Episodes 1 and 2 will air on Sunday, May 31 and Monday, June 1. The rest of the series continues next week on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.

The story follows two next-door neighbors in Manchester over the course of an escalating neighborhood dispute:
• Leo (Alan Cumming): A gay man who runs a bar on the famous Canal Street in Manchester's Gay Village.
• Clive (David Morrissey): An electrician with two teenage sons who harbors underlying prejudices.

The situation spirals out of control when Leo locks himself out of his house and has to ask his neighbor for a spare key.

This single event triggers a collision of worlds, unearthing mistrust and bigotry, which is further complicated when Leo strikes up a friendship with one of Clive's sons—who happens to be secretly gay.

The five-part drama will follow Leo and Clive who live next door to each other in Manchester. Leo runs a bar on Canal Street, while Clive is an electrician, with two teenage sons. But just as life should be settling down, the world around them is growing more tense.

According to the official synopsis, "Words become weapons, opinions become radicalised, and gradually, two neighbours become deadly enemies in a tense, suburban thriller which challenges everything we consider to be safe."

•	Alan Cumming as Leo
•	David Morrissey as Clive
•	Pooky Quesnel as Marie, Clive’s wife
•	Jackson Connor as George, Clive’s son
•	Joseph Evans as Saul, Clive’s son
•	Elizabeth Berrington as Stephanie, Leo’s best friend
•	Iz Hesketh as Zee
•	Shakeel Kimotho as Hanna
•	Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Judy
•	Paul Rhys as Melba
•	Charlie Condou as Curtis, Leo’s ex-husband
•	Denise Welch as Diane

I’ve seen. I won’t say anything till tonight apart from it’s shocking but think we gather that from the first scene

it’s very graphic

I admit I found it very hard going and did result in flashbacks to dh

but I’m ok. Well kind of. Have a friend popping round

I think and hope this show gets some kind of award

Hope you’re ok. It’s certainly a harrowing watch but you’re right in that it deserves to win awards. Ultimately I’m glad I watched it, difficult though it was.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2026 12:49

Thanks. Me too. Def needs some kind of award as it is brilliantly done

I think the person who said that hadn’t watched the last episode yet. TV time it isn’t on until tonight.

Just binge watched this so no spoilers for those yet to see tonight's episode.

But oh my god what a show! This has to be one of the best dramas I have seen in such a long time.

The acting was superb and, even though we know what is coming at the end, nothing prepared me for the actual scenes. Sad, shocking, harrowing and just bloody really hard viewing.

This one will live with me for a long time and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I finished it at lunchtime.

Will be back on here to chat properly once its all finished and everyone has watched it all. This is one show you want (and need) to talk about.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2026 17:41

I’ve reported the spoiler

I don't understand why Flo took 16 year old George out to the party knowing what had happened before with Clive and Leo? Seems so implausible.

Sonato · 09/06/2026 18:04

Apologies all

I think she just felt sorry for him and was worried about him because of his awful dad. When they were discussing the dad finding out he was gay she was the only one saying she felt sorry for George and was worried about him

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2026 18:18

I think she meant well and felt for him and due to the photo popping up online and being I guess shared as see it pop all over town , how quick things change

@Sonato hope you don’t feel unsupported with the spoiler comments and deletion. I think you also said you have been crying all day. Most people have seen all the episodes now but just trying to hold off the details until after tonight. Hope you have someone to talk to. It was really horrifying.

I hear you. Years ago my brother was seriously assaulted just walking home from a gay club with his friends. TV like this is so much more than just fiction/entertainment. I hope RTD gets the recognition he deserves (still not sure why It’s A Sin didn’t win more awards!)

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2026 21:29

The tension that builds during this episode is well done.

No, I don’t think so having thought more about it, she would have gone out with him for a coffee to talk, not taken him to the party, then the day after comes over to see him. It’s just another daft contrivance to service the story.

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2026 21:46

Melba struck a cord saying how phones have replaced conversation and they just thought that George may have needed a friend or some help. They are young and don’t think things through: Didn’t think that it may make things worse. I can see how that might happen tbh. Just my take on it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2026 21:52

It’s very thought provoking and written wonderfully

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2026 21:53

It was very well acted and incredibly moving.

fundamentallyauthentic · 09/06/2026 21:56

Underwhelming. From the first episode where Leo gave Clive his keys, to the last episode where Leo is literally strung up in broad daylight, I didn't believe in any of it. All I heard was the 'clunk clunk clunk' sound coming from RTD's keyboard.

The characterisation was awful, especially for Clive.

macaroon8 · 09/06/2026 22:02

That was a an emotional rollercoaster
