Anyone else excited about this starting up soon?

I'm guessing that The Oceanic 6 are going to go back to the island.

Ah no, but surely the finding of Jack and the gang is a big secret between Jin and Sawyer. Jin would not tell anyone else before Sawyer knew.

I have come to the conclusion that I like this series much better when they are all on the Island. It was losing me a bit when they were back in the States. I really liked last week's when Sawyer et al were back in the Dharma camp. It reminded me of how it was at the beginning. Let's hope they rein it in a bit now and stop all this time travel and bring it back to the island.

Aslo, the polar bears were explained last week finally as they guards made a joke about them escaping from their cages - which suggests that there will be some kind of major electrical failure and the cages will be opened and the bears will escape.

giantkatestacks · 10/03/2009 12:40

Sorry if this has been covered but why isnt Richard getting any older? Does anyone have any ideas - apart from him being dead already I mean?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 10/03/2009 12:50

Well where Sawyer is now he's been in the Dharma iniative for 3 years and seems to sort of be their boss. So maybe he's not as bothered about keeping Jack et al a secret?

I have an awful feelig that I will still be as confused as ever at the end of the last ever episode.

I think that Richard can time travel independently, he can certainly leave the island seemingly at will. It was him who "tested" Locke as a small boy wasn't it? And he recruited Juliet. It was Richard who told Locke he had to bring the Oceanic Six back, that suggests he has some knowledge of what will work which he could have got from time travelling.

OP posts:
PlumBumMum · 10/03/2009 12:59

I think Richard is THE BOSS and just lets everyone else think theyre in charge

giantkatestacks · 10/03/2009 13:03

but if he can time travel at will then there would be lots of him on the island at once and how would he know where to be - he was surprised by Locke the first time wasnt he?

PlumBumMum · 10/03/2009 13:35

Yeap he was surprised by Locke, I don't think he can timetravel hes just a mystery on the island, and thats why he went to test Locke, when Locke was young, because Locke told him his date of birth so he went to check out his story, he was in the corridor when Locke was born

MitchyInge · 10/03/2009 13:55

man I'm confused

Ceebee74 · 11/03/2009 13:09

Have eventually got round to watching Sunday's episode - I thought it was one of the better ones tbh.

I definitely think Sawyer should stick with Juliet - although obviously he won't as Kate is clearly the love of his life (although maybe he won't be impressed that she has been having her wicked way with Jack )

Not keen on the 'clean' Sawyer - definitely prefer the rough and dirty one!!

Still no idea what the hell is going on though - but who cares?? Am still loving it!

Also, where was Daniel in 1977? Wonder where he had got to.

Ceebee74 · 11/03/2009 13:28

2 questions that I have just thought of:

  1. Why did no-one question Juliet's ability to perform a c-section?? Presuming they have been incognito for the last 3 years and she has been pretending to be a mechanic, then surely it would have raised serious questions??

  2. Has richard met Sawyer on the island before (or in the future iyswim)? I can't remember - but if he has, then Richard must have recognised Saywer from 1977 no?

PlumBumMum · 11/03/2009 13:31

No he hadn't met Sawyer thats why Sawyer reminded him about Locke

giantkatestacks · 11/03/2009 13:37

Oh btw I thought if something last night - I dont think its true that people cant exist on the island twice - ie at the same time because presumably in the timeframe that Sawyer was watching Kate help Claire give birth he was knocking around somewhere on the beach...

Merrylegs · 11/03/2009 13:47

Am just not convinced by Richard (although do think he is a likable character what with his black eyeliner an' all).

If he's this dead/time-travelling/ageless/key to island character he is built up to be, why is he always so surprised when people say things to him like "I know who you are" or "I'm going to tell you something and you won't understand but later you will realise why its significant" or "You're going to meet me again one day and then I will tell you this" (egs of various conversations he has had with Sawyer/Locke).

Richard always looks at them like, WTF?

I mean, surely he of all people should know not to be surprised by random people turning up who seem to know more about him than they should?

And if he is 'WTF', then what hope do us mere viewers have for understanding any of this?

PlumBumMum · 11/03/2009 13:53

Merry your getting too merry again

Ceebee74 · 11/03/2009 13:53

Plumbum - but surely Richard and Sawyer must have met each other in the future as Sawyer recognised him straight away when him and Juliet were looking out of the window? So, when this meeting did happen in the future, why did Richard not recognise Sawyer as the bloke he met in 1974?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 11/03/2009 13:55

I have a question and I'm not sure if it's part of the story/time travel stuff that I don't understand, or simply a mistake in the show but here goes:

In 1977, Sawyer, Juliet, et al had been on the island for 3 years since the last flash.

When the Oceanic 6 return to the island, it has been 3 years for them also.

HOWEVER. When John Locke leaves the island and goes to the Oceanic 6, it is 3 years on for them at that point. So he has gone from current time with the Losties to 3 years ahead, and then they all come together at the same point.

Now I know that time moves differently on the island to the "real world" but it doesn't add up!

Merrylegs · 11/03/2009 13:56

Yes yes! Good point! Sawyer said 'Hello Richard.'

PlumBumMum · 11/03/2009 13:59

Sawyer seen Richard the day Locke went to talk to him didn't actually meet him, remember when we seen young charles on the island

PlumBumMum · 11/03/2009 14:01

Juliet told sawyer it was Richard, and said he's alweays been here

bradsmissus · 13/03/2009 15:50

Does anyone know what has happened to Lost? Sky listings show a film at the usual Lost time this Sunday on Sky one - why do they keep missing weeks????!!! I need a fix!

PuppyMonkey · 13/03/2009 16:09

Just wanted to add my two penorth to the very important debate going on in this thread:

Definitely prefer Dirty Sawyer.

But perhaps not quite as dirty as he has been lately. Just with a bit less stubble.

And I like the glasses too.

Thank you.

Merrylegs · 13/03/2009 16:55

No no. Clean Sawyer for me. Dontcha think his hair just looks like it must smell so-o- good...

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 13/03/2009 17:05

Not sure why they're having a break but its back on Mothers Day.

OP posts:
giantkatestacks · 14/03/2009 10:53

its to keep us on the same schedule as the US isnt it...they must be having a gap there for something [guesses wildly]

EightiesChick · 14/03/2009 18:48

I must have missed this in the last episode shown... how do we know that the ones left behind (Sawyer, Juliet etc) are in 1977?
