Outlander season 7

The good news is that the the bad news is that season 7 won't be here until summer.

I've not actually read the books beyond volume 4 so don't know what's going to happen, but I presume Claire will live and she and Jamie will carry on as two of the hottest and youngest-looking sixtysomethings to ever hit our screens!

I'm really hoping the final season is very Jaime and Claire centred. They have killed off any of the other characters I cared about seasons ago!

What Bree has found underground? More singing stones? Presumably she didn't go through to the past as she didn't have a gemstone with her?

I found this

SPOILER

this episode annoyed me "let's not check the history books to find out what happened" bawling her eyes out while she's sat in front of a box full of letters clearly showing the don't die at this battle!

Can they write Bri out?

I found that annoying too.

GreenEyedGiant · 20/07/2023 18:49

Only just caught up on this season over the past few days. What is the story with Jemmie? What is he seeing at Lallybroch?

Also, nobody seems to have mentioned this but the intro song has to be one of the worst versions yet! I think I say that every season but this one is awful.

Munchyseeds2 · 20/07/2023 19:20

I don't like the intro song either.

Maggiesgirl · 20/07/2023 19:24

It's Sinead O'connor singing the title music. Can't say I'm a fan either.

aqiarious · 20/07/2023 19:32

Another who doesn't like this song version.

Is the new episode up yet? I think it's tomorrow isn't it.

Maggiesgirl · 20/07/2023 19:58

Yes, new one drops on a Friday. There is a week missing between episodes 7&8 I believe though.

ZombieBeryl · 20/07/2023 20:03

Delurking to say I love the new song version. Guess I'm in a minority though! 🙂

IwantToRetire · 20/07/2023 20:11

Hadn't realised it was Sinead O'connor. I assumed it was some newbie aspiring grunge vocalist trying to be alternative!

IwantToRetire · 20/07/2023 20:16

What is the story with Jemmie? What is he seeing at Lallybroch?

I dont know because Roger mumbles so, but he references sprites or spirits from the Northern Isles. Maybe someone who had sub titles on could let us know.

Funnily enough when we had Bree's electrical experience in the tunnel I didn't think it was another time vortex, I immediately assumed it was a pathway to the Northern Isles.

Which having now checked out the tweet about lay lines makes me think I am more intuitive than I ever realised.

But am more than prepared to be disproved tomorrow.

Thanks!

IwantToRetire · 21/07/2023 16:35

Well thanks to VM getting ahead of itself was able to watch episode 6 last night.

Wont say anything plot specific for those watching this evening, but a better all round episode (IMO)

Also for question up thread re who or what is eating the crisps in Lallybroch I understand or Roger suspects they are "Nuckelavee" and part of Orkney forlklore.

IwantToRetire · 21/07/2023 16:37

There is a week missing between episodes 7&8 I believe though.

These are being advertised as 28/7 & 4/8 and then later episodes some time in 2024.

Which reminds me I need to cancel my Lionsgate sub via VM as they will make me give a month's notice. Should have been paying attention.

Feministwoman · 21/07/2023 20:29

Well I'm enjoying this series much more than 6. Sticking to Herself words much more, really works.

aqiarious · 21/07/2023 20:32

I'm enjoying it too. Though who was that at the end caught by Roger?

IwantToRetire · 21/07/2023 20:35

Though who was that at the end caught by Roger?

That was the question I wanted to ask but didn't want to give anything away.

I got distracted thinking it was finished not realising he was going to go chasing into the bushes.

I am sure those who are good with names and faces will let us know, but suspect from the clothing it was an acccidental time traveller or a hippie who hadn't realised it was now 80s!

Samaritans999 · 21/07/2023 20:36

I think it's someone from the past who has travelled forwards but no idea who

KillingMeDeftly · 21/07/2023 20:37

SPOILER ALERT for those who've not seen the episode...

I'm pretty sure that's Buck MacKenzie, son of Dougal and Geilis and the man responsible for Roger's hanging a few seasons ago. That would explain why Roger punched him.

OP posts:
Maggiesgirl · 21/07/2023 21:51

Yep Buck Mckenzie. Loved this episode. Richard Rankin is a brilliant actor.

KillingMeDeftly · 22/07/2023 07:13

He's not played by Graham McTavish anymore but they've made the new actor look enough like him that I figured out who it was.

ComeTheFckOnBridget · 22/07/2023 10:53

I like Roger much more in this series, I've not been that keen on him before...Maybe he's just much more confident in his own day.

If it follows the books, there's a reason he's not played by Graham McT

KillingMeDeftly · 22/07/2023 17:52

Intriguing @Labtastic. I know GMcT and several other cast members from earlier seasons are reappearing this season. But they'd better hurry up as there's only two episodes left!
