Adele is really struggling tonight. I didn;t mind the team challenge as it did make sense in the context of producing cohesive yet different outfits for a girlband. The bra challenge looked incredibly tricky.

Rebecca's red floaty number was not disco. IMHO.

Agree about Rebecca's outfit not being disco, although beautifully made.

I didn't love any of the MTM's this week. I probably liked Beth's best. I thought Rebecca's dress was very 70s but not very disco.
Heather is really good and getting better. Loved her leopard print pattern challenge.

I'm surprised they made no comment on the impracticality of dancing in Anna's trousers. They looked quite thick and sweaty.

I like Sophie as a host because I mostly forget she's the host. I think that's a good sign that she's not making the programme about her.

I thought Beth’s outfit was more disco than Rebecca’s, so the judge’s comments didn’t seem fair. Adele was clearly the one to go this week. Any of the remaining sewers could make the final with Anna the clear favourite

Anna's outfit for garment of the week was dire regarding disco. Maybe more comedy sci-fi film?

Sad to see Adele go. Loved her garment of the week though it was more 60s James Bond.

Loved the denim outfits.

I thought that Anna’s silver trousers were far more 90s than 70s.

I thought the red dress was 70s dinner party rather than disco, but very lovely.

I really enjoyed watching Heather shine this week. Her outfits were lovely, especially the corset.

I think they are also running out of ideas for weeks. Literary week? WTF? Although to be fair I would totally nail a challenge of turning a pillowcase into a child's outfit for World Book Day.

Flares were more 70s than Anna's barrel leg trousers (as a child in the 70s we had huge flares and collars that poked you in the eye if the wind caught them!) My Mum was super stylish with a collection of Kaftans in every length, plus kaftan jackets, flares if varying widths and even a version of the red outfit (in green) which she wore to dinner parties. But not a single pair of huge barrel or balloon leg trousers. I also think Annas fabric was too stiff and heavy for disco (they were hot sweaty places) but the judges love her and I expect she'll get more praise with some kind of gothic outfit in literary week.....

I don’t know, Rebecca’s dress was Halston inspired wasn’t it and he’s always associated with Studio 54.

I have ‘Halston, Gucci, Fiorucci’ as an earworm now.

I’d have gone for one of his lamé halter neck jumpsuits I think.

I didn’t like GOTW, I agree it was more sci fi. Heather’s was the nearest I think.

I loved that musical!

I've watched it from the very first series and always look forward to it but, for the first time, I'm falling out of love with it.

It seems to have strayed over into making costumes/fancy dress/unwearable things more times than not.
I don't like the Group Challenge either.

I did enjoy the episode and loved seeing how well Heather did. Her Madonna cone bra was fantastic, and that massive orange cape was glorious. I'd have given her outfit GOTW it was pure disco in my view.
Of all the MTMs, Beth's was my favourite. And she would look amazing in it.
Anna's was clever and well made but it was too structured and stiff for disco.
Rebecca's was beautifully made but was Abigail's Party rather than disco.
The competition is really tight now which is great.

Some of the 70s disco bands sung church for their day job and were pretty modest in their dress, too. No more flesh or outline of body shape than strictly necessary on show, even if it was silky or glittery.

I know she’s very talented etc. but I’m a bit bored of the Anna fest now.

I think she looks more like KT Tunstall.

DH and I agree that if they okayed Rebecca’s as disco than the comment to Beth did not make sense

Anna’s MTM outfit was just too dreary despite being silver and the trousers too stiff - it didn’t scream disco at all

Re Rebecca’s - I decided it was just what Margo in the Good Life would have worn. If she’d just done the dress and made it shorter in a lame or slinky fabric she may have got away with it ?

I wish Sophie would stop with the P-Dog shtick. Sara Cox does it and it drives me nuts.

Anna's MTM was less 70s disco and more 90s Steps.

I think this is one of my favourite series, and I've watched them all. I think Sophie's great and I love how many properly talented people there are.

I am generally against team tasks, but I loved the Girl Band challenge to produce cohesive looks - really fun. Rebecca's Halston dress was absolutely gorgeous and Heather's cape was incredible - looked like it had leapt straight out of Studio 54.

Esme never misses a chance to babe drop, does she? Makes me laugh every time she does it.

This. She showed photos of women wearing outfits like that in Studio 54. It was the only one I would have worn myself although like Rebecca I hated Disco, both in the 70s and now.

I think Heather's really coming into her own. I loved her pattern challenge this week - it was a really difficult one. I am enjoying the mixing up the transformation a bit this series. It's always the most boring part of the show and I often make a cup of tea while it's on! It's mostly just stuff nobody would ever do (make an outfit out of an old sail?!) but the team element freshens it up a bit.
