Anyone else excited about this starting up soon?

I'm guessing that The Oceanic 6 are going to go back to the island.

Littlelamb so you think that the last episode will be them getting back on Oceanic 815 (is that the no?) but the plane doesn't crash and they carry on where they would have left off? But what about Ben and Desmond and Penny and Charles and Aaron (not born yet)and Miles and many other questions come into my head. It's a good theory but it wouldn't answer enough questions for me. I'm impressed you are thinking about how it will all end though I have enough trouble keeping up week after week

littlelamb · 08/05/2009 20:26

Gosh, I don't know. There's so many loose ends to tie up. Remember the psychic that Claire saw? What was that all about? Of all the people in Lost, I want Des and Penny to end up happy. The rest can fall off a cliff for all I care

Ceebee74 · 08/05/2009 20:33

Littlelamb - I like your theory about how it will all end but to me that would be like the ole Bobby Ewing in the shower thing (i.e. desperate and unsatisfying) and would definitely be a huge anti-climax. Having said that, I can't imagine how they will end it that will be satisfying tbh.

I would quite like Juliet and Sawyer to be happy - I think they make quite a cute couple and Kate is just too complicated for Sawyer!

littlelamb · 08/05/2009 20:40

Did you see the look on Juliet's face last week when Sawyer called Kate freckles?? If looks could kill

BettyTurnip · 09/05/2009 14:05

Joining this late but been reading (and watching Lost) avidly.

How many of you will be also be buying the full box set when the final series is finished and having a Lost-fest?

DH and I have already vowed to lockthedcinacupboard farm the dc out and devote however long it takes to make sense of it all.

PlumBumMum · 09/05/2009 19:34

I'll have tisssues ready for all the nosebleeds you might get Betty

AnathemaDevice · 09/05/2009 19:51

Betty- I've downloaded all the previous series, so when this one finishes I'm going to watch them all before the final series starts, to make sure I'm up to speed with everything. It'll be interesting to see how much I missed/didin't think was important first time round.
Is everyone else getting very confused now, or is it just me and my baby brain?

wheresclaire · 09/05/2009 22:07

How we long for the days of hunting for wild boars and fresh water! Anyway, just incase the name doesnt give it away... Does anyone care where Claire has gone? Surely she is time jumping with the rest of them?

MintChocAddict · 09/05/2009 23:18

Clare was with Christian when Locke (I think???) spoke to him the first time, was she not? Not sure if she's dead or alive.

I'm now extremely confused - all the can you die in the 50's, 70's etc and still be around now stuff? My tiny brain just can't work it all out. Will still be watching tomorrow night though, as I thrive on my weekly nosebleed session.

And of course my weekly dose of the lovely Sawyer/Lafleur

wheresclaire · 09/05/2009 23:22

Sawyer? Yes. Lafleur? No thanks. Really dont like the 70's look! Its Desmond for me brother!

MintChocAddict · 09/05/2009 23:41

Sawyer/Lafleur - I'll take either. I'm not fussy
And to think I fancied Jack in series 1
I can't get away from Desmond's very odd Scottish accent. Haven't heard one quite like it and I live there! - Scotland that is, and not Hawaii (sadly)

BettyTurnip · 09/05/2009 23:42

Good idea, Anathema. Will probably have to take out a small bank loan to buy the full box set, will be £££s I expect!

Will have a bumper pack of tissues ready for nose bleeds and paracetamol for the headaches caused by trying to fathom it all out

I just don't believe that all the connections can be explained and the loose ends tied up. For example, remember Anna Lucia popping up in Australia as Christian's driver, and Libby being a patient in Hurley's mental institution? And what about that young couple who had one episode devoted to their back story and were then buried alive?

Mumsnet will probably have a virtual nosebleed when the final episode airs - imagine the postmortem that'll take place on the Lost thread!

Ceebee74 · 10/05/2009 17:33

Mint I so agree with you. I would take Sawyer in any form and can't believe that I actually fancied Jack initially - I mean he is good-looking but just not got the 'phwoar' factor does he??

That couple that got buried alive - was that not just a story in itself with no loose ends to tie up? Iirc, it was just about a spider that paralysed you so you appeared dead hence the being buried alive.

I can only think they will tie all the other coincidences/links as it just being the island doing all these things to get everyone where it needed them iyswim - i.e. fate/destiny (or whatever you want to call it)

BettyTurnip · 10/05/2009 21:02

I can't remember any details about the buried alive couple - that's the infuriating thing about the progranmme, it's so long and twisty-turny you just can't possibly remember everything.

Oh God yes, Sawyer is absolutely delectable. Once had a very enjoyable dream about him! Jack is handsome (though rather dull), but when he's in scenes where he's clean shaven I can't help noticing what a huge Jimmy Hill chin he's got.

Ceebee74 · 10/05/2009 21:07

Betty I have had several enjoyable dreams about Sawyer - actors don't usually feature in my dreams so I don't know why he creeps in there - always makes me wake up with a smile on my face though

BettyTurnip · 10/05/2009 21:13

I bet it does!
Ah well, off to enjoy him, so to speak.

Merrylegs · 10/05/2009 22:16

Well.

First of all, have to say - poor Juliet. Talk about catbumface when Kate turned up on the sub. Ouch!

Obviously the sub won't get to its destination - will it?

Am liking how Locke seems to be in charge now and is surprising even Ben, but a bit that for a guy who has apparantly been around thousands (?) of years and hasn't aged at all, Richard seems pretty clueless about what is all going on.

Still - good stuff, good stuff and a double bill next week.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 10/05/2009 22:30

Yes, Juliet did CatBumFace very well.

I wonder if when Locke and the others find Jacob if Clare will be with him?

OP posts:
littlelamb · 11/05/2009 01:15

Ah, just watched tonights episode I sky+ed. Was in a hungover state before Does anyone else think John is actually Jacob? Interesting turnaround that he is now the one directing Richard. And my theory about them all just getting off the plane at the end has now been debunked because Jack reeled it off almost word for word, so they can't let it be that obvious

BettyTurnip · 11/05/2009 10:23

The young Charles Widmore looks like he's wandered in from a Madchester era rave - all the lads in my hometown had that curly bob hairstyle in the late 80s/early 90s!

PlumBumMum · 11/05/2009 11:33

I still think its going to end how it started with the plane crashing again

Why was locke telling Richard to tell him to get everyone back, again thats the self fulfilling prophecy(sp)

I forgot about that couple they were paralysed and hurley and charlie thought they were dead

AnathemaDevice · 11/05/2009 17:16

I want to know, will we find out more about the 'shadow of the statue' group in the season finale, or will we have to wait until next series?

braveandcrazy · 11/05/2009 17:33

I have been wondering all week whether they would choose to try to do what Daniel wanted or ignore his idea and it's great that we've had both sides with Kate heading off and Jack wanting to do it.

Littlelamb I thought the same about Jack stating they will end up back on the plane after your theory - there has to be more to the end that that I hope. I also agree with you about Desmond and Penny it's been a fab love story throughout I really hope they end up happy. I'm also hoping (maybe against hope) that Ben turns out to be acting for the greater good, Locke is starting to get on my tits a bit.

Ceebee74 · 12/05/2009 13:14

Have eventually got round to watching this week's episode.

Betty you are so right about charles Widmore's hairstyle - tis pretty hideous and very Madchester!!

Am still as confused as hell - have no idea what is going on - am trying to work out how Sawyer/Juliet/Kate can live in the 'real world' in 1977 and also live in the present day - and I assume the sub must get off the island as Miles/his mum/Charlotte are all on it and we know they get off.

And if Richard is some kind of 'special' being, why the hell does he not know what is going on???

Also, just worked out who the actress is who plays Eloise - been bugging me. She is married to that Welsh actor in the Fantastic Four (can't think what his name is).

hifi · 12/05/2009 13:44
