Currently Battlestar Galactica - the new series' rock!!!!!! we are half way through series 2 after watching series one back to back over last couple weeks...i usually dislike sci-fi, but i am really into it. And i never get into tv shows like this. Ever. Don't think i have ever watched a full series of anything apart from Charlie and Lola

ilikeyoursleeves · 06/04/2009 21:57

He's here! He's queer! I'm buy-ing him a beer!

Send the DVD's here!!!!!!!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 06/04/2009 22:04

Queer as folk was brilliant. The soundtrack is still my favourite cd for long car journeys

FlorenceDaphne · 06/04/2009 22:22

Fartmeister ooh, we could collaborate on a thesis!

allthetwinklystars · 06/04/2009 22:32

The Wire. You find all other tv lacks something after watching it.

EdwardCullensWife · 06/04/2009 23:32

I couldn't get into The Wire. I tried and tried but it just didn't happen.

TheOldestCat · 06/04/2009 23:34

The West Wing (glad to see another few fans here!). Six Feet Under - which I devoured while on maternity leave before DD was born (probably an odd choice looking back on it....).

oopsagain · 06/04/2009 23:52

nope,
some of you are close- I have jsut started with the wire and it seems good..
and queer as folk was fab too.

But the Best series ever has to be

Homicide, Life on the Street.
was truly fab and pre dated the wire..
pure TV heaven.

InSearchOfLostKeys · 07/04/2009 00:02

The Wire, The Wire and finally The Wire..

although I did love Six Feet Under!

Molesworth · 07/04/2009 00:06

Another vote for The Wire here.

Or Peep Show

CJCregg · 07/04/2009 00:07

The West Wing. (Haven't seen The Wire yet)

oopsagain · 07/04/2009 00:12

homicide was inspired by a book written by david simon who wrote the wire.
and he produced some of it.

If you like the wire then i def advise you watch homicide- i'm sure you'll like that too...
set in baltimore- bunch of funny smart and rubbish detectives....

haven't seen enough of the wire to know if it is better- but will get back to you

jellybeans · 07/04/2009 00:13

Lost

NormaJeanBaker · 07/04/2009 00:16

DH would say Dad's Army.

I don't care.

ScottishMummy · 07/04/2009 00:18

er
frasier
friends
this life

NormaJeanBaker · 07/04/2009 00:23

Um...how do you all have time to 'get into' any series at all?

suwoo · 07/04/2009 08:16

Norma- Sky +

MrsBartlet · 07/04/2009 08:21

The West Wing, without a doubt! Just started watching The Wire and it looks good so far.

yama · 07/04/2009 08:21

Can't decide between The West Wing and The Wire.

Oopsagain - we've been switering over whether or not to start Homicide Life ... Is it worth buying the box sets?

LtEveDallas · 07/04/2009 08:25

Buffy (again) without a doubt. Never before has a TV show managed to make me cry so long and loud as it did when Buffy died

I think the way the characters grew, from gawky schoolkids to 'responsible' adults was totally and utterly believeable and for a show to be willing to kill off major characters (Tara, Anya), because the script calls for it (rather than people miraculously surviving because they are the stars) is very brave.

(god I am such a geek)

yama · 07/04/2009 08:26

Buffy dies !

fishie · 07/04/2009 08:27

buffy

i should think the internet is drowning in buffy theses

fishie · 07/04/2009 08:32

ltevedallas dh said that buffy died as a joke just before that episode started.

i truly thought my sister was going to kill him and she has never forgiven him for it.

for me the buffy / spike storyline was just so well done, oh weep. and looking back on the first few series, they were so light-hearted in comparison. the swim team!

notyummy · 07/04/2009 08:48

Another vote for Battlestar Galatica (the new version...not the old).....absolutely awesome and gripping. My parents are now watching our boxed sets and are also hooked!

Otherwise:

West Wing
Frasier

pavlovthepregnantcat · 07/04/2009 08:57

notyummy - agree the new one not the old one. I heart Odama the wrinkly old prune!
