It suddenly occurred to me this evening that by having only a two couple final, the judges' scores are pointless - is not that right? Because if the public agrees with the judges on the best couple obviously they will win, and if they don't then the public vote is the casting one - I think that makes rather a farce of it - or do they score it differently in the final?

I did think Austin was the right one to go this time. Felt sorry for Erin tonight though. Amazingly even I have warmed slightly to Tom (I always thought he was a good dancer but I can't get past his drippiness - however I am coming to the conclusion he just tries too hard.) Still I would like Rachel to win, failing that, Lisa.

I've also warmed to Tom and gone off Austin - although his final thank you speech to his wife was lovely. Taking off the shirt was cringeworthy. I think he's a cert to win it now and whereas a couple of weeks ago I would have loathed the idea of him winning I now think it would be quite sweet.

And is it a ploy by Bruce to employ someone - Tess - who makes him sound more alive and with it? I usually fastforward through her inane efforts at chats with the celebs but had to sit through them today. She cannot ask interesting questions nor have a flowing conversation - really embarrassing.

chocolate, I too can not bear to actually watch strictly. Prasie god for sky+, so that I can zoom through all the brucie and tess bits.

I didn't even KNOW there were strictly boards. But of COURSE there would be. stupid me. Must venture onto them at least once, to post the fact that I think Brian is fab dance. ARe they really that dangerous ?

I was sorry to see Austin go. I quite liked him. Much better and more likeable than Tom IMO. I actually like Erin too. Were those her extensions on the floor then ?! I wondered what those funny clumps of fluff were!

I can't believe people on here are saying Tess looked pg or fat . I'm not her biggest fan but I think she looked rather gorgeous on Sat and Sun. I was thinking what a lovely slim but curvy figure she has...I know DP agrees! Is everyone on MN a size zero with a washboard stomach? Surely most women (especially mums) have got a bit of a rounded belly?

I don't think anyone 'deserved' to go last night; but someone had to.
Despite really liking Austin - and not believing that he is a nasty piece of work - I think that it was right for him to go.
The other 3 seem to have improved throughout the serise; he is still very good, but he always was.

I don't really care which sleb wins it now.
I guess it's Camilla's 'turn' to win, considering she's done all the serise and has yet to reach a final (I think...) but I'm not particularly bothered about any of the Profs either.
I'll now be watching purely for the spectacle.

Oh - and the shirt thing at the end was nowhere near as bad a Mark Foster. At least Austin put his back on before the actual dance - and he got the OK from his wife before doing it.

I found Tess' continual references to his physique odd, slightly pathetic and quite unprofessional ... but that just about sums up my general opinion of Tess

Did anyone notice that Lisa had to go and pick the hair up off the floor at the beginning of her dance, then Brendan took them off stage?!

And that cock up with the scoring! Maybe Bruno pressed 10 but then held 9 up?

I agree with Tigerschick, I liked Austin but it was right for him to go last night and he went with grace.

We also found out what they are dancing next week - will be good to have them all doing the same dances.
The Hustle looks good - I wonder if they'll be allowed to do lifts ...

BTW, wasn't the pro's Argentine Tango beautiful? It's a shame Flavia and Vincent split up...they dance so brilliantly together.

They split up as a couple last year after she went off with her celeb - that Matt boy from Eastenders. But there's so much chemistry still between them.

I don't know how you didn't see the clumps of hair, Oblomov. It was like a couple of guinea pigs on the floor! Really hope Claudia asks her about it tonight.

I thought Erin was desperate to get through she looked as if she was doing about six times as much dancing as Austin. She looked as if she was dancing AT him, in a rather frightening way, and it made him look wimpy and cowed in contrast.
