What did you move onto once you had finished it?

We are loving it but are now on series 7 and wondering what will fill the void when we reach the end of this series?

OP posts:

Not at all, Mrs S - sorry, 'Ma'am'. I shall never, ever abandon this thread.

Do you think your dislike of Mandy and Amy has anything to do with both of them being totally unsuitable for Josh, perchance? Do you perhaps think you might have been a more appropriate choice, if he'd only met you?

Actually I'm in the minority as I quite like Amy - loved that moment when she put Josh's phone in the stew, and she gave as good as she got. And she was key in one of my favourite ever scenes, when all the women get pissed with the First Lady ...

Enough now, I need some sleep!!

Oooh - I like being called Ma'am (unlike Helen S).

I liked the idea of Josh having a girlfriend who was not submissive to him but fought her corner but Amy did weird things with her mouth while she was speaking and tended not to give direct eye contact which made her seem arch. That's why it was so great that he and Donna ended up together. She grew so much that she really became the stronger of the two. She was very much her own person by series 6.

Mandy began every single sentence/speech with "C J!" I did love the getting pissed with FLOTUS/Abbie (sp?) scene. This is a part of the FLOTUS role I feel I would be well-suited too!

Must go and do some paid work!!

santapaws · 30/04/2009 10:08

Mmmm Matt Santos is very dreamy!

We need to make sure that this doesnt become a "list your favoutie episodes" thing, because Josh wouldnt like that (as he told the star trek lady)!

PolkSaladLucie · 30/04/2009 12:04

"What do POTUS and FLOTUS mean?" was a question on Have I Got News For You the other night - hubby and I were so happy we got it right - all thanks to TWW!

West wing favorite episode the primaries when the president walks into a room and tells the journalist sitting down and the rest of the room is standing that she should be on her feet at his appearance in the room( love his use of words!!)

favorite characters have to be
Sam loved his untidy look at the end of a busy session josh comes in next

TheOldestCat · 30/04/2009 12:32

Agree, mumbee - his use of the biblical quotes is devastating. Love it.

I also disliked Mandy and Amy (unsettling lack of eye contact) - and this thread has made me realise that it's because of Josh. Not for my purposes, you understand, but because Donna is so obviously the one for him.

systemsaddict · 30/04/2009 12:39

In answer to OP: The Wire is clearly the only possible replacement. Slow burner but once you get into it it has you completely addicted. But WW does repay repeat viewing (many times ) CJCregg I have realised thanks to you why our relationship is having so many problems, it's been a while since we've cracked open the WW box set .....

Favourite couple has to be Josh and Donna, though potus and flotus run a v. close second for me.

Favourite characters: Sam - couldn't believe it when he went off to do other things!! then Toby, but absolute favourite minor character

Mrs Laningham - I cried when she was killed off.

Ainsley runs her a v. close second though, she was fab.

The2ndMrsSantosneeGissabreak · 30/04/2009 15:29

I thought the scene in the cathedral after Mrs Landingham's funeral was absolutely stunning. I also loved the close of whatever episode it was when she and Toby attended the funeral of a Korean War Vet who had died destitute. It was juxtaposed with what would have otherwise been a too sacharine Christmas gathering round the tree for carols at the White House with Little Drummer Boy for a soundtrack - outstanding.

Mrs L was a star old bird (though Lily Tomlin was fantastic too)

PolkSaladLucie · 30/04/2009 17:27

mumbee - I love NCIS - so happy that the team is back together in the new series!!!!

2ndMS - They're both such good episodes - I love the latin speach POTUS does in the cathederal. I also love the first episode when he comes in at the end "I am the Lord thy God..." Talk about an entrance!!!

The2ndMrsSantosneeGissabreak · 30/04/2009 18:30

oh yes he chucks the right-wing evangelicals out with "get your ?? asses out of my White House". They broke the mould with Jed didn't they?
