such a good show. How vile are those people though?

AS just wants working class made good types ie clones of him.

Miriam should go just because her sentences rise up at the end??

Bearess · 30/03/2005 23:52

This thread is making me PMSL - especially the link to the scary pole dancer & the capitalised Saira speak, lol. Who was cringing through the meeting with Ian Wright? Also can't believe none of that James's team had heard of Diarmuid Gavin!

tiddlypom · 31/03/2005 01:03

Didn't Diarmuid come across well though? I'd love to have him in my garden (so to speak).

Bearess · 31/03/2005 01:05

awwww, he did, didn't he. What a nice bloke. I just want his pink fridge actually!

LIZS · 31/03/2005 08:18

With Ian Wright surely they should have just walked otu of the room and started again - it went so badly and they all came across as complete amateurs in negotiation, similarly with Eammon Holmes.

Part of the problem was that they had no clear sense of the likely profile of bidders at the auction and what would appeal so just took as offered. After all they could well have afforded a night at Mel Smith's play if they so desired, many would have been to GMTV already (as guests !) whereas a corporate outing to Chicago was more worthwhile and individual. Presumably the celebs were primed and had already formed an opinion as to what to donate, it was just a case of the teams hitting the right buttons.

Thought James was a pathetic, if affable, leader. I want Saira to go - her gob gets on my nerves and she screwed up the Paul McKenna offer by being greedy but failed to take responsibility for it. It WAS NOT and NEVER WILL BE her fault.

Enid · 31/03/2005 08:23

Raj though...that was desperate, was watching from behind fingers

katierocket · 31/03/2005 09:01

wasn't eamon holmes an idiot though?
luurrve Diarmuid - what a top bloke!

Siara was awful as usual. It's been an ABSOLUTE pleasure. Horrible the way she was pestering hypnotism man for extra stuff. Ben came into his own didn't he.
agree that next weeks looks really good.

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 31/03/2005 10:32

only watched this the last 2 weeks and I'm hooked.

Not really keen on Siara(?) and I'm sure what to make of Paul - whats the tall girl called - she seems to perform well.

LIZS · 31/03/2005 10:34

btw there is a catch-up programme on Saturday night for those , like me, who came to it a bit later on.

beansprout · 31/03/2005 10:51

Of course Sir Sugar was going to get rid of Sebastian. NO WAY is he going to employ a toff who has learnt what he knows about business out of books. Raj is just a useless blob, I have no idea what his skills are supposed to be.

If next week's is based on profit, Saira will be ok, as it will be like the flowers so she will run around pushing jam and chutney into the hands of unsuspecting country folk.

Bearess · 31/03/2005 12:05

Thought the writing was on the wall for old Sebastian last night ever since he fluffed the call he made and couldn't remember he was calling on behalf of the Hackney Empire!

gscrym · 31/03/2005 12:25

My money's on Tim to win. How happy was the shiney Paul after him and Saira got split up.

James is a bit posh to win but I think he might get close.

tiddlypom · 31/03/2005 12:43

I think that if the teams stay the same, James is on a loser. I agree re Tim - not too posh after all, is he??? Could still be seen as ordinary boy made good? Tho not in the same league on that front as Saira and Paul. Both of them should do well as market traders next week.

Bearess · 31/03/2005 12:57

Ben to win I reckon.

WideWebWitch · 31/03/2005 12:58

I loved that bit at the end of Saira trying to sell chutney to the guy who was running! Hilarious! I reckon James or Saira will win. I bet AS like Paul though, maybe he's in with a chance. Saira was an absolute snake though wasn't she, refusing to take responsibility for the dvds etc? Ooh, she's such a liar!

posyhairdresser · 31/03/2005 12:58

What a boring episode - I hope it picks up again next week!
Sir A was extraordinarily nice to Sebastian when he sacked him "with regret"

Bearess · 31/03/2005 12:59

Saira's a horror - and I know it's unreasonable but the next time I see her push her Chanel glasses back up her nose I will scream!

JoolsToo · 31/03/2005 13:01

boring!? - I must be easily pleased then - I thought it was great!

LIZS · 31/03/2005 13:07

As an aside, did anyone else think the Ian Wright lot was an interesting omission from the coverage of the auction, especially since he was reluctant to offer anything personal in case it went for an embarrassingly low price.

What were all the lots, did we ever find out ?

Gwenick · 31/03/2005 13:22

not really Lizz - they only showed half of the lots which were auctioned.

crunchie · 31/03/2005 13:24

I thought it was great - as always. Raj and Sebastion were just cringy. James is a nice guy, could do well. But Paul once again was the one I want to slap. I am remebering 2 weeks ago when we first lost a task - what did he do, attack Rachel and Saira as the first time he was in a team led by a woman - They loat. The following week, he led the team and lost, and went mental, blaming Saira and being awful. This week he won and instead of being magnanimous in that, he was overjoyed and smug

TBH I find him an odious twit and much prefer Saira, in all her PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY

Raj has got to go next, then there will be 6, I quite like Miriam, at least she got passionate about the charity, where everyone else was being sycophanitic and embarassing (Raj) No-one else seemed to care very much - Tim even said they were doing it for the competition. Ben is still very unknown as is James, I think Saira and Paul may trip themselves up once too often and we would have Ben, Tim, James and Miriam at the end.

Anyway compelling to watch and hideous at the same time (Mel Smith tickets!)

Bearess · 31/03/2005 13:25

I thought that was odd - had a look here and it doesn't mention IW but we didn't see Anthony Worrall-Thompson either did we?

WideWebWitch · 31/03/2005 13:28

And didn't Mel Smith look awful?

tiddlypom · 31/03/2005 13:35

The thing about Paul is, you can feel some sympathy with him (maybe) in his current state, desperate to win against the posh, well educated guys, wanting to make something of himself - but imagine if he did win, and got to be a multimillionaire, he might buy the Daily Mail (or start up his own dreadful mysogynist rag)and wield horrible power...

JoolsToo · 31/03/2005 13:37

Ian Wright's was his England golf clubs.

Yes Mel Smith looked dreadful

Oh no! not another punch at the DM (yawn!)
