interesting second half though - felt a bit sorry for Christopher with his rush job second batch of pasta. Chris's fish looked lush... and that lamb loin, mm mm. Although pea puree does nothing for me

Tinker · 18/02/2009 23:24

I really can't understand why portion size wouldn't have been discussed and agreed way before time to cook it.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/02/2009 07:12

surely with 4 courses 1 ravioli, which looked big enough, would have been fine ? think tetchy head chef was just asserting his authoritaaay there... Think Christopher will be going home and I do think Cyprus Chris might win this now

We thought the same - surely portion size would have been discussed at the beginning on their day in the kitchen. Just another example of contrived 'drama' for tv IMO.

Go Cyprus Chris

Had to watch last night's on iplayer this morning. I really want to eat that fish course! Dessert looked interesting, but not the kind of thing that I'd actually want to eat.

Not sure who I want to win at the moment. I did want Andy, but he's let himself down a bit in the later rounds.

oxocube · 19/02/2009 12:14

Pudding looked beautiful but I wouldn't want soup for pud (call me old fashioned). Agree re the fish with lemongrass sauce which looked delish. Wonder if the recipes are online anywhere

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 17:09

Just checked BBC website - tonights is def the "harsh restaurants critics" one - how many withering looks will miss trout face pull??? Can't wait!

thumbwitch · 19/02/2009 17:51

you'd be better off asking how many times she smiles - a much smaller number!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 20:23

Is no-one watching?!

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:26

Ooo I am!

duckyfuzz · 19/02/2009 20:27

me too!

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:28

Pleased for Chris. Bring on the Spicer woman - wearing what looked like a v dodgey hairband!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 20:31

Ooh - critics next I guess.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 20:31

Anyone like to predict at this point who will go out?

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:32

Do you think they get fed up with the cameras stuck in their faces everytime they walk along outside??

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 20:32

Aaarrggghh - sounds from ds. Don't want him to wake during Masterchef!

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:35

Johns jacket is just wrong (god I'm spikey tonight - where is my chocolate fix???)

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:36

Bring ds down to watch CSWS - its never too young to learn how to cook! Think of these guys as potential role models??

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:38

"Right up my strada"- top quote from Greg!

Habbibu · 19/02/2009 20:39

Gah. You beat me to it, Ollie!

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:43

Think Chris will be going home - tho really don't want him too.

(Spicer woman looks shocking - last narky comment of the evening I promise!!!)

Habbibu · 19/02/2009 20:44

Yes - Chris is a worrier, which is a real shame. They have a lot of food to eat, don't they?

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/02/2009 20:45

Back now. Missed Chris unfortunately, but hear that it was a disaster.

OllieWollieWoo · 19/02/2009 20:48

I can barely watch the tart extraction!

annh · 19/02/2009 20:49

The Spicer woman really is a misery, isn't she?!
