I think the writers have been clever with how they are changing our perceptions towards the characters - i.e making us actually feel sorry for Ben. Also I remember Miles being an arrogant idiot when he first appeared but now he is one of my fave characters - I love his one-liners that he comes out with every now and again

Am totally confused though - and did wonder last night that if the writers knew exactly how it was going to end when they first started hence the random things that were thrown in - what would have happened if one of the key actors had died/been unable to continue filming or something in the 6 years that they have been filming it - quite risky I think.

Also - do you think it is significant that in the 'non-plane crash' world some of the characters display opposite traits to the ones they have on the island.

Eg Sawyer - Island- conman/ mainland - cop,

Hurley - Island, a follower/ Mainland - Business boss.

Charlotte - Island - wet scientist/ Mainland - vampy adventurer...

Locke - Island - leader/ Mainland - defeated and fired.

Do you think I'm on to something here? Do you? Do you????

just watched the latest episode online, it is a richard centric one and does actually answer a few questions, look out for what jacob has to say about the island

Does that mean that Jacob is God? I'm still not sure what the island is supposed to be this is too confusing for me.

I was a bit bored with the Richard flashback but the last 10 mns were great.

Hurley is fast shaping to be the pivotal character in the history of the world- if what Jacob said about the island is true (I'm still not entirely convinced- him and the man in black remind me too much of Greek gods toying with humans for their own personal entertainment). He's the only one who can communicate with dead Jacob and this week he managed to 'save' Richard by talking with his dead wife.

yeah, maynbe you're right... I think I was just missing Sawyer this week. It's an odd season this isn't it? I kind of miss the originals with all this focus on Jacob and Richard and MIB etc....

PuppyMonkey it's all a bit disjointed isn't it? I'm still enjoying it but kind of wish there were more characters in each episode rather than them just dealing with one character's story each time.

Although Freak that is how it all started dedicating each episode to one character, so I like it,
although do agree that they sort of crammed everything into the end of last nights

so now i have caught up - i have spent the last week of my life watching lost season 5 on dvd then catching up with all the lost season 6 so far - wow its fab but im still so confused - im up to episode 9 so how many more is there?

so now i fancy - jin ,sawyer,jack and miles lots of reasons to tune in

have no clue who to trust ,locke aka the black smoke - or jacob or richard.

I am sure someone on here has said that the producers knew where they were going from the start....but I was browsing on Wikipedia last night and Richard was only intended to be in a few episodes in S3. He was then contracted to another channel/tv series but when that was cancelled, the Lost producers decided to use him again. So if they had a plan from the start - how could Richard be such an integral part of it if he wasn't meant to still be in it now

I am loving this series too - do you think Hurley is the successor to Jacob hence his 'magical' powers? Or is that too obvious?

Lucykate that blog pretty much summed up what I was feeling. I really hope the heaven/hell storyline is a smokescreen as I feel it is a very lazy answer to what has been such a compelling story.
