Neighbours

QuantitativeMeasure · 08/04/2009 08:47

Neighbours? are you serious?

Another vote for Blackadder here. My fave Blackadder series was Blackadder goes forth.

candyfluff · 08/04/2009 08:56

lost
hands down

wilkos · 08/04/2009 08:58

Magnum PI

Tom Selleck [swoon]

KayHarker · 08/04/2009 09:24

Can't pick just one easily. But if it has to be, I think I'd go for Life on Mars.

Oh, don't be like that Doctor...

Come back, come back, I didn't mean it! The Five Doctors is still great! It's right up there, honest...

BurningBright · 08/04/2009 09:29

Buffy

Doctor Who, Blackadder and Bagpuss are runners up.

chocolepew · 08/04/2009 16:00

Blimey, there's loads of Buffy fans around .

Well,if you'd said favourite programme I'd have said Buffy too.

Or Doctor Who.

Or Buffy.

Or Doctor Who....

Anyway, you said 'best', which is why I said Porridge, because it's the only series I've watched that hasn't had a single duff episode, and much as I like Buffy and the Doctor, sadly I can't say the same for them.

EasterEggsintheSky · 08/04/2009 16:41

Fave prog of all time is one that you lot have probably never heard of (are any of you over 25? ) called Shine on Harvey Moon

Fave comedy programme is Blackadder...or Fawlty Towers.

chocolepew · 08/04/2009 16:43

Oh I loved Shine On Harvey Moon, Maggie Steed (?) was wonderful in it.

I remember Shine on Harvey Moon - I'm sure it had Pauline Quirke in it, and Kenneth Cranham of course. Brilliant show - why is it never repeated?!

fruitshootsnweaveseasterbasket · 08/04/2009 16:44

The Fingerbobs

chocolepew · 08/04/2009 16:46

That's right! Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson were both in it, PQ wore an eye patch I think

Choco I'll let you off, you've got Blondie t shirts so I know you've got decent taste!

tonybleh · 08/04/2009 16:55

Seinfeld.

More the later serieses . The earlier ones are very cringey at times.

2nd place: Arrested Development, Mighty Boosh, 30 Rock, West Wing, Gilmore Girls My friend got me hooked on it, and I talked like them for a MONTH

yes, Rusty, that's it - if it was favourite, then obviously it's going to be Doctor Who.

But Life On Mars was just perfectly made, script, acting, direction, the lot. I can't fault it. So, it's that for me.

(In case anyone is worried, I've soothed the poor Doctor now, bless him)

Cailleachna · 08/04/2009 17:26

The Office: An American Workplace. VERY closely followed by The West Wing. And Firefly.

procrastinatingparent · 08/04/2009 18:04

Best drama: West Wing. Or maybe Mad Men
Best sitcom: Seinfeld
Best preposterous action series: 24
Best whimsical comedy (Australia): Sea Change

See, I can be decisive and choose just one.

saadia · 08/04/2009 18:06

thirtysomething - been watching on YouTube and it is still so relevant.

chickatee · 09/04/2009 12:26

The Wire, The Wire, The Wire, The Wire... nothing compares. It does, however, ruin all future television viewing for you. Once you've seen it everything else just looks so...amateur.
