I walked past her on a tube platform a while ago, but by the time I'd realised who it was she was gone. No chance for me to fangirl.

Many moons ago, i walked past Kristin Scott-Thomas in Villiers St. We made brief eye contact, and she gave me a wee half smile.

I’m too cool for school, and never gush over celebrities - in their vicinity.
Meanwhile, I’ll tell that story to anyone who’ll listen!

<<scream>>
I'd have died on the spot. Or walked into a wall/tripped over my own feet, or something equally dorky. I just know she's one of those women who would bring out my inner dweeb to the max.

the80sweregreat · 30/09/2026 19:17

KST is so beautiful isn’t she.
It was so funny when Jeremy Clarkson was all dressed up when she went on Top Gear to drive the car in a reasonably priced car! He is a big fan. She is so graceful and so beautifully dressed in slow horses.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 30/09/2026 19:37

Like i say - any excuse to tell that story!
She was beautiful.

the80sweregreat · 30/09/2026 19:40

She really is so lovely. Her hair from the back reminded me of Diana’s hair ( lady Di) ! It suits her

Badvocthebad · 30/09/2026 22:45

It's really veering from the books, but I'm enjoying it.
I'm not sure how they will get to the ending of the 2nd book 🤔
Not sure the books were explicit about why flyte left MI5.

Now wondering whether Sid is the dodgy one after all? And I see that Jackson Lamb has been to the school of taking the gentle approach with children!

stanleycups · 30/09/2026 23:07

Imho they overdid the humour in this one. I’m also a bit perplexed as to why River’s hair is so much darker than before.

the80sweregreat · 01/10/2026 06:35

Lenny rush was funny. You could see lamb trying not to smile too much in tbe arcade !

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2026 08:56

I am really enjoying the series.

the80sweregreat · 01/10/2026 09:07

I love all the seasons. Problem is , I’m watching this season with my dh and isn’t as into it as I am and doesn’t like how Lamb is with people. He also can’t see the humour. He could go and do something else , but instead he sits there just letting it flow over him without getting invested and never got past season 2 before now
Anyway, I am wondering if Sid is now a baddie and where do you find pay phones these days ? Not an easy task is it.

EasternStandard · 01/10/2026 09:07

Brilliant episode. I laughed in a few places with Lamb’s responses.

Trainstrike · 01/10/2026 09:54

I wondered if Sid was bad when the two assassins turned up at the house because they'd said River was their next target, so when she said they were after her I wondered whether that was true. Also not sure payphones exist anywhere..! It may be too obvious for Sid to be bad after that setup though.

TheSmellOfSea · 01/10/2026 11:09

Don't read my post if you haven't watched last night's episode.

But they (baddies) didn't know who Sid was?

Dh and I both love it. I'm glad it's weekly like pp said.

I think Coe is fab. Hopefully he's going to be ok?

I had a feeling about Moira. Glad she's ok. I pmsl when they were in the shop. She'd make a crap spy 🤣

the80sweregreat · 01/10/2026 11:22

Confused a bit , did they have to kill Annie the owner of the house ?
So funny when they went to collect Louise at work. How they all just carried on after wards

Giggorata · 01/10/2026 11:23

I like Coe, too.
I am enjoying Slow Horses so much and think it's one of the best things on TV, despite the book departures and other elements that I don't enjoy so much, like the France bit.
I hope that Lamb stays this side of self caricature.

the80sweregreat · 01/10/2026 11:25

Lamb bounces off well with Tavener. They are funny.

I didn't see her die? I don't want her dead she's canny.

They drove her car I think, the yellow one.

I'd like to see moreof Annie, she was great.

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2026 11:57

Are the Russians connected to River's dad, Harkness or are there 2 different plots?

TheSmellOfSea · 01/10/2026 11:58

They just stole it. She's alive 🙈

They are brilliant in scenes. The one outside her house. So sharp. Plus the one in the children’s care home with the receptionist. So funny, she was great too.

beguilingeyes · 01/10/2026 12:27

Coe is playing Mr Collins in the new Pride and Prejudice. Jack Lowden as Darcy. It's going to give the thing a whole new slant...

Wow that'll be interesting.

Recently dh and I started watching a film that had the Coe actor Tom Brooke in it. We turned it off as he was weird and nasty. Film was going to be grim.

TheSmellOfSea · 01/10/2026 13:13

@beguilingeyes Just seen that's on Netflix. I was thinking of cancelling I'll keep it for now.
