Posters keep complaining that the tasks are boring and silly - they are there for a number of reasons. One is to add jeopardy to the 'prize pot' - otherwise it would just be an amount sitting waiting for the winner(s), one is to give the faithful and triators something they need to work together on, which might raise suspicions for the RT, and yet another is to keep them busy so they don't have too much time to think about traitor-hunting - this is possibly why they've all forgotten who was in the library with Rosskemp, they are kept busy in a pressure environment.

Some of the tasks are brilliant, too!

I see where you are coming from and you might well be right. Also the edit has a lot to do with it. For all we know it might have been discussed but just not shown.

I do find it frustrating when they show you everybody homing in on somebody at the round table only for them to vote for somebody else.

I agree, I think it's all in the edit. They must spend loads of time discussing people yet we see a one hour summary where theories appear to come out of nowhere. That's why I try not to form opinions on whether or not Michael is sexist or Joanne is aggressive, we are seeing a tiny snapshot of life in the castle.

I feel sorry for Sharon, people seem to be suspicious of her because of the scarecrow task but I'd say her support of Romesh after the crypt task would at least show Romesh that she was a faithful and no-one appears to suspect him. I hope Joanne goes, she just seems to cause chaos.

Stowickthevast · Yesterday 11:19

Romesh did say that he didn't think either of them were traitors. I think he's the best hope for the Faithful if he doesn't get murdered.

@DHWasNearArdrossWhenCelebrityTraitorsWasFilmed I didn’t think they did fly home, they just stayed in the hotel until filming had finished otherwise the daily mail would have had pictures of them flying home or is that just for the civilian one?

That makes complete sense. It would mean there was no point in REG being banished from the programme early so that he could be near his daughter in the later stages of her pregnancy.

I suppose it would give the celebrity time to prepare for whatever else they had coming up, though, eg learn lines for a forthcoming play. It would be another reason why sportspeople wouldn’t take part, as they couldn’t stop a training routine and get no proper exercise for a fortnight.

Hoping that Romesh has it sussed and is keeping cards close to his chest.
Question is whether anyone will listen to him since louder (and wrong) voices - looking at you Blunt 🙄 - seem to carry more sway.

DHWasNearArdrossWhenCelebrityTraitorsWasFilmed · Yesterday 11:41

Perhaps Blunt is playing a very clever game. If he appears to be completely on the wrong track he’s no threat to the Traitors so they won’t murder him.

He contributes well to the Tasks, which might mean he won’t be banished, either, although do the Celebrities really care about how much is added to the prize fun?

Although I don’t think he actually has one, I suppose that would be a good strategy - be loudly wrong, rely on other people to get rid of the traitors, fly under the radar and get to the final.

Could backfire though as the faithfuls may start to think his often loud and wrong looks suspish.

While not the same someone I know was on I’m a Celebrity. They were voted out fairly early on and then had to stay in a nearby hotel until it all finished. They feel they got the much better end of the deal!

So they stayed in Australia all that time? That is a good deal!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · Yesterday 12:49

I think most of the contestants on I'm a celeb are there when the winner is crowned at the end. It's only on for a couple of weeks so no point in anyone flying home in-between. I'm guessing the ones not there flew home earlier.

I know! Sit around the pool with a drink all expenses paid, or sleep in the jungle and eat kangaroo arseholes? I know what I’d sooner do.

ZappyDays · Yesterday 13:50

All the women left in the game have suspicion on them and it seems unlikely any of them will make it to the end game in my opinion. Except Maya, who is a traitor! I think that’s interesting, any theories why? I can’t help think Joanne was onto it when she said Maya is still here because she’s good looking.

I'm not sure that's fair actually.

Maya has played a very low-key game and just takes no risks, and that creates no risks. She has really only made a couple of very small scale allegations and they were following suggestions already being discussed by others from memory. Nothing seismic. It has been Head Below Parapet all the way. Unlike poor Miranda with her incriminating - and actually very much on the money - BoUnCy floorboard revelations that got her murdered that very evening!

Maya has had the security to do that because, obviously, she knows more of the pieces on the board than most others do and knows there isn't going to be a knife at her back come the evening. I don't enjoy that style in terms of good television, and I don't think it is an iconic traitor play in the way someone like Alan played, but I think it has worked up to a point.

What I do wonder is how well equipped she is going to be to defray once the heat comes onto her - which it will, just by process of elimination.

I agree but sadly he has said he won’t do it.

Has he?? This really surprises me! He's obsessed with it and talks endlessly about what he'd do in there!

Namechangefordaughterevasion · Yesterday 14:25

It's not just middle aged men who underestimate women's intelligence. I was at a table quiz recently with me and 3 male friends all in our 50s and 60s. We won by a country mile ( we got every question right). At which point a table of all middle aged women across from us said 'it's because they have three men on their team!'

That couldn't have been further from the truth. Two of the men were only there for the beer and the craic and didn't answer a single question. One was pretty good, but I still came up with more answers than him. I think because I'm 'conventionally attractive' people assume I'm a dumb blonde.

I know, this season's edit in particular seems to miss out a lot.
We didn't see Miranda's amazing friendship with Joe, we just have her word to go on.
And they often say things like, 'You've been talking a bit about Michael/Jerry/whoever' but we haven't seen any of that. Even the thing about Michael 'leading' the RT I don't feel like we really see.

I agree with this. Me and DH were saying I think they could have three eps per week with a more vigorous edit. There have got to be loads of conversations and interactions we are missing. And those are the juicy bits.

I am enjoying this series, but agree it lacks some of the intensity and entertainment of the last celeb one. I think on the whole I enjoy the civilian one most though. It feels like higher stakes when its a life-changing pot of money. And they don't know each other, can keep secrets from each other, won't have to share green rooms with each other. It's more of a gloves off ride!

Mathair2 · Yesterday 14:39

I think only having 2 episodes per week is a disaster. I nearly forget what has happened by the time thursday comes around again and its not been intense enough this series to leave us on a juicy cliffhanger

Wonderknicks · Yesterday 14:48

I'd still like to know how they really get round the order of them coming into breakfast. Everyone says that they must film it multiple times but that would mean filming the whole thing over & over with them all sitting in different places.
Does anyone know how they really get round the fact that the two or three up for murder come in last, do can't be traitors?
Do Richard & Marina know?

Maggiethecat · Yesterday 15:12

Don’t understand why there’s more heat on Sharon than Joanne given that Miranda was murdered after floorboard gate??

Seriously, a change in behaviour? 🙄

I agree and it's even more nonsensical having them on two consecutive nights rather than spreading them out a bit. My OH only tolerates it and is pretty miserable at being expected to watch it two nights running.

NewspaperTaxis · Yesterday 18:52

Almost against myself, I think a lot about this series. It's odd because the better a faithful does in leading from the front and eliminating traitors, the more likely they are to be murdered. So there is not much point poking your head against the parapet, not least because if you push an argument or defend someone, either way if it goes against you and the accused is a faithful, the remaining faithful will think you're a traitor.

The 'evidence' they produce for getting rid of someone of course would not stand up on court for one minute, but a) They have to come up with something because they have to banish someone and b) It ties into the the Miss Marple deduction stuff which is what is expected. Ultimately, however, it becomes a butt-covering exercise or face saving thing, because when they declare themselves faithful as they are banished, they can say, well, we did have 'evidence'.

As the faithfuls are so rubbish now, it would be an idea for them to banish one of the most 'trusted' - who are all of course traitors - because they could hardly do any worse than when the banish someone with 'evidence'. If they are 'most trusted' then given the faithfuls' record, they should be banished!

Yes, it's a fundamental flaw of the game which has been increasingly discussed as the series go on. It's a shame - and I don't have the intellect or the imagination to think how the rules could be tweaked so that it doesn't happen.

Me too.
A Monday, Wednesday and Friday episode schedule would be much better, or even better every night for 10/14 days.

Timenowforanamechange · Today 08:32

They could have still done two nights a week if they had wanted say Monday & Wednesday or Monday & Thursday.
what is clear Thursday and Friday doesn’t work.

NewspaperTaxis · Today 08:38

It seems to be that they are banishing some people because they have a slightly detached loner quality - but if you are a Traitor you won't exude that vibe, because you're sort of king or queen of the castle.
