Can't believe we're on a new thread already. Filling up so fast these days!

Brief summary:

Todd has finally left the dreadful Theo, (after he badly beat up Todd,) but Theo is not keen on leaving him alone (although he has been told to by the police.)

Carla and Lisa (Swain) are planning on getting married very shortly.

Carl has been trying to extort money out of Summer for information, as he knows Theo killed Billy. (Summer knows this now too as Theo cornered her in the shop and told her as much, threatening to 'bury her too.') Summer is - very sensibly - not giving Carl a penny until Theo is arrested!

The ghastly Megan (Trainer) seems to have vanished, so Sam is relatively safe for now, but Sam has been having hallucinations and keeps seeing Will there - coming at him - when Will is nowhere near. Toyah, Leanne, and Eva have tricked Megan into meeting her (by sending a text from the burner phone Megan gave Will, and pretending to be Will...) Not sure what they're going to do when they meet her!

Ben Driscoll has just found out the man he knew as dad is not his bio father, and Jim McDonald is actually his father (so he is.)

The effervescent Debbie is declining a little bit more by the week, but is still in fighting spirit, and is seeing Carl for the parasite he really is. The gorgeous Ronnie is always by her side. Carl has just decided to cause a flood in Debbie's hotel by leaving the taps running in one of the rooms, after she told him he was very difficult to love, and refused to let him have half the hotel after he threatened to report Ronnie to the police for hitting him.

Shona's annoying sister Jodie is causing trouble all over the place! She's stolen Lisa's police badge, and a girl she uses to be a nanny for has turned up. Jodie is not happy about this!

Probably a bit more is happening, but I'm sure it will come up soon.

No Detective Haircut was a few years ago. She was very no nonsense. I can't remember who she dealt with. Lisa is a drip.
I think we need Ludwig now but he is bbc. I can't follow him either.

Was she ds abney who dealt with Yasmeen and Geoff?
I had to spend time going through a list of detectives. Isn't the Internet amazing.

Detective Haircut was a few years ago, we named her that on the threads as her hair was awful and we could never remember her name, I'm not sure she was much better than the detectives at the moment to be honest 😃

Fair point. we know what Jodie is trying to do so know the truth, whereas Shona doesn’t.
But she’s always very harsh with David, there’s no chemistry at all. I don’t understand how / why Jodie had Shona’s phone to reply to David in the 1st place, but there’s so much going on at the moment I let a lot of the small stuff go 😀

Did I miss the not-Shona messages being deleted from David's phone? I know Jodie disappeared them from Shona's mobile, but surely he could show them on his.

I am fed of watching Will constantly storming out of rooms. It has become a standing joke in my house. Here he is and there he goes!

Oh I quite like it when he storms out. He can take some more of his family with him if he likes!

But where is Megan? I thought she’d be screaming assault from the rafters immediately.

And where is Sam? Last seen cowering in the flat a few days ago! Has Leane not noticed or is she too busy chasing Megan!

I always think Shona is like an annoying big sister to David no sexual chemistry at all and she looks a lot older then again Jack Shepherd hasn’t aged still looks 10 !

I was hoping Sam had some vital eyewitness information to assist the police. But he is prone to hallucinating so possibly no use.
Is Arper ever getting home from hospital? She will be a nice invisible friend for Frankeh.

His hair has aged.

David has never really lost that brat attitude that he has had since he was a kid.

Not only did he do a terrible job explaining the situation to her, he has made that other classic soap error of telling someone only half the truth so he will look even more guilty when they find out

I keep cheering Mel on when she talks about taking Will to Scotland

Oh yes. Mel can take the miserable oik Will to the far side of Scotland forever.
Meghan did make me laugh ( not in a good way ) when she said she had spent time in the cold with a stop watch! As if this could justify then wanting to groom them afterwards. Such a deluded piece of work.

Standing around with a stop watch was all she ever did. I never really saw why he needed a personal trainer, especially as his dad was a professional sportsman.

Eve had some brass neck when she was telling Mel that none of them could have foreseen it, Maybe not but they did not have to drag Megan over from Hull either and none of them seemed to question why she would come all that way just to hold a stopwatch.

Hopefully Mel lives some were in the Outer Hebrides, St Kilda would ideal

Have to admit I agree with this a bit. Too much stuff going on all at once, and it's making it hard to follow. Like a couple of others on here, I felt like I had missed an episode last week. I had no idea why Ma Driscoll was in hospital, I have no idea what happened to Megan Trainer after she and Ma were at the top of those steps, and I don't know why Sarah was attacked or who by (someone said Jodie hit her? I didn't know that....!) I also don't believe that Lisa and Kit would be interviewing the 'suspects' (ie George,) and grilling them as they are doing, because they know him, and live virtually in the same bloody street! In real life, a police officer who is known to the 'suspect' would very likely not be permitted to interview them...

And once again, a disproportionate amount of crime. Been watching Classic Corrie this past week, and whilst, (as we have said before,) when the Connors came into it, it was the start of the decline, it was still so much more 'real' and normal. Corrie now is like a crime drama, not a soap opera. No way would all of this be going on in one street with less than 30 properties and a handful of businesses.

Right now in Classic, we have Liz and Vernon splitting up because Liz is finding Vernon so dull and boring, Jason and Becky having an on-off relationship, and Carla sniffing around her brother in law Liam and trying to derail his and Maria's relationship. Also, Maria has recently had a miscarriage. Also, David and his girlfriend Tina have just had a 'house-party' with some mates whilst Gail is away, and wrecked the place. Ciggie burns in the carpet, vom up the wall, and cans and rubbish everywhere. Also, neighbour disputes between Sally and Claire..

Normal things that happen to people. Not crime and murders and bad guys and criminals all over the place, so many people being arrested every 10 minutes, so many people ending up in jail, and people/babies ending up in hospital every week. So many terrible things that, as I say, wouldn't happen in real life in such a short space of time, in such a small space, to so few people!

Is she ever coming out?

I suppose she was fairly premature and had surgery but she doesn't even get many mentions. Poor wee Arper.

When storylines are written involving babies the writers are full of dramatic ideas and twists which are meant to mirror real life but they seem to bite off more than they can chew as the children (as we know only too well) then fade so far into the background it becomes ridiculous. The quads were the best example as it's as if they were never there in the first place. Now it's Harper. They really have to show her recovery and homecoming but I can't see much beyond that as the writers have let themselves down over and over. Several other children on Corrie who don't appear to receive much parenting at all. 🫤

They should do a few bits of drama in Bessie street. I assume Bertie is there. I have no idea how old the quads are. I don't think Gemma knows either. Is Jawseph still in Oakhill?

Why did Christina just say "Hello Vicky" then corrected herself to "DS Swain" when answering the phone. The character's name is Lisa, but the actress is called Vicky. Anyone else notice?

I wasn’t either when Christina asked Todd if he had any suspicions - was she talking about George being guilty?

And how silly that Kit interviewed his girlfriend’s brother without another officer present!

When Toyah was arrested and the three sisters were at the police station, Kit told them something had changed in the investigation. Then they didn't revisit that. The three of them were in the pub this week and didn't even mention Toyah's arrest or what happened next.
And who looks after Frankie when Lauren is working every evening then swanning off on a night out??

She didn’t. I have subtitles on and she answered saying yes, hello speaking, then oh hello DS Swain. Pretty sure if they get a characters name wrong they just do a retake.
