Jean wouid be hard pushed to rent anything with her credit record and incomes even with Zac’s money now.

Yes Suki is renting the house she lives in herself from Masood. Which I'd completely forgotten about.
And she owns the Slater house and is renting it to them.
But you would not do that, you would live in the house you own. There is no point renting out a house while paying rent yourself, and it wouldn't take you 6 years to work that out!

No idea why the Panesars moved house. Where did they live before ? I lose track with the moving.
I think Nish wanted Jean out at some stage and Suki put the rent up , but it’s vague what happened after he died and Suki must have inherited the house then.

Now they have Mia I guess money is a factor maybe ?
Poor Jean though , no income , all those arrears. Worst nightmare.

Not watched todays. But can you imagine the amount of redecorating would need done on the Slater house! I'm sure that's the same wallpaper Pat had.

They have got an extension thanks to Alfie though. He built that rather quickly.

They still have Pat’s old bar area though I think ?

Wouldn't the Slaters get some kind of housing benefit? With Mo being a oap, and baby Charlie with Lily who is a child herself, and Jean's bipolar

I wondered about benefits tbh. Jean is a cleaner , Mo gets a pension. Could they apply for UC or housing benefits ? My late in laws received housing benefits and he had a small private pension and a state one. That wasn’t for a private rental , a council house though
Could Lily receive family allowance? What about the council tax ? They couldn’t pay all of that?

Would the council rehome them as Lily isn’t an adult with a child ? I’m sure they could do something about it.

The council never seem to rehome families on the square, you rarely hear of them getting housing benefit, Stacey swanned off to Brazil leaving her share of rent and bills to be replaced by someone else.

You almost never hear them mentioning benefits there. Sometimes there’s a food crisis shortage or having to rush to the Minute Mart but otherwise all that stuff (money) is top secret. I was surprised to see Eve at the bap van but I suppose she has to keep that going for Stace. And whatever money it brings in.

Eve seems to run the bap stall occasionally. You never hear her say ‘ im off to the cash and carry ‘ or getting up early for the morning rush. No help either , so she can’t sell much. Same with pet ahh too with his pineapples ! It’s a fairy tale with the business running

At least it is realistic that Jean and Mo are very in arrears with the rent, we have all asked how on earth they can afford that house when Jean is away with the Wendys for weeks on end, and neither she nor Mo do any noticeable work.

When Stacey had no money a few years ago they didn't mention benefits did they? She just went straight down the Only Fans route!

How they have kept afloat is a mystery isn’t it.
Mo’s dodgy goods can’t go far and cleaning isn’t that lucrative unless it’s your own business or out doing a lot of it and Jean isn’t. Family allowance isn’t huge ( don’t know tho) and Ricky can’t work yet or contribute.
Zac earns a bit , but he came with nothing and only pays 500 plus bills only recently too.

Zac could do only fans , maybe his feet like Freddie did once ! Or showing off his pecs.
They need to be realistic though. They can’t live there with such arrears and need some intervention for a new place that is affordable.

Don't you have to have paid some NI to qualify for child benefit ? I could very well be wrong !

Not sure how family allowance works now mine are adults. It used to be universal , but that changed years ago. Maybe Jean can claim UC for Lily and Charli ?

Is Peter not a bit audacious throwing Lauren out of the house that they probably rent at far less than the market value because HER family owns it?!

Sonia owns the house now doesn’t she ? The one that Lauren and Peter live in ? It was Dot’s , but I thought Sonia inherited it ?

It really needs a lick of paint in the kitchen. Update the cupboards. i don’t think it’s ever changed.

NYD Pet ahh appears from somewhere else , so maybe he ends up living somewhere else by then ? Lauren and Oscar are in the same house.

No. It’s a payment for the child whether the parent ever worked or not. Once you give birth you can apply if under the threshold.
