still dont really understand the plot - even after i watched every episode of series 1

the bloke typing in the mirror - who does olivia think he is?

who is he meant to be?

who is doing the replying in the mirror?

blondes brain just cant cope

I quite enjoyed last nights, but have only ever seen few x files episodes so no comparison thankfully. Really wish they would get going with the storyline before I forget that there is one.

I thought I had it. I thought Walter had gone into the "other" universe and stolen Peter, which I still think he did.

But now it looks like the observers somehow caused Peter to die, and therefore "allowed" Walter to steal the other version.

But But I could be wrong

I think the original Peter died when the car went into the lake and the observers only saved Walter, after which Walter went and got the alternative Peter which is why he is worried the observers are going to kill him/return him to redress the rightful balance or what have you. Was a good episode wasn't it, hopefully more of the same this week.

I have only just gotten into this having rented the box set last weekend. I love it and how gorgeous is Joshua Jackson.

I can't believe that some of the episodes have had me bawling!

Meggle, what do you think you saw? I noticed her look at him a little funny, but I just thought we saw the sun behind him distorting our view?

LostGirl, I like that idea, I had thought Peter died from an illness, but in an accident caused by the observers makes a better tie in as to why they've "ignored" him taking the other one.

Annie there was a light flare behind him but he had a tiny glowing bead on his face-

She mentioned when she was under that "they" glowed- so he is one of them from the other side but she mentioned the one sthat glowed were soldiers hmmm.

It made me shudder, I am loving the relationship/s that they are slowburning in the background.

I have no recollection of the 'glowing soldiers', but I have very little recollection of most of the series! Are you sure that it wasn't just the general halo of gorgeousness that normally surrounds Joshua Jackson ?

So, do we know what these soldiers are?

i will re watch as havent erased from sky+

but this blonde is confuddled

and hasnt come back on my sky+ planner so isnt it on this week/well next week iyswim?

I noticed that it wasn't on sky planner as well, but didn't they do this with the first series, and have a completely random break in the middle of it for a couple of months?

Hi all, Sky planner is showing it's back on Sunday this week, so we can all breathe again.

LSD lady saw a glow around Peter after saying she recognised people from the other side......pity she didn't challenge Walter about it at the time. Thanks, LostGirl, for the idea about how/why Peter got stolen. I thought it was to do with the fact that Peter was really sick when he was a kid, and when he died Walter went over and stole the alternative version, but like your idea about it being an accident. Or maybe the Observers were supposed to save him from being sick....they knew he was special and failed in their mission to keep him alive. God, what am I writing? So far fetched.....except this is Fringe....

I think what I like most about this programme is the way the central relationship is between Peter and his father rather than they typical boy/girl scenario.

ooh this has been interesting as have only watched most of series one so far.

Though in one of the earlier episodes Walter does say that there was a car crash into a lake. He managed to get free but Peter didn't. And that Peter was technically dead when they did get him out. I think baldy observer guy was around and helped- though that last bit may be wrong, but someone definately helped Walter by either getting Peter out the lake themselves or helping him do it.

I suppose at the time the assumption was supposed to be that they managed to revive him as Walter mentioned the water was freezing cold which is used in other programmes as to why they could revive the technically dead as there was no immediate decaying in the body.

I am looking forward to season 2
