Seeing as how we only have a few weeks to wait now!
I have Season 7 synopsis here it's only a short recap of episodes but it was enough to remind me of a few things I had forgotten!

Namely Tony being 'good' all along and wanting revenge for (pregnant) Michelle, and Renee going into the interogation room with a very 'Jack' expression on to 'ersuade' Wilson to confess. Oh, and in the dull presidential bits that's skanky moo daughter getting in the shit for ordering a hit. (hey, that rhymes!)
So, anyone know when it is starting on Sky? In US I think it's the 17th so we would normally get it on the 24th and 25th but can't find listings!

OP posts:
sockmonkey · 25/01/2010 13:24

Did you see the clip at the end though with Renee looking all bad-ass striding away from a car? Can't wait to see if she shows up soon.

PBM - you have a point, they must be pretty daft at new CTU if all you have to do is move house & change your name.

As a big fan of X-files back in the 90s was very excited to see Eugene Tooms as the baddie. I wonder if he can still sneek up toilet pipes?

EssenceOfJack · 25/01/2010 14:34

Early days but quite pleasantly surprised, loving Cole!

Renee will be back! I reckon Jack will need hr to help him as stroppy boss won't give him any help apart form CHloe, who he thinks is a waste of space (haha)
Chloe was awesome, I am loving her flouncing
slightly concerned that it only takes one member of statt, who has been working there for a month, to allow someone into the suspiciously unmanned CTU armory...
And the reporter was talking to someone.

sock, I thought that about the brother, and Eugene, that's so funny! He's the ultimate assasin!

So are we agreed security guy and wifey have ahd it then? I like her.
And is that it with kim? has she gone? hahahahahaha DH is not happy! But that little girl was very cute.

ceb80 · 25/01/2010 15:05

Loved it!
Agree with brother and wifey theory and Renee is def going to Jack's next port of call so to speak!

PlumBumMum · 25/01/2010 17:01

Oh I wondered where I had seen him before, he was in the Green mile too
and President was chris tarrant in slumdog Millionare

ohfuschia · 25/01/2010 19:04

Hmmm sockmonkey, think you could be right - boxers would be more adaptable if something like a makeshift tourniquet were needed. Unless he goes commando? must stop thinking about pants situation.

And mention of the portable took me back to watching Season 1 perched on the end of DP's bed, the last thing we watched on a Sunday night before I went home - fond memories.

Agree about the lax security at CTU - I've got a friend who works for GCHQ and her interview process was over a year with them vetting so far into her background that they travelled to her parents home country to interview extended family. Ok so perhaps I haven't managed to suspend disbelief enough yet, must practise in time for next week.

And poor poor Edgar, every time I see Chloe I just hear him... 'Chlowee!!' (sob)

BooHooMonkey · 26/01/2010 00:08

THANKYOU PBM Was wracking my brains to think who he was!

skiffler · 27/01/2010 21:15

In a spectacular mismanagement I ended up being in a hotel without Sky on Sunday night! Fortunately, V+ to the rescue so I've just caught up on all the action.

I've always had my doubts about the CTU recruitment process - they always seem to hire at least one mole per series, and hiring someone who has - gasp! - changed their name and not told anyone seems par for the course.

Interesting to see that Jack Bauer, one-man terrorist fighting machine, saviour of Democracy, Freedom and the American Way, resorts to the TV to entertain a three-year-old child after only an hour or so... DH reckons he would have resorted to torture by then...

damnitdamnit · 28/01/2010 06:34

Just could not stay up on Sunday i was so tired. Watched 1 monday and 1 on tuesday. Had to keep stopping it as DD2 9 weeks didnt seem to like me watching it. Only way i could get to watch it was to keep feeding her

I am not sure what i think. It didnt seem to grab me like in previous episodes but think some of that could be put down to DD2. Might watch it again on Sky anytime to make sure i caught it all!

kittya · 28/01/2010 23:21

Well, the first episode was disappointing but it has picked up I think.

audreyraines · 29/01/2010 15:59

Hi, i'm just checking in to mark my spot. I'm not reading the posts, because due to non-sleeping children and workaholic dh, i have not watched the first episodes yet. I hope to rectify this shortly between the hours of 2am and 4am, which are my free hours that should be spent sleeping, but because i am hardcore like jack, i will shun sleep and watch 24 so i can catch up with all you lot.

sockmonkey · 29/01/2010 18:38

Managed to have baby on wednesday, so as not to interfere with watching 24. The only problem being if it gets complicated, baby brain may not keep up!
Sorry to disapoint, but no 24 stylee name. Gone for Naomi Bronwyn... but will train her up to kick butt

BooHooMonkey · 29/01/2010 18:39

Congratulations sockmonkey!

nomorecake · 29/01/2010 23:16

every time i see that actor i always call him Eugene (and DH looks at me like i'm crazy) its the one x files episode that really stuck in my memory!

the indian actor was quite woodern and forced.

totally agree about the blonde ctu woman. i mean wasnt she vetted before she too the job??
(btw, wasnt that actress in battlestar galactica but with short hair?)

damnitdamnit · 30/01/2010 06:31

congratulations sockmonkey!

PlumBumMum · 31/01/2010 11:50

Congrats Sockmonkey

PBM glares at Audrey (on laptop too futtery t don Rennee name) Anyway make sure you catch up for tonight

Just getting this back on I'm on for tonight

EssenceOfJack · 31/01/2010 19:20

congrats sockmonkey!! Nice timing! (name?...)

I am at IL@s and finally have internet access as well, so it is all falling into place

MIL is in hospital atm as she had a very serious stroke last week, but she has asked us to record 24 for her, so we know she is feeling much better today

sockmonkey · 31/01/2010 19:21

nomorecake - yes she was Starbuck on BSG. DH loves her. She was also on that new Bionic Woman.

May not get to watch tonight, but will try and watch tomorrow... another double episode isn't it?

ceb80 · 31/01/2010 20:45

Just marking my place.
So tired think we'll only watch one tonight 10 month old DS has given up sleeping in favour of soaking his cot in drool and snot!
Congratulations sockmonkey. We actually toyed with giving DS Bauer as a middle name

ohfuschia · 31/01/2010 22:15

Congratulations sockmonkey! Beautiful name. If you teach Naomi to emulate how Renee is in the trailers then she will kick butt I reckon.

Well into this now, suckered as usual.

PlumBumMum · 31/01/2010 23:20

Oh feck Renee scared the shit out of dh,
WTF I think she even scared Jack

What was the crack with her arms, self harm or drugs???

acting is getting better and they ditched the cheesy intro guy (do you think they are reading our thread)

ohfuschia · 01/02/2010 00:46

Yep on second thoughts maybe sockmonkey won't want her girl copying Renee after that little performance.

Not sure about the arms. Agree that the acting has improved, the scenes seem smoother, though the basketball court made me cringe a bit.

EssenceOfJack · 01/02/2010 10:44

Jeeheeezus!

It's all Jack's fault as well, he made her go a bit strange when he told her to threaten that baby and I think her moral compass has gone awol!
I reckon self harm on her arms as she knows she is nto right in the head.
Loving that Jack is going to have a partner who is even more nutso/good at torture than he is

Bit weird that the brother was able to wander off making didgy calls adn get into a strange cab without being spotted, espeically in the middle of security threat
And the more they go on and on about Starbuck she less likely it is she would have ever got that job!

loving Chloe still.

PlumBumMum · 01/02/2010 11:02

oh Chloe is going to rumble her, me thinks, looked like she was just walking out in the middle of a crisis

ceb80 · 01/02/2010 12:05

Chloe rocks! Her facial expressions are just priceless. Ended up watching both episodes as I knew we would!
Will Jack ever get on the plane to LA - I don't think so

BlingLoving · 01/02/2010 17:00

HELLO!!!

I am embarassingly thrilled to have been in the original round up of last season hard core fans! And cannot believe it's taken more four episodes to log on. DH and I are watching religously as ever, although I will admit we nearly forgot last night but then got all over excited when we realised that instead of sitting on the couch and talking to each other, we could watch Jack! "Bond with husband" vs "Watch Jack"? It's a no brainer.

All those boxer vs briefs debaters from earlier - Commando. No doubt in my mind whatsoever. I cannot believe you would even think about it. And his jeans are REAL jeans, none of this namby pamby denim that the rest of us wear that's been washed to be all soft and comfortable. he could leopard crawl through the dessert in his denim and still come out looking fresh the other side...

.... kind of like he did after being beat to a pulp by the cop last night? That took serious effort to suspend disbelief, even for me!

I don't want to cast aspersions, but does anyone else think an awful LOT happens in one hour? And there are never traffic issues!

But I love that Jack is so hardcore he can kill 3 people in 2 hours and then calmy say, "right, I'm off to catch a plane to Los Angelos. Good luck from here on in". I love that.
