Tonight !!!!! am so joyful

I was getting really annoyed at yesterday's bloke playing the Moist Eyes card at every opportunity. For that reason alone I didn't wnat him to win. Was (also) annoyed Mad Hatter went out as wanted to see what she did. Belinda's pink sauce thing looked horrible.

MaryAnnSingleton · 23/01/2009 18:51

It looked like poster paint ! Sobbing Dad looks as though he will be blubbing a lot if he stays in

Right, just caught up on sky plus ;

I was also annoyed mad hatter went out but then I thought she wouldn't get through the "passion" test as she didn't seem like a gusher.

Belinda's dress sense was a bit distracting alright but I could definitely have eaten her breakfast. I thought she was through as they were wowing her food so much, in fact going by their comments they should have put her through. Pink sauce made me want to hurl.

Also, in the food identification test they said that Anna did well but from what we saw she only got one right.

Would be much fairer to have the suggested scoring system imo.

On a final note, in reply to a few other postings in other threads this week, JOHN AND GREGG ARE IN NO WAY FANCIABLE!!!!

Salleroo · 23/01/2009 21:31

Just caught up with it.

If Belinda got through I was giving up. After her winning on Wed against some of the worst cooks ever, (the other girl should have got through) and J&G gushing about how technically brilliant she was. Then her turning up with her tits out or her hotpants on and her big gobby smile about how she loved the competition - there was obv a wager on between all the bankers to see how far she would go, 'cos cooking isn't it.

Anyway, she didnt and my blood pressure is dropping and I can watch the semis now.

Tinker · 24/01/2009 13:30

Oh no, I do quite fancy JT

AttilaTheMeerkat · 24/01/2009 18:56

Belinda's pink sauce should have come with a warning on screen - do not adjust your set. Looked full of e numbers.

Glad to see that Matt got through.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/01/2009 21:52

no, I've taken against Julian

editing builds the suspense on the programme and so who you think will win is often not the winner, they always seem to big someone up in the prokitchen, but they hardly ever win the heat.

MyEye · 29/01/2009 20:49

Julian IS Owen Wilson isn't he?

OllieWollieWoo · 29/01/2009 20:53

He reminded me of James May - but maybe thats just his dodgey flowery shirts!

bagsforlife · 29/01/2009 21:01

Oh yes ver James Mayish.

carrotsandpeasifyouplease · 29/01/2009 21:41

very James May
I was disapointed that he didn't do very well but it does beg the question; Is Masterchef for people who can cook all the technical stuff or someone who comes up with a "mad" twist that happens to work. Angela's salmon was so boring and the carpaccio (sp?) so easy. Trouble is you could imagine her being on tele with her own program she is very pretty.

A very boring semi-final imo, I seriously think I could do better than a lot of them.

Molesworth · 29/01/2009 22:50

I like Angela, although I agree that her salmon dish looked incredibly dull (but she seemed to have improved on the presentation front). Miso potatoes? Ugh.

I'm surprised that tall no-lips wine man didn't go through to the quarter final instead of the scouser after making that scallops/bacon/maple syrup thing that J and G raved about.

foxinsocks · 29/01/2009 22:51

oh I wanted Julian to go through for pure entertainment value

threetypesofpea · 30/01/2009 08:27

In the professional kitchen you do not get any training - the morning is spent prepping and then you get talked through how to plate up and then off you go into service

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/01/2009 09:38

yes, I'd've enjoyed seeing Julian going on about his French wife

Oooh, John and Gregg are a little bit fanciable

MissGreatBritain · 01/02/2009 21:30

DP and I think that John and Greg are trying to put in as many rude comments as they can get away with. "can't wait to get into her ginger pudding" "can he pull it off" etc. When you start looking out for them there are loads. Enough to make a 40-something couple snigger like school children anyway

fishie · 02/02/2009 20:54

wow hugh is delicious. verity's love nest is embarrassing.

bigTillyMint · 03/02/2009 07:16

I agree Fishie (we have a RL friend with that name!) Huw didn't win - would have been worth watching just to see him again

DaDaDa · 03/02/2009 14:55

Was really pleased big Geordie bloke got through. Can't wait to see his stottie cake dish in the quarter final.

Habbibu · 03/02/2009 20:57

"That pear's not cooked. You can't eat it". Someone should 'ave a word with John and Gregg to tell them raw pears aren't poison.

oxocube · 03/02/2009 21:08

loved the look of the pineapple starter and green curry dish though. Am glad he won - I would love to have eaten his food

Habbibu · 03/02/2009 21:12

Oh, yes - he's my first candidate for actually winning.

oxocube · 03/02/2009 21:13

ds (7) informed me tonight that when he grows up he wants to be a 'food cricket' (ie critic) but only for chocolate
