I am wondering how the assassins keep finding them all the time. Originally I thought maybe Sid had let them know by phoning them from the bowling place, when she said she couldn’t find a phone originally but then the female assassin did look like she was trying to kill her at the next place, so obviously not 🧐 I am confuddled (does not take much ☺️)

I was thinking that. It's like terminator!

DuncinToffee · 08/10/2026 12:20

River is still wearing the same clothes from his grandads funeral, tracker?

CafedelaButte · 08/10/2026 12:23

@DuncinToffee oooh yes, good thinking. His dad could have put it on him.

The tv man has Tavener where he wants her. I am surprised she wasn’t sent to Slough house for doing that interview! She may end up there one day.

This is a better storyline than the Russian terminators and hapless agents.

Plus I felt sorry for the guy at the gaming centre, he was great.

Coe is playing Mr Collins in the new Pride and Prejudice. Jack Lowden as Darcy. It's going to give the thing a whole new slant...

Is Mr Collins not being played by Jamie Demetriou? I remember seeing that ages ago and thinking he’d be brilliant as that character!

Yeah, I mixed up my Austen's
He's playing John Dashwood in S&S.

Giggorata · 08/10/2026 15:04

Yeah, I read that Coe died in one of the books, so I've been waiting for it.
i'd love it to depart from the books in this instance and resurrect him!

Of all the characters, River is the least interesting to me, but I suppose you have to have a normie against which to highlight all the other oddballs.

I hope Diana gets out of this hole, because she is the Ice Spy Queen over all, and she would be a great loss.

2026onwardsandup · 08/10/2026 16:25

Yes did think it might be the character that had been “resurrected “that had been sent to Kazan . But couldn’t remember her name - thanks those of you that had mentioned Sid .

Still a bit confused - River’s dad is linked / hired by the media mogul - who is linked to Russia . There are also the 2 Russian assassins , who are they getting their instructions from ? Is it the person who spoke to Diane on the phone and told her to get rid of the agent who killed their operative in Kazan ? What is the link between River’s dad and the 2 assassins other than links to Russia ?

2026onwardsandup · 08/10/2026 16:27

Wouldn’t it be great if Diana did get re- assigned to Slow House and Lamb became her boss ?

TheSmellOfSea · 08/10/2026 17:07

Dh said it'd be funny for lady Di to get sent to Slough House.

I’ve read the book(s) this season was based on, but it was only when we got to the service station that I realised why it all seemed so unfamiliar.

Which is a bit of a shame because the end of Coe had really stayed with me from the book. Kept wishing I could make it un-happen.

I spotted “Coe” in Sense & Sensibility (which I quite enjoyed, though it has had mixed reviews).

DH says the new writer is far less faithful to the books (I must get round to reading them as I’ve only read the Zoe B books and book 1).

PoliteRaven · 09/10/2026 10:11

Haven't read the review but I find this season as good as the others. I was wondering if Will Smith's departure might affect the show negatively- but it hasn't. I am still chuckling at Lamb calling Shirley 'Tiny Dander' from one of the first episodes.

Absolutely gutted at who was offed in this week's episode, one of my favourite characters, the longer it goes on the more you get used to the character being around.

To feed my fix in between episodes I've gone right back to season one and am re-watching them all. I just can't believe what an absolute piece of work Lady Di is.

MsAlignment · 09/10/2026 12:30

I liked him in Sense and Sensibility.

And I started reading the whole series after a cliffhanger in maybe S3. It was surprising how the adaptations verged from the novels. I don’t mind but it can be confusing when one recalls a particular scenario from one of the books and can’t fit it into what you’re seeing on screen.

All I will say re: DT is that I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of Lamb!

Badvocthebad · 09/10/2026 15:15

I've found this series confusing so far, but I think its because its based on 2 x of the SH books and they have changed a lot of the characters and their story arc.
E.g. Coe didn't die in that way, the child was Min Harpers (I won't say more as it would be very spoilery..)
I'm enjoying it, but as I said, having read the books, its confusing

Yes he's sharp and tough.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2026 15:42

Lamb isn’t one to cross is he.

Lady Di makes the same mistake a lot of very clever people make...she thinks everyone else is stupid/slower.
As an aside, I thought the casting of Claude Whelan absolutely perfect 👌

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2026 15:48

Whelan is another snake isn’t he :(

Chaostheory12 · 09/10/2026 15:50

I'm finding this series really tedious and I don't really care what happens anymore sadly.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2026 15:54

I love it, but some scenes do drag a bit sometimes.
Like the scene about the phone. maybe it’s the writing ?

CaveMum · 10/10/2026 15:21

Finally caught up on the latest episode. Poor Coe, I really liked him.

Yes I’m the same with Coe in the book. But at least someone appreciated his push knife.

I know it’s likely just a typo upthread but DT would have you put in Slough House for calling her Diane.
