There would be huge publicity about it if this story was ‘The Eight’. I expect the story to be resolved soon when / if Priya will be found out as the attacker in the next few weeks which is the cue for the actress to go on maternity leave. Then the big story for the autumn is something to do with the Brannings, which is one reason why Craig has been introduced.

Is Craig in the NYD Flash Forward ?

It must be Priya but maybe Barney was going to attack Joel but Priya wrestled the hammer off him "no Barney , he's not worth doing time for" then Joel turned to her and said "Your daughter was gagging for it" or similar so she whacked him.

Barneys prints on the hammer as well as Priyas .

Joel isn't dead but will that change ?

Don't think we saw Craig in the FF.

Only face we didn’t recognize at first on NYD was Mark and we know who he is now.
Don’t like the look of Craig much or the new policewoman. Clive is a good addition, but bound to be a let down because we all like him so far.

New Policewoman is an "Anything With a Pulse" so not long before she hooks up with Max.
Max already paved the way with smarmy drinks buying when she was with Craig and He was with Jack&Jack.

Linda and Clive going for lunch this week . He is fairly smooth ((not slimey like Max) and is putting Linda on his wavelength telling her about his daughter and his deceased wife . Lots in common.
Elaine pushing them together .
He was even nice to Jean and Mo .
I didn't like Jean's face when she was eating crisps , she looked like a small nasty 5yo .

Jean can be mean at times ! She has a dark side to her.
At least she has stopped going on about Stacey!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget Joel survives, in spoilers he's awake with Ross supporting him.

I think Nugget did it. One of the teens said when Joel wakes up he'll tell them who it was, and Nugget was keen to point out that he didn't remember who hit him (which may be what he's banking on).

It could be Amy but she seems too obvious. Although Wadey does like 'obvious'. But there will be some reason for Amy to come back into DC Craig's orbit.

I don't think it's Priya, it can't be if she is in the NYD bed, not enough time for her to be convicted, serve a sentence and be out again. And if it isn't her in the bed, who? They are thrashing the affair storyline for a reason.

I need to re-watch (again) the NYD episode
I am throwing Blonde Policewoman into the ring for the Woman-In-Bed .

When armed Police knock the bathroom door , do they recognise the woman?
Also the Pregnancy Vitamins . (on the bedside). Do women take them throughout pregnancy ?
I had the Folic Acid for three months before getting pregnant then took them only three months after ( I know this was over 25 years ago ) .
Pregnancy/Pre Conception vitamins were recommended back then .

The NYD flash forward was a bit tedious with "The Bride" , so fake but obvious needed for the plot . And the cast probably don't know who The Bride is so no slip ups and the writers can change the goalposts .

I was thinking Priya would go on the run after it all comes out but that would mean she wouldn’t be the woman in Max’s bed as she’d have to be back in the square by the end of this year as a free person. The pregnant woman could be Stacey. Just seems too convenient this story comes about when the actress who plays Priya is (likely) heavily pregnant and has to leave soon.

Would Max really be interested in the policewoman ? Juggling three of them won’t be easy to do! Makes me feel tired even thinking about him trying that one ( unless Priya is put away and creates a vacancy?)
They will have to write Priya out somehow , making her the hammer attacker is a good way of doing it and Ravi left with his children.

@70s even if Max shags policewoman (or anyonelse) next week, she hasn't got time to be up the duff enough by then. The woman in bed looks much more pregnant. The timing works for Priya-Max.

I originally thought the pregnant woman could be Stacey too. But Lacey is on Strictly this year and it is unlikely she's working on both shows simultaneously. I know in the past a few of the cast have done both shows at the same time (Scott Maslen did, for one) but nowadays they tend to write them out for the duration (Freddie and Jay).

If they write Priya out (rather than just offscreen) they could connect her absence with her being pregnant with Max's baby, and Ravi finding out. It's got to be Ravi with the gun hasn't it?

I can see Ravi with the gun. Whoever it is Lauren knows them, so must be someone from the square ( unless new characters are coming , but we had three this week already , I can’t see any more turning up ?)

Lacey could do a few scenes here and there, EE and Strictly are filmed in the same studios. Ease her back in before returning full-time in 2027 after Strictly finishes (and after she’s publicised her book this autumn).

That would be really boring about Ravi bringing the gunman (but EE regularly do boring). For now my money is on Craig. I don’t know why - just a hunch.

Craig gets involved with the dodgy cars maybe ? Feels a stretch , but the whole of NYD does revolve around Max , so it’s got to be something from the car lot that gets him into trouble. He has obviously rescued two children as well by then , but I find that hard to believe considering how his acting at the moment! Why wouid anyone want to harm a baby and Jimmy ? Feels very random. Maybe the Vic is attacked he gets them out of there. Why that’s a target I’ve no idea , but they were boarding up windows NYD.
Mark must be Lauren’s texter , are you in or out ? Of what ? More dodgy cars?

@Southeastdweller Yes she could, it is a possibility. But it feels like the Priya-Max storyline must be going somewhere connected with the flashforward.

Craig is involved with this Joel storyline, and I also wonder if Jack will ever return to work. If he doesn't, Craig will probably be instrumental in him 'retiring early'. On NYD Jack's at home with Penny's baby, still having aggro with Dee, and I think (?) someone says he has been drinking heavily.

Jack looked in a bad way NYD. He only offered to help Max out because Lauren said ‘ Jimmy and Ethan wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him ‘ Dee flouncing , maybe she can’t handle being near Jack anymore ? If his drinking and depressed , you could understand that one. She is pushing him away atm, but it’s still months to go so only guessing.

Could the policewoman be a honey trap? Did someone already say that?

I just watched the flash forward again. When first seen Jack is holding his wedding ring and looking gloomy, and knocking back a scotch. There is an empty bottle on the table next to him. When Lauren goes in she says ‘I know today’s going to be hard for you, but you’ve got to sort yourself out. Dad ain't worth it.’

There must be a reason he is looking after the baby. If something happens to Penny, along with Dee's illness, that would throw Jack into despair.

The only place where you see an actual wedding dress is at Denise's, it's hanging off the back of the door.

Remember the possibility of a double wedding though? Could there also be a christening.

It is agreed by everyone who discusses Max that day, that he has done such awful things and is such a nightmare that he does not deserve anyone to attend his wedding. I guess when the Priya affair comes out there will be fall out from that.

Jack was originally the best man but Ian took over. He refuses to go to the station to see what is happening with Max, but Oscar stands up for him (he's the only one who does) saying 'Ethan and Jimmy would be dead if not for dad'.

Max also tells Lauren 'I know what you're doing' and from the context it sounds like he means he knows about Mark.

None of the cops involved are anyone we already know.

Maybe Penny is dead so Jack has Ethan and Max was involved or to blame for her death?

( Which is why he's being charged but then released )
Penny might've been with Louis and Jiimmy but Max managed to save them?

Jack does look very fondly at the baby .but doesn't pick him up.

There is something amiss with Chelsea and Nicola (Nic said something in the Vic)
By NYD we'll all know if Harry or Vinny is the Dad. Vinny will melt away like snow in summer . Harry will want joint custody

Maybe Harry decided to kidnap Baby Ethan , so Lauren helps her escape , puts her sons in the car ( it would need to be a big car for Pennys wheelchair and seats for three children )
As it is one of the CarLots Cut&Shuts , it all goes badly .

Max comes roaring along to save the children but cannot save Penny .
Pe-Ah finds out that Lauren has been carrying on with Mark so refuses to engage and won't go to the wedding .
Maybe Max and Cindy know and cover up for them.

If the wedding dress is at Dees house , Max could be marrying Chelsea which would piss Jack right off . His step daughter /ex Girlfriend and his No Good Brother . While Denice battles or maybe she's died by now ?

Denise hasn't died, she has just 'stormed out' of the house.

Nic is asked if she's phoned Chelsea and she says "I'd rather eat glass". Her ankle is in a hospital boot.

Chelsea and Nicola is an odd one NYD , unless she has bought her out the bar or something like that ? Chelsea has done something to annoy her.
They rarely interact as it is atm.

Pet ahh didn’t look too upset NYD. Unless he is hiding it well or isn’t too bothered about Lauren.!
I have a feeling he isn’t aware of Mark and Lauren at that stage. Maybe (going against most soapy plots) M and L don’t have an affair ? It looks on the cards , but she may resist and Mark is with the policewoman.
However, I am usually wrong and they will be having it away soon. She isn’t happy seeing him with other people is she.
