Yah it’s back. I do like this

but as always hope we get more than 4/5 new episodes and then the rest be catch ups.

I loved the look of the second house the Canadian/Australian couple were looking at.

I liked that as well. Thought they were mad to turn it down.

deeahgwitch · 28/05/2026 17:48

Was that the one with the stream at yhe back though ?
And not enough bedrooms.

For me, it was a classic case this week of knowing the area and therefore understanding why they didn't want the house. Isleworth is not Chiswick and neither is Brentford. They were renting a house worth twice their buying budget so they were destined for disappointment - I think they had an unrealistic expectation of what they could afford. It was a reminder to me that it's not always about the house - though it's easy to think it should be when you know nothing about the area, It's not called Location Location Location for nothing!

Toddlerteaplease · 29/05/2026 15:33

It’s always going to be tricky when they’ve rented a house that’s not in their price range. Everything will be compared to that. There was an episode not far from me, but they then included a completely different area as the prices were cheaper. What they didn’t seem to appreciate was that if you want to Live in Long Eaton, Bullwell is not going to be on your radar. (It’s a shithole)

Totally agree with this. They were destined for disappointment!

I'm confused. How is Eddie the Eagle Edwards called Michael?!?

CaptBirdsEar · 03/06/2026 20:03

Why are they calling him Michael?

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/06/2026 20:07

His first /real name is Micheal

OP posts:
Gillthepill · 03/06/2026 20:07

Looking on Google it’s because his surname is Edward’s, shortened at school to Ed/Eddie. Then when he was in the Olympics he ‘flapped’ his arms hence the Eagle bit.

He seems quite jolly but they’ve got a bit of an exacting wish list for a house.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/06/2026 20:08

Eddie the Eagle's real name is Michael David Edwards

The famous English ski jumper and Olympian earned his nickname when a fan club greeted him at the Calgary airport in 1988 with a banner reading "Welcome to Calgary, Eddie The Eagle”

I'm a bit surprised a former professional sportsman and his partner don't have a bigger budget tbh.

If they don't buy it, that house will.sell on the Open Day I reckon.

Meredusoleil · 03/06/2026 20:23

Although it was mid terraced which is not great.
