They’ve been recycling the same ‘everyone has to come to terms with a young gay man coming out’ storyline since the 80s. Another hand wringing storyline seems a bit old school for 2026.

I thought the way they did it with Jazz Hands and Patrick was good…no big deal, love you whoever you fancy, sonny etc.

Oh God, Rose is so irritating and inauthentic.

Jodie is an atrocious actress.

The son is another jazz hands, and looks about 10 years older than the part he is playing.

Gemma - I just can’t buy into her at all. The fake cockney accent and annoying ditsy manner. Arghhh!

Ned isn’t the worst of the bunch, but he gives me the ick with his Simon Cowell trousers and smarmy way. Too much screen time for him.

Just such a cartoon bunch …and they are sullying Nicola with their foolishness (who I think is a good character and actress).

Can you tell they are winding me up? 🤣

I can’t bear it when they try to force-feed us with new characters (Nic’s terrible family), as if that will make us like them. Much better to let characters gradually settle in and integrate themselves with others in the square - although I’m not sure that would make a difference here, they’re so unlikeable.

I can see why Oscar might be leaving (if he is) - he’s a decent actor and may want to spread his wings doing other projects. I wouldn’t blame him. And I do like the character although he is a bit miscast age-wise - Oscar’s meant to be 18 but the actor is visibility older - so you forget that he’s just a boy really (yes technically adult, but very young), which does make a difference with some of his stories IMO.

If Ben comes back , maybe he’ll date Ryder and that will also make Kathy and Phil a bit more involved with the new family. Ben would do it to wind up Callum ! However , I’ve not read his returning after seeing him briefly a while back at a funeral.

Ben seems so much older than Ryder but it’s only 9 years. Phil will get the measure of Ned pretty soon but still hope Phil’s next storyline is talking Linda out of marrying Max

I’m still going with Ravi having a break down, Priya being missing feared dead. Police suspect max, she’s the one in his bed as he’s hiding her from Ravi, police find her, hence max being released, Ravi kidnaps Lauren and Oscar. It’s the only reasonably sensible storyline. Which means I’ll definitely be wrong.

I like the Priya slant there. Maybe that’s why the policewoman said ‘ we have a problem’ when they open the bathroom door. They thought she was dead . So Max gets off the charges.

It makes sense doesn’t it 80’s? So don’t think it’ll happen 😃

Also meant to ask, has anyone mentioned how much Ryder looks like Nicola? Only noticed last night on the bench. Especially the mouth area. Don’t think there’s anything to read into it mind

I can’t see a Nicola / Ryder resemblance myself really.
I agree he isn’t much like Gemma or his dad.
I was put off him by what he did at kims wedding and making the pastilles. Ria could have ate one , but luckily she didn’t bless her. The writers shouldn’t have made him so unlikeable to start with.

Ryder looks the same age as his parents which I find confusing!

Current storylines are rubbish and Nicola’s family almost unwatchable. Oscar leaving is a real shame.

It is sad about Oscar , but if the door is left open a bit he could return. Hopefully they won’t just kill him off, but no clue.
Im surprised they left Megan behind as she had the horrible boyfriend in the boot of the car and must be vulnerable. Although the thought of another one appearing isn’t that appealing really.

Regarding Max being framed for Priya’s murder, I’m not sure how that would work as everyone knows she is in Leeds ‘looking after her cousin’ and her kids have spoken to her since she left (she face timed Nugget on his birthday) so it’s not as if everyone is wandering where she is. Unless Ravi starts a rumour that she has gone missing whilst in Leeds.

I also don’t think she’s the woman in the bed. She left Walford in a hurry, supposedly terrified of Max having anything to do with the baby. Why would she return and stay with him when heavily pregnant if she doesn’t want him to have any involvement? If he’s being framed for her murder, why wouldn’t he just tell everyone she’s alive and in my flat? So many questions and 10 weeks or so to find out the answers.

Unless Wadey, who has the attention span of a gnat, and thinks the audience does too, forgets everything that's been set up and nothing happens....

Priya isn't missing now, but we have another 10 weeks to get through! There will be some kind of resolution to her situation.

If it isn't Priya in the bed, it's Stacey. We know she's back for a few episodes around new year.

The main characters Max has beef with are Cindy and Ravi. It could be Cindy with the gun. Max killed Stephen (and shagged Lucy) so she is getting revenge via 'choose which of your kids dies'. 30 years ago she had Ian shot, so it's quite a Cindy move.

But Ravi is leaving so something 'explosive' is going to happen to facilitate that and he hasn't had any other storylines other than Max and Priya.

It may be Stacey in bed. Many think she may have recorded a few episodes whilst doing strictly or something as the studios are next door.
The dad is probably some Brazilian drug lord !
Might go all ‘ breaking bad ‘ ! X

I can see Cindy with a gun. Lauren goes ‘oh it’s you ‘, so she knows who she is

Wadey is so silly that let's try this on for size.

Max discovers his inner bisexuality and has an affair with Ryder. Ned finds out, obviously having been in the army he's OK with guns, and kidnaps Lauren and Oscar as revenge for sleeping with his kid.

lol at Max discovering his been bi sexual for ages and not realized it. Would be a good twist though!
I’d love it if Gemma turns out to be a baddie , but it’s clearly Ned who is one and will ramp up the villain role a lot now he is business partner with Nicola and trying to manipulate Ian for his businesses ( which I think he is )

Pat was never interested in her own kids though as far as I remember

Well Max has basically run out of possible women in the square, so.....

Wicksy and David both used to have a go at Pat for not caring about them and being on the game when they were little. She got a lot of stick

I think Ned is after Ian’s business too. He can spot weakness and opportunities, he’s going to be a good baddie.
I forgot about Pat’s past. I didnt watch it back then but it would have been on in the background. Dm used it for educational purposes. Mark’s HIV storyline. It was explosive for the time.
