Not so keen on the new format. I liked the bit at the end when R gave them feedback / slated them. Now it is just 'x you're going'.

hmmm, thought this was rather blatant sexism. The 'you can't cope' girls were not any worse than the playboys... RB always identifies with cocky young men...

Completely agree re the format this year - iirc, there seemed to be a lot more guidance last time whereas this year, they have just been chucked in and told to get on with it. There was more time spent budgeting, planning and interviewing before they were let loose on the public I'm sure.

A shame.

Am very disappointed with this series. What's the point in waiting until contestants are three episodes in to tell them you don't think their restaurant concept makes sense? Either boot them out at interview and choose someone who HAS got a workable idea, or give them a chance to adjust their premise.

They should definitely show more behind the scenes discussion to illustrate why the Sloaney girl who could cook (but didn't know you can't buy fish on Monday) was more of a professional liability than a barman who wasn't even cooking in his own kitchen. (Scotch eggs? Seriously? Makes Sorbets and Seasons look like genius.) Otherwise it's blatant 'keep the amusing losers in' TV tactics, and I can't be bothered to watch that, in this instance. TR was one of the few reality TV competitions where you did actually feel you were learning something about how restaurants work.

Such a disappointing series so far. They started with too few people who could actually be potential winners.

I don't mind the fact they have dumped The Challenge but did like the way, last year, that he interviewed each couple and gave them feedback before kicking one out.

I thought it unfair that the two girls were given such a poor location (by comparison) and with an oven that didn't work to start with. At least they served food up and kept the whole thing going - unlike the spotty fops who not only failed dismally but lied to RB when he asked how things were going.

I'd have kicked them out and given the girls at least one more chance.

Hard to know who is going to win as they are all pretty desperate (Masterchef makes them look so poor by comparison).

Oh and why don't they call their restaurant Barney and Badger - sounds so much better.

Those two are very suspect. I think the producers have told RB to leave them in for ratings/entertainment value. I don't have a lot of faith in this series, it's a shame the girls went I think they deserved a chance. They use their brains and they work hard. Unlike those two floppy haired boys.
