1 million budget? Not surprising though, given what they’ve already got.

jay55 · 18/01/2023 20:40

This one really is totally unrelatable.
Nice property porn though.

Heather is an investment manager and Tim is an insurance broker. They both look older so I assume settled in careers and earning well.

These properties are stunning! With the road plans and Heather seems open minded, I think they will list it.

Youremyshininglight · 18/01/2023 20:43

Loving all the beautiful views from these houses. I would love that bath!

Catlady2021 · 18/01/2023 20:48

The A road proposal is a huge spanner in the works. Could be hard to sell for obvious reasons.
Or atleast until the decision is made or work’s completed. It could take a few years before the road is completed, let alone waiting for the objections to go in.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2023 20:52

Lovely views

Omg to have that kind of money

That first house was so beautiful but just think of the energy bills! I guess they're not short of a bob or two though. Would have been nice to get a glimpse of the house they finally bought.

LillianGish · 18/01/2023 21:17

Another unsatisfactory episode imo. They didn't really transform their own house (or even the bathrooms in time for the update) and we didn't find out what they bought. Phil showed them a house that had already been sold and a building site - and all this despite them having a budget of £1 million. I am very disappointed with this series so far.

burnoutbabe · 18/01/2023 21:22

All I could think was, how did they access the main bedroom (behind the kitchen) as there didn't seem any access to it. Plus they said you had to go through the do I g roon /kitchen to access any bedroom which I couldn't see on the plans presented.

And yes fairly rubbish as all they did was do up 2 bathrooms!

Oh Noe's we have 4 bedrooms and no space!! They had enough room for bedroom each, one for guests and one as an office. I really couldn't see their issues!

Catnary · 18/01/2023 22:44

I don’t understand why they couldn’t tell us more about the property that they were moving to- old or new, work needed, does the bathroom have scope for a tub with a view, maybe show a few pictures? It was weirdly mysterious. Maybe keeping powder dry for a “Revisited” in a few years’ time.

I enjoyed seeing Phil in his full-on “country gent” clobber.

I also expected Heather to be up the duff again by the time they went back. I suspect he had a vision of a large family of rosy cheeked kids who love ponies, I felt that Heather might be giving up investment managing pretty soon to concentrate on popping the kids out, as neither of them was a spring chicken.

LadyEloise1 · 18/01/2023 23:29

I agree it was a disappointing episode. They could have showed us the house they bought.

lollipoprainbow · 18/01/2023 23:39

I really thought they would show the house at the end, very disappointed !

Senseofnopurpose · 19/01/2023 04:46

3rd disappointing episode in a row.
Hope the producers are not showing the best episodes first!

Noseylittlemoo · 19/01/2023 05:55

I love Location and enjoy seeing all the properties but I find the concept of LIOLI a bit disappointing. Phil shows them properties essentially saying with your proposed budget you could get this. But even if they fell in love with the 1st property he shows them they can't decide to make an offer cos their own house is not on the market and in some cases part way through a refurb. I was actually surprised at last night's episode as I thought what they were looking for was pretty niche and I wondered how often suitable properties come to the market. Like pp I would have liked to see the place they eventually picked.

lollipoprainbow · 19/01/2023 06:21

Love location but agree LIOLI is a bit odd! 9/10 the people decide to love it so Phil showing them what they could get is a waste of time !

Pipsquiggle · 19/01/2023 06:33

The bungalow last night did have an appalling layout. Whoever bought that property was for the outbuildings and land
I think she fell out of love with the property when the road was being proposed, it certainly makes you look at things differently

lollipoprainbow · 19/01/2023 08:40

Tim was desperate to move, his face when she said maybe we could stay if the road doesn't get built !

LadyEloise1 · 19/01/2023 08:47

K or P did allude to a difficult time for the couple as they were sitting at the table at the end or just at the intro to that. But nothing specific was mentioned.

LillianGish · 19/01/2023 09:07

LIOLI is about seeing a fantastic transformation of an existing property (this isn't necessarily about having the biggest budget, but about seeing Kirsty's innovative tricks and design ideas) ideally with a bit of property porn thrown in - seeing what you can get for your money compared to where the featured family is currently living even if it's not exactly what they asked for. Again, that's not necessarily about budget (in fact I like seeing what you can get for your money in different parts of the country). I don't actually care if they love or list - I tend to think if the transformation works and you've lived through the stress of the build then why would you move - but I want to see stuff. Stabling, land and outbuildings is a pretty niche interest - I'd rather see ordinary people in ordinary homes.

Catlady2021 · 19/01/2023 10:18

So Tim and Heather must have presumably sold their property with the road issues? Hence then buying a new property.

I like the show as it’s escapism ,especially on a winters evening, but it’s also quite pointless about the whole’ love it or list it’ question because the couples could change their minds the next day anyway.

Also the properties they see probably would be sold by the time they’ve sold their own houses anyway, but I know it’s about Phil showing them what they could get for their budgets.

Phasechamber · 19/01/2023 12:06

I’m confused as to whether they sold their property before buying the new one. If so, how did they manage that if the bathrooms weren’t completed?! Did I miss something?

Phasechamber · 19/01/2023 12:07

What I mean is - could they afford to
buy the new property without selling the existing one?

MrsDrDear · 19/01/2023 12:12

The next episode was available On Demand, did anyone else watch it?

SPOILER

It was a very unfair outcome, didn't solve the issue as far as I'm concerned.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/01/2023 15:26

Agree not the best

can only think started filming in 2020 and lockdown

tho why they couldn’t show or tell us more of the house

agree if they do a revisit there will be more kids
