I am amazed how many of them don’t read the instructions first in the made to measure

A good mix of sewers getting recognition this week.
And the right one went home.

I was impressed with Tim’s pattern matched fringed jacket in the made to measure round. And Heather’s GOTW. And I admired the idea of Lewis’ white shirt and trousers - it seemed clever to find festival gear that suited his own aesthetic.

But mostly the interpretation of Mexican style that emerged from the contestants wasn’t really to my taste - hoping for something I’ll feel more engaged with next week.

Watching on catch up. No one doing day of the dead. Sad

Anna’s look boring for a change

I liked Adele's yellow tablecloth top - thought it was dramatic and wearable - don't know why it scored so low. I also liked Tim's M2M outfit - really good.
Overall I think Heather was a worthy winner though of GOTW and I think the right person went home.

It was nice to see Heather come out from under the radar. Her MTM was relatively simple but her aesthetic choices were excellent and really made it stand out. I see so many people do a terrible job of just mixing a print and a plain so mixing 5 prints and a plain would have been quite a challenge!

He was even fuller of cold last week. I wonder if they film thr episodes close together, because colds rarely last a week.

Does anyone else think Lewis looks like a younger Patrick? Same eyes!
sorry if it’s been mentioned before but it only hit me last night,

I thought that. I am a non-sewer but I do like looking at fabric, and I thought she did a lovely job of matching those different patterns. (I hope the owner of the fabric shop was watching and now knows why Heather was taking so long to pick what she wanted!) So glad she had time to add the fourth tier because it would have been much less effective without it.

I think I've got a better handle on the names now. The ones that are left are: Anna, Beth, Emma, Adele, Heather, Minnie, Tim, Rebecca. Have I missed anybody? Tim to go next, I think, or possibly Minnie.

He sounds like Patrick too. They talk in a similar way.

They are a good bunch contestants this series I think.

Anna, Beth, Rebecca and Emma are very creative and extremely good sewers - I do like Anna and Beth but I think any of those 4 could deservedly win and Heather may come into her own now that she's getting more confident in her abilities.

Adel and Minnie are also good on both counts but maybe not as consistent.

I agree that Tim will probably be the next to go as his sewing isn't at the same standard as the others.

Really enjoyed Heather coming out from the shadows, she and Adele seem to have a nice friendship. As a beginner sewer, I would LOVE it if they offered a bit of advice on how they sew with tricky fabrics. Like, 'oh, this material is so stretchy and tricky to work with (this is when the producers make a cut), it would be great if they carried on and said ' so I'm going to do X and X and that should stop it stretching'. I'd love some actual, casual sewing tips thrown in. I'm sure this used to happen in earlier series, and would be a good use of the presenter role as well.
I do hope Minnie gets the chance to relax, she seems very anxious and stressed about her makes, when actually she doesn't need to be- have more confidence, she makes such lovely things!

I agree @Wrenbirdwren , it wouldn't be too much of a stretch (ha!) to put in little how to segments. They do it a bit on Pottery Throwdown with the judges showing them how to make things.

I was glad Heather won GOTW too.

It must be me because I didn’t think Heather’s fabrics went together particularly well. I was sort of expecting the fringed jacket to win GOTW.
