Love this

took me a ages to know what the lioki in the corner meant

🙀🙀🙀😂😂😂

Tim and Heather's LIOLI was disappointing but I kinda don't mind because this does happen in life so it felt real.

I did question the wisdom of spending £30k on the bathrooms and the laundry room because I would think potential buyers might want to sort the layout out.

I too very much want to see the house they bought.

MrsDrDear · 19/01/2023 19:51

@Blondeshavemorefun Oops sorry! I hadn't even noticed the tread title.

I was just surprised to see the next episode available.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2023 10:25

No worries @MrsDrDear I got title changed

I usually write weekly and didn't for once

I wonder if Tim and Heather's house actually sold in the end. It must have been public knowledge about the potential road, that would put me off however long it may be in the future.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2023 23:04

It must have sold

Tho of like the road near me. They explained an A road and brought people out or paid them silly money

Someone would have brought it

Possibly even property /road developers

There’s no record of a sale, the Zoopla sold prices for the area look like this - nothing between July 2022 and 2018.

I initially thought it must be the first one, but that is actually a herb garden and gin distillery- which looks lovely!

I don’t see it listed for sale though either. Maybe they are renting it it.

The premise of the programme is a bit daft really because if you, with the help of Phil, find a house you absolutely love and decide to list your own to buy it, because all that takes time , the house you fell in love with and you want to buy will probably have been sold to someone else by then.

That's a very good point @LadyEloise1 😂

Unless they know they want to list and get a bridge loan or how much do they get paid on this show

I think that the issue arises because people are so used to seeing Location Location, where the couples are viewing with the intention to buy immediately. So in LOLI they interact with Phil and evaluate the houses in the same way as they are used to seeing on Location, and we as viewers automatically think that way too. If you listen carefully to how K&P and the voiceovers phrase things, they do make it clear that the houses shown are just representative. I also I like that the viewings also sometimes give them ideas for what they could do to their own house.

But I do sometimes wonder if they work with some couples who see a house with Phil, fall in love with it and decide just to sell their own without doing any work, in order not to miss out- those ones would never make it to broadcast!

Samcro · 22/01/2023 08:56

the last episode was a waste of time.
I am starting to prefer the Australian version.

LadyEloise1 · 22/01/2023 10:13

@Catnary
You are right. The houses Phil shows them are just representing what they could buy with their budget.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2023 09:50

E4 tonight

Sue and Richard in maplerley

Their beautiful home is now not suitable after Richard had a cycling accident 🥲

Does this mean he is in a wheelchair and sleeping downstairs

Turmerictolly · 25/01/2023 20:12

So tragic that their lives were changed in an instant. Such a beautiful house too but not accessible. Wonder what Kirsty will do - stair lift perhaps.

jay55 · 25/01/2023 20:20

Gorgeous house but they should totally be on LLL for a bungalow and not doing any building work.

jay55 · 25/01/2023 20:33

I feel quite annoyed on the chaps behalf, that he has to put up with the building work, when he already has so many challenges.

But I can also, awfully, see the wife might be looking to what life without her husband might mean, and how she'll need to have her family close by.

Catlady2021 · 25/01/2023 20:41

Quite sad tonight. Poor man.

Polkadotties · 25/01/2023 20:43

This wife is so selfish! Her poor husband needs a bungalow and she is being a stubborn cow

Turmerictolly · 25/01/2023 20:44

That past bungalow is amazing and would be perfect for their needs.

Catlady2021 · 25/01/2023 20:47

The wife doesn’t want to move

Turmerictolly · 25/01/2023 20:47

Last not past.

I think the pp is right - she might be looking ahead to when she is on her own. However, I'm sure that last one was only 7 miles away?

longtompot · 25/01/2023 20:49

Anyone recognise the rug in the second house, in the main living room? It looks a kilim style but not found any like it yet. I'll pop a screenshot up later if anyone missed it.

RandomMess · 25/01/2023 20:49

If they move away all the driving and traveling will be on Sue.

Andanotherone01 · 25/01/2023 20:53

The house doesn’t look much different to me (more space wise - they haven’t actually created any!) The house still looks completely unsuitable for Richard’s needs.

stemthetide · 25/01/2023 20:55

Didn't they say her mother lives nearby? She must be a good age. I can well understand why she doesn't want to move. She's had a lot to cope with.

The modern bungalows look lovely though and their lives would be easier in that respect.

jay55 · 25/01/2023 20:55

I hate the loo.

And the kitchen still looks as cramped, even though it's a kitchen dinner, the prep space is still boxed in.

I mean it's massive compared to my kitchen, but my mobility issues are nothing like his.
