DaDaDa · 09/02/2009 20:56

Tonights classic:

"..then in comes banana"

cremolafoam · 09/02/2009 21:04

cinnamon Snog anyone

it will be an absolute delight!

cremolafoam · 09/02/2009 21:06

ROFL in this house

i will never eat pea purre ever ever ever
[vom]

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 09/02/2009 21:08

Suspicious lack of scallops tonight.

ThumbLoveWitch · 09/02/2009 23:52

pea puree [vom] - absolutely!

Tell me, am I the only one who thinks these bloody smears of vegetable foam/puree are the last word in food wankiness? If I order a meal, I expect it to come with REAL veg, not a smear of pulp.

There was also a suspicious lack of rhubarb, my other "oh fgs, show some originality!"

Molesworth · 10/02/2009 00:11

Agree thumbers, what is this vogue for skidmarks on the plate?

MaryAnnSweetheart · 10/02/2009 18:10

it's sheer wankiness those skids of coulis or whatever and that foam always looks like spit

charitygirl · 10/02/2009 18:13

no scallops or rhubarb, but there was raspberry coulis with chocolate - boak.

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 10/02/2009 20:33

Every single time Greg says "Cooking DOESN'T get TOUGHER than THIS!" I laugh out loud in a kind of snurky way It just gets funnier and funnier.

ThumbLoveWitch · 10/02/2009 22:31

I know what you mean, Cyteen, it cracks us up too!

I like raspberries and chocolate - one of my favourite combinations in a pud!

I thought all 3 of tonight's lot were pretty damn good - could have been a final!

cremolafoam · 11/02/2009 17:44

all v good last night.
liked the look of that starter with red mulet and aubergine.wowtastic

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 18:17

definitely - although I thought the girl's one (which I can't spell) looked fab too - absolutely beautfiul "plaofoo"

Katisha · 11/02/2009 18:20

It's "cooking doesn't get TAFFER than this"...

beansprout · 11/02/2009 18:20

New one this series: "fusion cook" = making it up as they go along.

beansprout · 11/02/2009 18:21

Also loved John's, "loime, loime, loime" the other night.

Katisha · 11/02/2009 18:22

Have we done the depressing voice-over woman?
Lord I wish they'd find someone who sounded a bit more interested in it all...

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 19:38

oh she's almost as bad as the first "this is not just food... this is M&S food" woman - I had to hit the mute button every time that ad came on in its first incarnation!

She is bad. I prefer Jenny thingy (name has just left my brain) who did the Great British Menu show.

cremolafoam · 11/02/2009 21:30

Bond - Jennie Bond

Tinker · 11/02/2009 21:32

Am getting very sick of seeing Eggs Benedict at the beginning of every episode now. And yesterday, the winner only had to poach ten eggs. That's all he had to do.

foxinsocks · 11/02/2009 21:34

lol

I mean if you can't poach a bloody egg, what are you doing on there

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 22:11

very good cremola - as in 007? (or perhaps 0070!!)

I see the scallops were back tonight...

Molesworth · 12/02/2009 00:36

That scallop dish sounded gross (sweetcorn purée + walnut and black pudding dust + chicken skin)

ugh

I hoped Fatima would win

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 12/02/2009 08:49

One for voiceover bingo: "the orders are flooding in".

Last night's winner sounded exactly like a friend of ours, it was most disconcerting

ClaraDeLaNoche · 12/02/2009 08:52

Yes I was rooting for Fatima too. Am starting to worry about a lack of women in the semi final. Do you remember the lovely young girl last year who made John cry.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 12/02/2009 08:58

I had to do 8 poached eggs at the weekend and all mine were perfect [smug emotion]
