He's going to tell us on friday, apparently.

Alambil · 09/09/2009 22:46

I wish they'd show HOW he did it, seeing as the balls were on display - maybe he had someone in that suit you can get that makes them vanish on films putting the numbers on the balls lol - there's absolutely no magic in it and now I'm annoyed that I don't know how he did it..... I mean, I think he's quite dodgey myself but that was kinda cool

CharCharGabor · 09/09/2009 22:50

can't wait to see the programme on Friday. I love him so much!

PortBlacksandResident · 09/09/2009 22:58

Didn't the American Illusionist do something similar on Jonathan Creek?

tothesea · 09/09/2009 23:03

His speech seemed a bit out of synch to me but I may be over thinking it! - roll on Friday cos just can't see how he did this

kinderfool · 09/09/2009 23:08

I wonder if, if he had an incredibly good editing/producing crew, it would have been possible to film the bit where he turns the numbers round a few times, with the 40/50 most likely combinations (as he only said he was going for 5 out of 6) and while he wrote the real numbers down they could cue up the right one or nearest one and switch it seamlessly when he gets to the stand. Very hard I imagine but surely not impossible having had months of planning/practice?

Tiasmummy · 09/09/2009 23:19

Did anybody else's tv flicker at the exact moment when he turned the balls around? We watched back the recording of it and there is 100% most definitely a jump as though it was coming back into synch. Anybody who has recorded it please look back and let me know!
It is either a very weird conincidence or not all of it was as "live" as we thought!

Meglet · 09/09/2009 23:25

I've just set the hard drive to record it on 4+1 so I'll look in the morning.

It just occurred (sp?) to me that did he actually show us the winning numbers. Were the numbers he wrote down from the bbc feed the ones the announcer actually read out? ....off to check the actual results now.....

kinderfool · 09/09/2009 23:27

On the Events site someone's suggested the balls could be photoelectric and wirelessly/through bluetooth the numbers were put on after they'd been drawn - will be disappointed if that's all it was!

Meglet · 09/09/2009 23:35

Can't find the official results on line yet, pah!

BrokkenHarted · 10/09/2009 00:04

I knew it!!! i thought i saw it in the middle. Looks like a flash of lights but pausing and rewinding near the start (watchiing again on C4 +1) it happened and i saw the word 'forget' it happens a few times i think. Watch out for it!!!!!!!

BrokkenHarted · 10/09/2009 00:06

And no i am not mad. It was VERY clear. In block capitals!!! I started watching and then summit happened so i left the telly but while glancing at the telly i thought i saw summit like it happen but didnt see the word so when i watch C4 +1 and see it near start i rewind and there it is!!! FORGET!!!

persephonesnape · 10/09/2009 09:21

Broken harted - from the gathering? thats a repeat - the 'forget' is about the content of the gathering, rather than the lottery prediction - think it only really worked on memebrs actuallyin the theatre audience as well (love that taxi driver thing at the end though.) he did a similar thing with a trailer he made which was shown before oceans 11 (or 12 - I 'forget' which) and some of the cinema audience couldn'trememberthe film at all.

such a clever man!

oh and i won a tenner! i never play the lottery - i think it's daft as I don't believe in luck etc and tehodds are rubbish. going to keep it and see if I can get it signed at some point.

I wished he's shown us his numbers before the lottery results that would have been far more impressive.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 10/09/2009 12:16

Yes LMB - Otherwise it's the same trick as the sealed envelope IMO

no. refuse to believe any camera trickery. not his style.

Nancy66 · 10/09/2009 14:10

Why isn't it his style?

There was no great mystery to the Russian Roulette trick - he just lied about there being a live bullet.

noddyholder · 10/09/2009 14:14

How can it be about camera trickery if he has said we can all do it at home?

persephonesnape · 10/09/2009 14:27

a dummy bullet would still make a pretty nasty mess of your head if fired at point blank range...

OP posts:
TheFoosa · 10/09/2009 14:38

I love him and I don't think he is ay, it's just mind trickery to ward off crazy fans

TheFoosa · 10/09/2009 14:38

ay, he isn't gay
