Strictly 2026 : THE LAUNCH SHOW 19.25hrs How will our new presenters fare ? NO SPOILERS

[EineReiseDurchDieZeit]

A shiny new thread for a shiny new series. Please bring your dancing shoes over here.

Not sure whether I am doing weekly threads or not yet. Yet to decide, but I’m doing one for the first episode anyway.

The preshow chat thread has been quiet and I’m wondering if lots of people aren’t watching due to the departure of Tess and Claude. I have my reservations about the new presenting team but I’m willing to give them a chance.

KEEP DANCING 💃

“I’ll tell you for why” so Gavin and Stacey!

Yes you’re right sorry! I can picture her and I thought she was called Alex for some reason

Just flicked for a minute…Josh’s laugh took 20 seconds to become intolerable. Wonder if he is capable of toning it down…

I imagine he’ll be in the audience

Josh has a cackle laugh. I bet he tones it down by next week!

Bring back Karen Hauer! In any role.

Josh is acting like a kids presenter! ewww

Agreed to myself yes give it time but i don’t think their voices/gravitas are going to change, which is whats missing

These new dancers are zygotes!

Oh hello Mark

Mark is SEXY

call me cougar, that manly canadian voice grabbed my attention!

These newbie pros seem very young.

@mumofoneisonozempic Behave yoself! 😝

I know I’m going to sound like a Reform Candidate … but why are they not giving opportunities to British dancers ?

Mark reminds me of AJ Pritchard.

I’m surprised they managed to get Chris Appleton on strictly, he’s at the very top of his career, he must have been expensive.

Came to say this. Children

Thing is it doesmt usually annoy me because what he says is funny and correlates with length of laugh, not so here - not funny at all - imv his talent is being non scripted

Emma is a total pro as I knew she would be. Johannes seems warm and a natural. Josh is… well, he’s there.

Can we not with the whole ‘I can’t understand Johannes’ thing guys. Tune your ears in, whack the sound up if you need to. Guy can’t help where he was born.

I thought exactly the same!

There aren’t many of them at the right level in ballroom

The Ukraninian dancer is the new Nadia, clearly.

These new dancers seem a bit young to be experienced as teachers…but hopefully they actually prove me wrong.

No one deserves that comparison!

I for one am glad that there are new pros. We needed some new faces .
