people subscribed to Lionsgate!

aqiarious · 23/07/2023 09:52

Thanks for the information about the person Roger caught. I would never have guessed Buck.

That is bad news that there's only a couple of episodes left for us this year Sad

Just cancel your subscription as soon as Ep 8 airs, then resubscribe when Ep 9 is going to be shown?

Maggiesgirl · 23/07/2023 12:14

I only subscribe to Lionsgate when Outlander us actually showing. Cancel it in between.

I do the same with Paramount +, subscribe when the Yellowstone spin-off, 1883 and 1923 are showing then cancel.

Oh no! Sinead O'connor dead. I liked her version on the sky boat song better than season 6"s.

Erm the use of Phil Collins in this week's episode, what?!?

OP posts:
KillingMeDeftly · 28/07/2023 10:49

(His music that is, not Phil himself)

MoChridhe · 28/07/2023 12:30

Lol Phil Collins 🤣

Its annoying that they are sticking to the book in a season where I don't want them to. Echo was the worst in my opinion. Too much other characters and not enough Jamie and Claire. I am glad though that TV William is so much nicer and likeable than book William. One of the reasons I hated the book. I skipped over all his parts.

KillingMeDeftly · 28/07/2023 13:18

Buck is a good addition and the actor is very likeable.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD

I've not read the books beyond Drums so I'm only speculating but if Graham McTavish and Lotte Verbeek etc are in this season then I'm guessing Rob has somehow managed to take Jemmy back to a pre-Claire Lallybroch? Ugh, can't believe that after next week we have to wait until 2024!

No Outlander next week but the week after

MoChridhe · 28/07/2023 14:27

I read somewhere that Lionsgate+ will be free on Sky for 3 months. Let me find the article.

I am also watching The Great. Its very good

MoChridhe · 28/07/2023 15:15

Who else thought Roger in a kilt was sexy hot?

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 28/07/2023 16:54

I can't believe we only get one more episode this year - just as its getting really good!

Samaritans999 · 28/07/2023 18:27

The episode was great until they played Phil Collins and now all I can see is a gorilla drumming!

Roger in a kilt needs to be something we get to see more of.

Feministwoman · 28/07/2023 19:03

Well that was fun!

This series is SO much better than the last two!
Claire voice over doing explaining works so well.
And yes William is much nicer on screen for this series, than he was in this series book (although, he does get much better in later books)

Feministwoman · 28/07/2023 19:05

I thought the Roger and Bree sex scene was good! (but I remember doing similar to that music, cos I am old🤣)

IwantToRetire · 29/07/2023 15:46

I cant say how bored I was by this episode. I know it was meant to be exciting, but really Bree and Roger and so inadequate as lead characters, and although I think the scripts for Jame and Claire are just lazy re-hashes, they are still more interesting.

However, I hadn't even thought of the plot twist it ended on so will tune in for the next episode - which I suppose will end with a cliff hanger to keep us interested enought to come back in a year!

IwantToRetire · 29/07/2023 15:53

2 different UK tv web sites are still saying episode 8 will be on 4 August.

IwantToRetire · 29/07/2023 15:57

Earlier in this thread I said I didn't hink much of this series version of the theme song.

But after the sad news of Sinead O'Connor's death I heard it reallly differently. :'(

Just so sad.
