Anyone else excited about this starting up soon?

I'm guessing that The Oceanic 6 are going to go back to the island.

isn't it kind of acknowledged that they get placed according to what dharma want, not what they can do? so several people are doing the 'wrong' thing. e.g. no-one was surprised that kate knew nothing about cars.

also, in flashbacks, miles went to see his mum dying. think he was meant to be a teenager, but he hadn't seen her for a long time (poss) years, from what he said to her, so who would 'recognise' their child in the future, if they were just someone in the background of a big group? they seem to be kept fairly isolated by different into diff groups.

i can't believe i'm justifying Lost now!

PlumBumMum · 23/04/2009 11:44

Merrylegs your not reading the right books

Kickassangel I was going to go with that explaination too only when I tried to type it sounded wrong
(btw that was my university msn nickname, quite sad I forgot that until I saw you on a thread last week)

kickassangel · 23/04/2009 18:25

what i don't get is how they claimed that aaron was kate's when they left the island? the police were tracking her quite closely, so how could she claim to be pregnant before getting on the plane? i mean, she was handcuffed & escorted, they'd have noticed if she was up the duff.

also, how come claire was on a long haul flight more than 6 months pregnant? no travel co i know would allow that.

and how did jin & sun get from korea to australia, in just a few days after he didn't kill her lover? then get on a flight to the US? she wasn't sure if the baby was her lover's or jin, so must have happened petty quickly. how did the visas appear, and her dad let them go?

and how did kate get to australia? for such a wanted criminal, it isn't easy to travel?w, i haven't watched all of series 2 or any of series 4, but can warn you that there's a crap 'special' about to happen that just recaps everything using vo. fell asleep watching it last night, so don't know if ther's any kind of twist at the tend, will tease you mercilessly if there are.

plumbum - you will NEVER Kick Ass again

kickassangel · 23/04/2009 18:40

and HOW did kate get off from the murder charges?

PlumBumMum · 23/04/2009 19:27

Kickass, Kate was in Austrailia long before the bounty hunters came after her! And they said the baby came early so thats why she didn't look pg before hand

There was an episode over weither she should still be charged can't remember what happened in it as so much has gone on since

And I have decided that from now on the answers to the questions are

JUST BECAUSE THE ISLAND IS MAGIC

It works for Santa, the toothfairy, the island...

Jin and Sun were on a connecting flight
Anymore quetions before I kick your ass

PlumBumMum · 23/04/2009 19:27

questions

kickassangel · 23/04/2009 21:37

ok, so the crappy 'special' said that kate faced trial, but 'jack was there for her' (barf) and he said in court that he didn't love her, therefore his evidence (which they didn't show) was accepted & she got off? i'm assuming he said she was forced to kill her step dad due to psychological pressure?

then he met her in the car park after & said that really he did love her.

seriously, what court would accpet that.

and if the plane touched down & took on passengers, it would no longer be flight whatever, but change its flight number, unless sun & jin hopped on without it slowing down

really, it doesn't do to analyse it too much, does it? just sit back & enjoy josh holloway & his fringe looking mean & moody. have you seen interviews with hi? he's really smiley.

THEREALJACK · 02/05/2009 21:24

Just getting this back up there for us after our week off, can't wait until tomorrow night

PlumBumMum · 02/05/2009 21:26

Sorry was on the 24 thread a minute ago

((Plum dusts herself down better to be back in her plumbum))

Whimsy · 03/05/2009 20:30

I'm looking forward to hearing what Daniel knows about the Island. I really need to get out more

littlelamb · 03/05/2009 21:54

I knew it. I knew Daniel would turn out to be Elouise and Widmores's

littlelamb · 03/05/2009 21:55

Double

littlelamb · 03/05/2009 21:56

Fecking hell someone pour me a brandy. That was unbelievable

Merrylegs · 03/05/2009 22:09

Well.

I direct you to my post of - oh weeks ago - when I said
I said! Widmore is Daniel's father.

Season finale in 2 weeks time! OMG! They better way tie everything up.

And OK, Daniel went a bit do-lally at Oxford, which I guess explains his rather, er 'distracted' style of acting, but I do wish his annunciation had been clearer tonight.

"I need to find my mother and dizaizhizzzzabmbbb'

And Jack and Kate are like "Ah, yes, I see."

and I'm like WHAT???

And then I realise he said 'detonate the hydrogen bomb.'

Love how Sawyer grabbed that chair and sat astride it at the meeting. Like he meant business. Fnrr fnrr.

littlelamb · 03/05/2009 23:06

Ah yes, Sawyer on his chair. Manly. Mmmmmmm
ahem
Soooo, what's going to happen next. I didn't see that coming at all. Do we assume that what Daniel said was right? Is that going to be the 'incident'? What will happen to Sawyer and Juliet? Do we assume that Elouise is Penny's mum too? So many quesions. How long a break is there going ot be between the end of season 5 and the beginning of season 6? I may well just wet myself with anticipation

PlumBumMum · 04/05/2009 08:37

NOt looking at thread was decorating last night so I'm watching tonight after 24!

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 04/05/2009 21:42

I don't think they'll tie much up by the end of the season, more liely to have a big cliffhanger/loads more unansered questions.

When Daniel said to Jack that any of them could die on the island in the 70s and they shouldn't be complacent, well it makes my head hurt trying to figure it out. If Jack dies i nteh 1970s, then he won't be on the plane, he won't crash on the island, therefore he won't be there in the 1970s to get killed..... I just can't figure it out.

Plus, when did Desmond not press the button causing the plane to crash? I thought when they found him in the hatch he was still pressing the button and was convinced if he missed one the world would end?

OP posts:
StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 04/05/2009 21:50

And also doesn't that mean that they're not going to be able to explode the H bomb in order to stop the energy buiding up and causing the plane to crash?

Cos if they managed to explode the bomb and the plane doesn't crash then they'd never be on the island after the plane crash to explode the bomb.

Some sort of crazy paradox.

OP posts:
Merrylegs · 04/05/2009 23:13

Yeah. I didn't buy the stuff about them being the 'variables' and actually they could die and - oh look, it seems Daniel did.

We need a good dose of Hurley to come and deconstruct all this pseudo-science babble - coz the mutterings of Daniel combined with his notebook of random scribbled equations does not a plausible theory make.

Do they think we is stoopid or something?

PlumBumMum · 04/05/2009 23:22

Desmond followed the other man (remember the american army guy that taught Sayid how to torture) out of the hatch and thats when he missed pressing the button and the plane crashed, he then went back to the hatch and reset systenm and started pressing the button again!

I don't think Penny is Elouises, is that not why Charles was sent off Island because he was seeing someone else and had a daughter with them?

And thats why Miles and his mum got sent away from the daddy? Dr Chan must send everyone away

Must go to bed before we all get a nose bleed

SweetEm · 07/05/2009 11:49

StripyKnickersSpotty... The reason they can die in 1977 is because they are also existing as children somewhere else at that time (Miles is on the island as both his adult and baby self remember). So if, for example, Miles as an adult was killed, on the island in 1977, that does NOT mean the Miles-baby would die also. Therefore, the baby could grow up and come back to the island on the freighter in 2005.

PlumBumMum · 07/05/2009 12:13

Ohh do you think it will end at the beginning again, no matter what they do it will just be a vicioux cycle of ending back on the island, (groundhog day)

PlumBumMum · 07/05/2009 12:13

vicious

braveandcrazy · 07/05/2009 17:07

SweetEm love that theory, hadn't thought of that at all. I was wondering if Daniel had to die to stop him changing the future by messing up the 'incident' that sets of the number pushing, plane crash etc. I'm also thinking about whether Jack, Kate etc will still try to stop it happening or will let it happen now after seeing what happened to Daniel.

Also, has Daniel said something different to little girl Charlotte this time round?

littlelamb · 07/05/2009 18:57

No, I think he said the same thing. I think they want you to think that nothing can be changed But with only one season left they have to wrap it up somehow. I think they will end it so that they are all getting off the plane, none the wiser. Noone knows each other, and they all go back into their messy lives. Whatever happens, it will have to be pretty damn special I think. If you think of how this programme has changed over the seasons (from, oops we're stuck on an island, to OMG there are Others here, to what the hell is the hatch all about, to the Dharma people, to the freighter, to the time traveling) it is a very different show than any of us were expecting, so it had better deliver
