I enjoy this podcast almost as much as watching the show 😂

They have to get Richard Osman in the castle next series!!

I agree but sadly he has said he won’t do it.

I want to rewatch the last task I think. It really did seem to me at the time that the group were talking about who to give the power to, a few names went in and then Sharon immediately looked unhappy and from then on kept refusing to say why - it was really annoying. She hadn’t actually said anything to suggest a different name or say “not this person” but just made it very clear she felt she had been left out of the decision. They were still discussing it! She walked off and they asked her several times what she thought and she was all “no no you’ve all decided without me who cares what I think, we should go with the majority, I’m irrelevant” - it was v irritating. If she’d just said “actually James a said he didn’t want it” straight away it would likely have been a different conversation.

Yes, I thought she came across as a sulky cow. Maybe it was just the editing.

I also need to re-watch for similar reasons! I had thought that she had said or tried to say that James A had indicated that he didn’t want the special power, but they had ignored her. She then became stroppy and a bit sulky but (a) that could be all in the edit and (b) if not, maybe they did just disregard her comment in which case she was perhaps annoyed legitimately with them. However, Sharon had the air of someone who had given up and didn’t really want to be there by that stage.

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · 26/10/2026 22:41

Michael and James B are getting on my nerves. They're both used to taking charge and keep doing it, but they couldn't be more wrong! I wish they'd both take a step back and let someone else lead a task and a round table discussion.

Calliopespa · 26/10/2026 23:43

montysmaw · 26/10/2026 13:24

Bit ironic to slag off Michael for sexism and then judge Joanna to come out swinging to fight her corner.

Not really. There are ways and ways of doing things.

Calliopespa · 26/10/2026 23:49

LindorDoubleChoc · 26/10/2026 09:10

Hmm. I did go right off Michael Sheen when he got with his current partner. I even started a thread on here about it iirc at the time.

He and James Blunt were hateful to Sharon and completely unaware of what they were doing. Such gruesome male privilege. But I was slightly disappointed in her for not fighting a bit harder. She is 37 years old! I was amazed at that.

I'm not sad it's ending next week as I very much feel they are all running out of steam.

I don't want James A to be a winner in the end. I don't hate him or anything, and he does have some redeeming features as a traitor, but really his refusal to participate as a true traitor should means he is less deserving in my mind.

I just hope Kenny and Maya can hold on.

I'm not sad it's ending next week as I very much feel they are all running out of steam.

I feel a bit like that this time. I've kind of got bored of it before it's over. Just when it should be cranking right up ...

I think the fact the traitors have just sat quietly and gone under the radar has actually made it quite boring. It was much more fun when Richardy squared up to the cannon! And around the time Hannah went out was a bit more lively. But it is just petering out to an irritable sort of elimination process now. I miss Alan!

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · Yesterday 00:08

Yes, the producers scored an ace last year by booking Alan and making him a traitor. He could easily have been banished within two days, but he was brilliant!

This series is showing that unfortunately, that kind of TV gold isn't easy to replicate.

I found the same @Calliopespa, the bit afterwards when Miranda and Sharon were talking and Sharon came into the room felt very awkward too. I’m sure she is lovely and funny in real life.

Exactly this. It wasn’t even just the aggressive reaction to having the finger pointed at her. It was also afterwards when she came upon Miranda and Sharon alone. The interaction was awkward but her comment that Miranda would make a good politician was so bitchy.

I think maybe she is just feeling very pressured by it all. I don't know why it seems to have gone that way this time. Several of them seem to feel under pressure, as if they have forgotten it is just a game.

DHWasNearArdrossWhenCelebrityTraitorsWasFilmed · Yesterday 01:22

Apologies for the late reply, but DH was away in the first half of May and certainly back well before June, which would agree with @Cheshireflamingo's friend's observation about filming dates.

The locals DH was staying with confirmed that the Celebrity Traitors was being filmed while he was there. He's been staying in the same place for over 30 years so I don't think they were having him on.

If the celebrities fly home after they have been banished or murdered, why don't we get reports of people spotting them at the airport and elsewhere in the country while filming was still going on?
I remember the publicity photos which indicated the celebrities were arriving by showing people (assumed to be their drivers) at Inverness airport holding cards with their names on, so we knew who they were and when filming was happening.

CollaterlieSistersSister · Yesterday 03:27

It's been mentioned before, but Joe Marler's podcast (Joe Marler Will See You Now) is a great listen/watch. The episode with Celia Imrie is joyous.

But it does highlight how much is lacking this series, compared to last - amongst many things, the cheeky sparkle of someone like Celia. Richardy had the potential, but we all know what happened there.

I am trying to appreciate this series in its own right, but as the anticipation was based on how brilliantly engaging last series was, it's tricky.

I haven't even finished the last episode yet (but have read thread so know what happens). Would have been unheard of last time.

Timenowforanamechange · Yesterday 04:34

Is it the edit or is the best they have to work with?
Would Amol have made a better recruit than James A at the start?
REG blurting out that he was a traitor ruined the dynamics at the start. But then Joe asked him that. So who the hell knows, he’d have been asked at some point, so he may have spilled the beans anyhow.

JewelleryCat · Yesterday 07:42

@DHWasNearArdrossWhenCelebrityTraitorsWasFilmed I didn’t think they did fly home, they just stayed in the hotel until filming had finished otherwise the daily mail would have had pictures of them flying home or is that just for the civilian one?

I can’t see anything intimidating about her at all - she’s just Irish & loud & says what she thinks.

You're not being clear. 'other than' means you DO see intimidating things about her.
Do you mean 'I just can’t see how anyone would find Joanne intimidating, it's just her Irish ways.'?

AlwaysExtraHot · Yesterday 08:30

Calliopespa · 26/10/2026 20:15

No, she didn't point the finger at Maya, but I think the traitors were uncomfortable about her having felt the movement and that's why she was murdered.

I think we're slightly missing each other.
My only point was that Miranda had already forgotten there was someone on her other side, well before the RT; she mentioned at the end of the game having Joanne and Maya on each side of her, but then stopped talking about Maya altogether.

I am probably being too cynical but I do fear that a lot of this is manipulation by the production team. It beggars belief that somebody reasonably intelligent like Miranda would only focus on Joanne and not even consider Maya when thinking about the creaky floorboards.

I think everyone always feels pressured in the game (e.g. Alan's tears!), but the problem this year is that people either don't seem very emotionally resilient or they're just not engaging much. I miss the intelligent discussions at the Round Table from the last series.

I see what you mean, but I suspect the pressure in the castle is hard for us to really appreciate. It's so different from normal life. I think things like not knowing what time it is, being 'institutionalised' in the sense of getting fed meals someone else has chosen and being driven to and from the place on a schedule that's not yours, the looming threat of the RT, and of course trying to play the game/never knowing who you can actually trust and not, would play havoc with anyone's mind and emotions and cloud people's judgement and thinking.

The floorboard theory probably strengthened any suspicion Miranda had about Joanne to the detriment of not considering who was on her other side in the puzzle mission.
Rabbit holes are serious traps in the game!
After her exit we saw that Miranda didn’t even consider Maya as a traitor (can’t recall if she had her as a faithful).

While not the same someone I know was on I’m a Celebrity. They were voted out fairly early on and then had to stay in a nearby hotel until it all finished. They feel they got the much better end of the deal!

I see where you are coming from and you might well be right. Also the edit has a lot to do with it. For all we know it might have been discussed but just not shown.

I do find it frustrating when they show you everybody homing in on somebody at the round table only for them to vote for somebody else.

I know, this season's edit in particular seems to miss out a lot.
We didn't see Miranda's amazing friendship with Joe, we just have her word to go on.
And they often say things like, 'You've been talking a bit about Michael/Jerry/whoever' but we haven't seen any of that. Even the thing about Michael 'leading' the RT I don't feel like we really see.

I don’t think men value the opinions of women in their late 30s/40s who aren’t conventionally attractive to them - unless they are a matriarch mumsy /battle axe type character

Totally this!

My only point was that Miranda had already forgotten there was someone on her other side, well before the RT; she mentioned at the end of the game having Joanne and Maya on each side of her, but then stopped talking about Maya altogether.

I think it was when she first mentioned it to Joanne that Joanne got really angry. That was before the RT because remember Miranda opened the RT by stating she was debunking it. So I think she realised what heat it was generating and just backtracked the whole thing, without developing it or moving on to consider Maya on her other side.

Anyway, it is what it is now, but it was a shame to lose Miranda.
