I am so excited I am literally sitting here bouncing after watching the 2nd trailer

It's OK I know I'm sad, especially as I really want the "Gene says relax" T-Shirt

OP posts:

fuck me that made me jump!! Hate shop mannequins

Thediaryofanobody · 23/04/2010 21:55

I actually have a phobia of mannequins thank god for online shopping.

rubytwokids · 23/04/2010 22:02

Right, that's it: I can take no more of this. What is going on? Keats was creeping me out, what with him always being in the dark and gloom, threatening Gene and looking like he's fled from the afterlife, but in today's episode the man looked genuinely sad. OK, so he still creeps me out. I suspect I've now just developed sympathy for the devil.

nigglewiggle · 23/04/2010 22:04

That was genius. I remember it so well. To think it was Gene all along .

PictureThis · 23/04/2010 22:05

Strange how he 'soothed' Louise when she died - made me think he was some kind of gatekeeper.

PictureThis · 23/04/2010 22:06

Keats I mean. Sorry, worked a night shift last night and not been to bed yet, brain is addled

BitOfFun · 23/04/2010 22:30

Is anyone a member of The Railway Arms forum? I am trying to sign up to get the mad rantings fans' theories, but I just keep getting a weird message.

NoseyNooNoo · 23/04/2010 22:37

Just took a look - I suspect they've exceeded their server space.

Thediaryofanobody · 23/04/2010 22:44

I'm a member (well a lurker really) on the railway arms BOF I getting a funny message too but it was up and running fine a few weeks ago.

jenduff · 23/04/2010 22:49

lottie wasn't it kayharker that used to write the steamy stories? Did enjoy those

Am having to re-read this thread to pick up on the bits that i didn't pick up on while watching.

SugarSkyHigh · 23/04/2010 22:52

I'm a member of The Railway Arms - the site regularly crashes just after an episode of A2A airs on TV, bear with it, it should be ok by tomorrow!

KayHarker · 23/04/2010 22:53

Railway Arms always goes down ont' night, it'll be better tomorrow.

i am indeed the filthy mind that came up with all the fanfic with rude bits in. Sadly, I'm not feeling it much this third series, although there was a moment ths evenin which looked a little more positive.

Hate slimy Keats, though.

BitOfFun · 23/04/2010 22:55

Ah, I see.

Oh well- we will have to come up with our own theories then!

How about Keats as the Angel Of Death? Sun shining out of his arse and all. Louise refused the protection of Gene's team so she carks it? Gene as a Guardian Angel? Or maybe Gene is the gatekeeper to Heaven, and Keats to Hell?

edam · 23/04/2010 23:04

Blue Peter Garden stuff made me chortle. At least they didn't burst into the studios shouting 'armed bastards'.

Keats did look very suspicious when he was holding the dying copper. Always reminds me of some actor playing a young Kray twin (the psychopathic one). Not the Kemps, something else.

Agree re. the clothes, Alex's top was spookily similar to one I was wearing when I met dh (as he tactfully reminded me).

That sounds quite convincing.

edam · 23/04/2010 23:13

I keep thinking Keat's name must be a reference - can't think of anything obvious about the poet (although it's a long time since Eng Lit A level), are there any others?

A quick google says: "Most likely this refers to the cherubims in Genesis who guarded the way back to the Tree of Life after the fall into sin by Adam and Eve.

Genesis 3 v24 - After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life."

rubytwokids · 23/04/2010 23:25

BoF and Reality, I am leaning that way too. Reality, your 'flaming ring of flamey flameness' post made me snort with laughter.

Thediaryofanobody · 23/04/2010 23:26

Oh Reality sounds like your onto something with that theory!

BitOfFun · 23/04/2010 23:28

Or Uriel-
"Uriel presides over Hades and obviously holds the keys to the bottomless pit. It is not surprising since he is also known to be as pitiless as any demon ever thought about being."

and

"In the Old Testament and Hebrew tradition he is the angel guarding the Tree of Life holding a flaming sword. This makes him a member of the cherubim since we know God placed a cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24).

According to The Revelation of Moses he is one of the angels at Adam?s repentance and along with Gabriel, Raphael and Michael helped bury Adam and Abel in Paradise.

Although he was considered one of the seven archangels in the early Christian church he is not actually named in the Bible. For this reason and the fact that the church was afraid there was to much of a tendency toward angel worship, the council in Rome in 745 CE demoted Uriel along with several other angels and they became known as the reprobated angels."

BitOfFun · 23/04/2010 23:29
Shock
BitOfFun · 23/04/2010 23:33

Ooh, and Gene refused to allow Chris to sell his soul to the devil, even though it meant the death of his career.

But Chris is clearly being tempted by Satan, calling him 'Guv'...
