I just couldn't do this. If I was Amanda I would hate to hand baby Edward over to olga and cold fish man. I know they've picked pretty extreme cases for tv but as I'm 36 wks preg this is hard to watch. Max respect to those who can help childless couples this way tho.

COTS is childlessness oversome through surrogacy.
Intended parents join and are matched with surrogates. As I say the surro choses.
I joined them for the legal support and for contact really with other people in my boat.

I do feel a bit defensive though, like when someone commented about not letting it go. when someone offers you, of their own free will your lifes dream, it cannot and should not be snatched back. I want to hug AManda, but she chose to do it.
Its amazing what she has done.

gosh, kind of regret putting that on. poor dh is all emotional and we're both very with the russian and how cold she is. we both decided we really like amanda though. she's definitely channeling alanis morissette.

My sister is having real problems TTC atm. She has (jokingly I think/hope) asked if I'd be a surrogate Mum for her. Blimey - what a question to be asked. I'm just hoping beyond hope that she manages to conceive.

Amanda came over so well, like you say QOD - she has given them their lifes dream -and what a lovely baby.

I know what you mean expat, I coudnt do it, my mum & sister couldnt do it for me and yet a friend could and did.
People have their own reasons, I am sure that some do it for the money, some for the glory and some for pure friendship.

amanda's baby was biologically olga and fishman's. Don't feel it's a question of right and wrong, more whether you have the personality to cope with it.

I actually found Amanda very rude and quite hostile towards Olga. I wasn't overly keen on Olga either but I think during the day out she was trying to be nice even if it didn't come across the right way.

I definatly couldn't be a surrogate and think anyone who can is amazing really.
