Have been a fan since I was a student. Am I the only one on MN?

I thought the way they handled Harold being told about his illness (apart from the fact that it was in the coffee shop) and how he didn't take in what Karl was saying was very well done and really moving.

Harold Bishop - he's so lovely. And yes, I agree that Neighbours seem to have handled it all really well. One of the reasons I'm still a fan after 20 years

2shoes · 27/02/2009 11:01

the pretend libby is weird, reminds me of when Hayley change in H&A

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 27/02/2009 11:07

pretend libby is weird but possibly, not quite as annoying as the real libby!

Longtalljosie · 27/02/2009 11:14

My DH thinks I'm the saddest person ever and accuses me of corrupting the cat if he walks in and the cat's on my lap when I'm watching it.

Dan is gorgeous, but would argue Oliver was hotter.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 27/02/2009 13:34

I loved the fact that Libby had come back at first - an intelligent, feisty character. I thought the whole Darren affair and echoes of her dad's affair were handled really well. She has become quite annoying lately though so agree that Libby mark II not as irritating. However, it's still too much to toy with the loyalties of Neighbours fans to foist a new woman on us. They should have sent her away - they could even have given her a collapsed lung as well and visited her in hospital.

Agree Dan is gorgeous - despite the real life affair with Janae - but apart from him there's a bit of a dearth of male talent. I guess Andrew's totally unrealistic arrival has changed that - will be interesting to see how the thing between him and Rebecca develops.

Another fan here. Can't believe they have brought that poisoned dwarf Sam back into it to wreck Libby/Dan marriage.

Am glad to hear the Parkers are leaving - I also find Bridget really annoying and have never understood why she gets so much male interest. When she first joined the cast I thought she was going to be Ramsey Streets first lesbian! Does the Parker cull include Mickey? I do hope so.

2shoes · 02/03/2009 22:39

oh I liked Ollie

toddlerama · 03/03/2009 12:32

I also love neighbours and h&a. I record them so I can watch in peace with no interruptions and skip the stupid weightwatchers adverts. Except my husband was off a couple of weeks ago and heard Toddler singing along with the theme tune...bit embarrassing...especially as I had been going on about not getting enough credit for how much I do at home....

minko · 03/03/2009 18:30

I reckon poison dwarf has just reappeared to delay the wedding - until the real Libby can come back...

EustaciaVye · 03/03/2009 18:36

Bet the real Libby would be gutted if she missed her own wedding

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2009 18:36

wtf I miss a couple of episodes and Dans wife is back and pg, Is she saying its Dans?

PlumBumMum · 03/03/2009 18:38

Yeap I agree minko and Eustacia don't want to see fake Libby get the wedding day

Its like when they swapped Flynn in Home and away only real Flyn never came back

chocolatedot · 04/03/2009 12:40

Does anyone know why Libby can't have children?

minko · 04/03/2009 13:02

Didn't know she couldn't. She's got one already??

chocolatedot · 04/03/2009 13:13

Well I didn't either but the last couple of days she's been going on about how she can't give Dan a baby. Ben is why I am puzzled!

redclover79 · 04/03/2009 13:16

Didn't Libby have some sort of motorbike accident with Steph and Ben was a miracle baby? So many dire accidents in Neighbours though, I may be confused!

Seeline · 04/03/2009 13:17

Yep - you're right redclover. It was years ago - I think before she was with Drew?

YesSirICanBoogie · 04/03/2009 20:20

I also can't stand the Parkers. So glad they're leaving! Also I find Elle really annoying. Why does Paul never mention his child called Andrew he had with one of those identical twins? I always think Rebecca looks too young to be a Mum to Oliver and going by their actual ages, she was 9 when she gave birth to him! So glad I read this thread - now I'm praying Dee comes back from the dead even though she was so out of Toadie's league with odd looking breast implants!

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 04/03/2009 22:22

Totally agree YesSir about Rebecca - it's irritating how TV always make women play older than themselves and thereby never give work to older women. I think I read somewhere that Sean Connery's mother in North by North West was a couple of years younger than him. No doubt his co-star was young enough to be his daughter. I wonder if they'll make an issue of Andrew being maybe 2 or 3 years younger than Rebecca?

chocolatedot · 05/03/2009 09:54

You mean Cary Grant om NbyNW and yes he was 10 months older than her. In the Graduate, Anne Bancroft (Mrs Robinson) was only 6 years older than Dustin Hoffman and 9 years older thanher screen daughter.

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 05/03/2009 12:55

Thanks chocolatedot - it was Cary Grant. I was picturing him but wrote Sean Connery. On the same theme, that awful comedy programme where Nicholas Lindsay is playing opposite his mother in law Celia Imrie - she is 9 years older than him. Clint Eastwood and Sean Connery are usually paired with women young enough to be their granddaughters. The only case I can think of where it's reversed is where Kathleen Turner is paired with Nicholas Cage in Peggy Sue Got Married.

Libby cancelled her wedding with Drew because the accident meant she couldn't have children. Then the wedding was back on and ta-da, baby on the way, that was why Ben came early while Libby was in a barn(!) IIRC Carl was unhappy because the pregnancy was a big risk for Libby.

Ahem.

coppertop · 05/03/2009 14:09

I think today's Christmas episode must be one of the cheesiest ever. And why do Ty and/or Rachel have to sing in every other episode? Please tell me they don't have a recording contract IRL????

Lucycat · 05/03/2009 14:14

So had Harold left then?
