So the 'Who Killed Theo' saga carries on. I think we should find out who it is soon... Fit Kit and Swain are on the case still. (For what its worth!) 😆

Poor Sam has been sectioned, and is quite unwell, and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Gary and Sarah are in cahoots about something, (related to Theo's death, I think.) Oh, and Maria thinks they're having an affair.

Some random lads are chasing and threatening Brodeh. Who knows why!

Ma Driscoll has been quiet for a while.

Will is still sneakily staying in touch with Megan Trainer!

Alya's cousin Idris (who has never been mentioned before AFAIK) has appeared on the street, and has been seeing Leanne.

Carl, Kevin, and dishy Ronnie have buried the hatchet (for now! Hopefully it lasts!)

And what is Jodie going to do with Carl's gun?!

Sorry if I've missed anything!

I get the impression that someone at Corrie came up with the idea about Sam seeing an imaginary Will and Roy but they did not think of the consequences

Hope's cancer was another absurd story and drew plenty of complaints

Character Hope Stape, 5, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in an episode late last year, leading to initial praise for highlight the issue of childhood cancer.

However, last Friday’s episode saw Hope’s parents Fiz and Tyrone celebrate the news that she was in remission after only a couple of months’ treatment.

Coronation Street defends 'disgusgting' childhood cancer storyline

Viewers have described Hope Stape's speedy remission as 'an insult to families coping with the reality of cancer'

Same with the quads !

Hope was another incubator baby

zanahoria · 20/06/2026 22:56

Coronation Street has issued a statement reading: “We have not at any stage said Hope is not cured at all. This is an ongoing story which has been researched throughout.”

Never mentioned again

They don’t do stories properly at all. If they did, Theo would have been found guilty in a Court and sent to prison. None of this utter rubbish that’s on at the moment. They could have done the DV storyline so well but opted for crap.

I am in no way defending the shitness of Corrie's storylines but so often in RL there is no closure, in whatever way, for domestic abuse victims. The most we can hope for is to be away from them, there is seldom a handy death and court cases where (usually) he is found guilty and sentenced to prison are few and far between, in comparison to no consequences at all for the abuser.

In related observations, Todd appears none the worse for his time with Theo. It'll be interesting to see if there is ever any mention at all of any after effects of the abuse he endured.

the80sweregreat · 21/06/2026 10:31

Todd seems over it doesn’t he 🙄
He seems to want justice for the man who put him through hell though. I guess most people would be more concerned with trying to heal themselves a bit or some therapy as well.

Shellingbynight · 21/06/2026 11:28

@LesserSpottedCharacter I agree there is often no closure in real life. My neighbour was abused by her husband for years and it only ended when her husband died (a natural death, rather than being chucked off scaffolding!) She still talks about him on social media as if he was a saint.

The worst thing at the moment is the Sam storyline which is plain ridiculous, and I'm sorry for those who have been through similar in real life having to witness it.

I don't understand why they have gone there, unless it was Sam who (unbelievably) pushed Theo during his a paranoia. I suppose it's no less believable than Summer be arrested for it.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 21/06/2026 11:36

She still talks about him on social media as if he was a saint.

That is sad @Shellingbynight . Maybe it's better than cursing his memory forever but it leaves her open to not rejecting, or even recognising, the same kind of behaviour in any future potential partners, or anyone in her circle.

I initially thought the Sam stuff was down to those tablets he was taking. I still wouldn't be surprised if it all turns out to be them after all and that's why they'll be able to forget the storyline once they've squeezed every last drop of 'drama' out of it.

Shellingbynight · 21/06/2026 14:42

@LesserSpottedCharacter I hope she had a happier life after his death but they moved away so I don't know (she must be about 60 now).

Anyway we can guarantee that back in Weatherfield, Theo will barely be remembered by Christmas!

Unfortunately in real life not so many domestic abuse perpetrators would be found guilty in a Court, or even get as far as a court.

My weekly PSA for your info, expected airing this week:

Monday 22nd June 9-10pm - hour long episode
Tuesday 23rd 9:30pm - half hour
Wednesday 24th - nothing
Thursday 25th - 9-10pm - hour long
Friday 26th - nothing

Most listings have a caveat regarding World Cup and that could be changes. I will keep my 👀 peeled for such a thing.

eggandonion · 21/06/2026 19:22

Thank you.🙂

Deadringer · 21/06/2026 21:09

I really hope they don't settle on schizophrenia for Sam, because they won't do it properly and in a few months it will all be forgotten.

DaisyStarburst · 22/06/2026 06:28

Deadringer I agree.

zanahoria · 22/06/2026 12:28

They should just suddenly declare that Sam's episode was not as bad as they thought and all he needs is a break and send him off to science camp.

OK that would not be realistic either but may be the best option as they seem completely out of their depth with this plot and Sam has been over used for the last year.

zanahoria · 22/06/2026 12:31

After moaning that I didn't care about who killed Theo, I now find myself looking forward to tonight's episode even though I suspect it will turn out to be a damp squib

HaddyAbrams · 22/06/2026 13:16

Im just watching tonight's episode. I have so many thoughts, but will have to save them until later.

Are we any closer to finding out anything ?

I reckon it will just have been an adverse reaction to the funny pills he was taking and he just hasn’t admitted to them yet he took them. A lesson to all that taking drugs can cause this ? 🤔

Empress13 · 22/06/2026 13:28

Yes. We find out who and why. But there's so much other stuff that is nothing like real life. Nothing like mine anyway. And I'm a similar age to Maria/Sarah et al.

Shellingbynight · 22/06/2026 14:39

I just watched. It was worse than I was expecting, which is saying something 😆
